It was around 3.30 am in the morning when Vividha woke up as she was hungry. She hadn't been eating well because of her sore throat for the past two days. She was feeling exhausted and now was eventually hungry. She wanted to have some spicy food that would satisfy her craving as well as not make her hungrier. She had decided to let Atharv sleep peacefully as she would on her own go and make something spicy and easy. But her pregnancy was driving her crazy, she wanted to have spicy aloo ki sabzi and puri to go with it. For making all this she had to wake up the poor chap.
Vividha rose herself from the bed and rested herself against the bed's headrest. She switched on the lights of the room illuminating it. She saw him sleeping, just like a baby would sleep, peacefully with a smile shining on his lips. She couldn't resist caressing his face and playing with his wavy hair. She remembered all their moments, right from the revelation of her pregnancy and the pampering from both Atharv and Sujata chachi. How he had made it a priority to fulfill her all cravings, cause her happiness was all that mattered to him. She remembered all their past right from payal's birth to their confession. From how they were torn apart brutally by her father, to their reunion! Atharv did behave like a jackass when he thought she loved Ravish, the time when he questioned her love, their relation and questioned her fidelity. So much had happened in the past few months. Today, today was different. They were back together, crossing all hurdles life threw at them. She was finally his, she was carrying his baby and their relationship just got stronger.
Even after caressing his face, he didn't wake up.
Vividha: "Atharv...utho na...Atharv..."
She got no response from him, she gently tapped his shoulder and called out to him again.
Vividha: "Atharv..."
He got up panicked,
Atharv: "Kya hua...aap theek hai..."
Vividha calmed him down, she took his hand in her hand.
Vividha: "Main theek hoon...mujhe bhook lagi hai Atharv..."
He got up from the bed, rubbed his eyes to find the clock reading 3.30 am.
Atharv: "Aapko subah ke 3.30 baje bhook lag rahi hai..." he asked bewildered.
Vividha: "Haan...ab usme bhi tumhe problem hai..."
Atharv: "Nahi...mujhe tension de diya aapne"
Vividha: "Itna tension mat lena...mujhse jyaada is pregnancy ka tension tumne liya hai Atharv..."
Atharv: "Main tension nai le raha. Bas aapko aur maa ko lekar thoda jyaada protective ho gaya hoon...aap dono ne mere liye itna kuch bhugta hai...aap dono ko kuch bhi ho jata hai to mujhe bahut takleef hoti hai..."
Vividha engulfed her husband in a warm embrace and gently caressed his face.
Vividha: "Ab aapka ho gaya hai drama queen to mere cravings ka kuch kare?"
He grinned, and led her to the kitchen.
Atharv: "To batayiye kya khaana hai aapko...maggi?"
Vividha: "Nai...mujhe aloo ki sabji aur puri chahiye...aur wo bhi spicy sabzi"
Atharv: "Itni subah itna teekha khaana...aur itna oily bhi...nahi..."
Vividha: "Atharv please..." she pulled him closer, casually flirting with him.
Atharv: "Sorry madam, aaj aapke ye tricks kaam nahi karenge..."
Vividha: "Atharv, tum mujhse bilkul pyaar nahi karte aur nahi hamare baby se..."
Atharv: "Jee aisa kuch nai hai..."
Vividha: "To tum mere liye itna bhi nai kar sakte...main to tumhaare liye itni unchi pahad se jump kiya tha..."
Atharv: "Haan...pata hai..." he said finally relenting to her request of making spicy aloo ki sabzi and puri.
He got a chair for her to sit as he started preparing for his wife cravings. He put the potatoes for boiling in the cooker while he was busy with dough kneading. Vividha was enjoying this to the fullest. He loved her, and expensive gifts were never needed. The way he showered his love for her, in these very small things made her heart melt and fall deeper in love with him.
Vividha called him near her.
Vividha: "Yahan aao..."
Atharv: "Kya hua?"
He bowed down on his knees on front of her, and she very gently cleaned the flour that had been accidently got on his hair and forehead.
Atharv: "Aapko yaad hai...aata bhi hair gel hota hai aajkal..."
Vividha smiled whole heartedly. He remembered even their stupid fights, even when these two were not in love. She was surprised as men usually don't remember and cherish all this stuff.
She pulled him closer for the kiss, as they kissed ever so passionately. Just then the whistle of the cooker sounded, making Sujata coming down.
Sujata: "Ahem...cough..."
Atharv and Vividha were shocked to her early in the morning.
Atharv: "Maa...tu itni jaldi kyun uth gayi?"
Sujata: "Ab tu itni subah subah cooker ki seeti bajegi to koi bhi uth jayega...Vividha ka phir kuch khaane ka man kiya?..."
Vividha nodded in agreement.
Vividha: "Haan chachi mujhe aloo ki sabzi khaani hai...puri ke saath..."
Sujata smiled adoringly at her daughter. She had seen Vividha's journey from a dutiful daughter to a lady fighting against society for her love to finally see her getting married and lead a blissful life.
Sujata came and gently pecked her forehead, and caressed her face.
Sujata: "Sirf itna khaana hai aapko? Aur kuch ho na to Atharv ko bol dena...wo bana dega aap ke liye..."
Both the ladies smiled,
Vividha: "Haan chachi...ab mera pati mere liye khaana banayega to kis ke liye karega..."
Sujata: "Aap khaana ke baad aaram karna...main jaati hoon sone ke liye..."
Vividha: "Bye chachi..."
Sujata: "Agli baar romance karna hai...to aapke bedroom main karna..." she teased while she left.
Both Atharv and Vividha laughed real bad.
Vividha: "Atharv kitna time laga rahe ho...jaldi jaldi banao na..."
About 30 minutes later, Atharv prepared everything.
Atharv: "Lo ho gaya...start kijiye..."
Vividha: "Khilao na..."
He fed the first bite,
Atharv: "Kaisa bana hai..."
Vividha: "Mast bana hai..."
After finishing her meal, he helped her change into a flowery skirt and his oversized shirt. He helped her lie down. He pulled up the comforter for her. He let his lips linger on her tired eyelids making her shiver. He nibbled at her ear lobes; making her gasp! He later took over her cheeks kissing them each; his touch making her more vulnerable! He pecked her forehead! She opened the eyes to see Atharv looking down at her with all the love he stored for her. He later takes his hands down and unbuttons her shirt. She moaned;
Vividha: "Atharv please..." she pleaded with her eyes!
He realized that she was pregnant; and they have the whole lifetime to share intimacy!
But before that it was Vividha who took over and unbuttoned his shirt. And the she spoke again;
Vividha: "Atharv please..." she said as she looked at him.
That was all that Atharv required to continue his assault on her. There was no memory, no time, and no other person; there was only Atharv and his incredible gentleness, his endless passion and love for her, as he moved ever so gently toward her, and they moved closer and closer, until suddenly they became one and she could feel herself melt into him and she could bear it no longer. It was all so exquisite, and then suddenly they both exploded in unison and Vividha lay in Atharv's arms in complete amazement.
Vividha: "Thankyou for being so gentle!"
As the couple slept peacefully, destiny adored its two children content and happy with each other.
