JNDSD~ My take~Wednesday 8.3.17 ~ Two faces of the same coin
For children, a mother and father are generally seen as two sides of the same coin. They see their parents being closely related, although they appear and seem different. Both provide stability and can make available replacement for the child if required, in terms of one's absences. For me , this episode acts as a reminder, of how the protagonist Atharv was brought up by his single mother Sujata .Clearly the strong father figure was amiss in his life. Yet through his mother's , thoughts, deeds and actions the drawback of having no evident father was swapped by his mother's existence in his life. Whether he bore it with a dash of sugar lump or pinch of salt , Atharv somewhere deep within himself , recognizes that his mother was the closet link to him after his alive but absent father Ramakant .
Within the episode , we see a scenario where the boy Madhav voluntarily ends up in Atharv's house. The boy creates a stir in the household. Madhav drawns much attention to himself, being the only child amongst a house full of grown ups! he very nearly holds court with his change of behaviour from the withdrawn initially to the outgoing in the end !
Atharv despite his memory loss realizes the onus of the boys safety falls upon him, or is it more of a strange paternal role that makes him phone Vividha? whom he knows not from Adam! But it's the hand of fate that makes a father contact , the boy's mother to say the boy is safe and well ,just a bit flustered!
Nothing can stop a father from acting as a temporary mother figure replacement for the boy Madhav. Much to evil forces displeasure and possible set back to plans ,information is cascaded down from Atharv to Madhav's parents ,despite the imposition of information clamp down!
Ravish wants to know the callers name..but surely the name Raghav does not alter what Atharv feels for the lost boy Madhav..it's not just the sense of loco parentis, but rather it's a paternal pull.. an easy familiarity that Madhav and him feel towards each other.. Madhav feels safe with him, and that gives Atharv the chance to exert gentle but firm discipline upon the lad. All ,especially Suman notices how relaxed and how well Madhav heeds to Atharv s firm commands like resting a bit, before he is returned to his parents! One sees , with much ease, Madhav gives in to the similar kind of firmness his mother Vividha exerts on him. Atharv in place of his mother turns into the one in authority. Alongside , the sometimes, scatty Atharv, takes on the role of being child friendly ,wherein he obeys Madhav by taking the boys shoes off! As at home his mother did the chore! For the cheeky Madhav is his way of saying , yes he feels relaxed and at home now! And for Atharv its trying to find his feet with this little bomb! Also making it clear to him, he's not having his way! Atharv is told time and again in a roundabout way, by the little blighter how much he misses his mum.. gradually Atharv's finds himself tucking the boy like his mum would do.. but walking away from the boy is far from easy.. a tug at the corner of his shirt and Atharv ends up being Madhav's mother.. holding him, loving ,protective, running his fingers through Madhav's hair..his fingers slowly replicating his mother's lullabies ..Unknown force binds them.. Madhav latches on to Atharv his in place of mother figure.. both sleep like two babes.. Vividha's two weaknesses..
While the cat and kitten are napping.. Suman reveal's Madhav is not some stray kitten! But a vashist ! Madhav ,Ravish and Vividha's son! But her main issue is to keep Atharv and Vividha apart!! But added to her grief should be the role play happening between a mum substitute and son!
Madhav wakes up and atharv realizes that with children waiting means right now! on the double!! it's their carer who is in the business of teaching them the virtue of waiting! But Madhav as a child expects this grouch of a man to fulfil his promise! After napping he will drop Madhav to his parents! The substitute mum Atharv cannot even relieve himself! without this hyper child breathing down his neck!! But... peeping Suman keeps a watch on what goes on between these two.. especially the smart Alex Madhav since he can chatter more then he needs to..
Suman has no hold what so ever! over what the deities have given to this father and son! Moments of familiarity where Madhav chivvies in such haste to meet his parents! that he picks on Atharv for his indulgent preening! telling him his mum and dad were coming for their son! not to check him out! Tongue in cheek the in role mum.. tells Madhav to hold his horses! or go down and wait for him to follow! But he chatters back nope! As he'll take more time preening! Atharv, doing up the laces a loving mother task.. for Madhav it's like fitting into his father's life, almost like a natural progression.. fitting into dad's shoes?
Guddi comes to spy on how the father? and son are bonding..puts up a performance whiles Suman watches from the wings.. is Guddi's care ,natural or mere guile .. a handmaid working for the wicked witch? Atharv is Under the radar as Suman and Guddi ascesss how much their tampering with his mind. Has worked? Although Madhav tells him,his parents names Ravish and vividha's they mean nothing to him. This affords much relief to Suman no chance of Atharv and Vividha ever meeting..
On Atharv teasing Madhav about packing him off to the orphanage if he hadn't heard from his parents and Madhavs response he would run away and would teach him a lesson! Strikes a sour ironic note.. as Atharv was destined by some cruel turn of fate to abandon his unborn child.. and his son is not being brought up in an orphanage but nevertheless by a foster father
While a mother waits restlessly for her son. Her son has a whale of time playing pranks with all in his father's house ..each one is taken in by Madhav's antics except Suman ..her hand maiden Guddi is set up to deter Atharv from dropping, Madhav,business meeting used as the excuse .. Chintu chosen for the task. Atharv almost accepts till Madhav turns and pulls a face at Atharv, bye grouch! Atharv smiles.. and shocks all, wait! I'll drop the boy! Atharv like a magnet is attracted to this little terror! He wants Madhav's company ,a little longer.. wants to pretend to be a substitution mother for Madhav a bit more! Suman has to stop Atharv from meeting Vividha... she prepares the drugged milk and makes him drink it before he leaves with Madhav .. who actually drops Madhav?
The name Raghav on Ravish phone one rings abell with Vividha.. she recalls his name on Suman's incoming call that's odd? Soon her concerns disappear as a white car pulls up and out comes Madhav safe and sound. Vividha goes to the car to say thanks to Raghav .. episode ends..
Precap: its most likely that it will be Chintu and not Atharv who drops Madhav.. the episode is strange coincidence where Raghav assumes the role of Sujata Atharv's mother.. like all those years Sujata was both father and mother to Atharv .Raghav dons the brief role of Madhav's mother Vividha the highlight has to be the scenes between Madhav and Atharv . While the forces of virtue meet and celebrate laughter and joy and form a bond .. Suman and her evil forces are constantly into the business of thwarting Atharv from meeting Vividha! Whether Madhav wins anyone else from this devil's workshop he has certainly won over the lovable in place of maa grouch!
