JNDSD ~ Friday 3rd February 2017 The oddness of three or harmony of two!

What struck me in this episode is the numerical significance of the number three. A popular saying is two is a couple while three is a crowd. The significance of two as a numerical is that it can halved in two equal parts. Hence two halves constitute one. Three thus makes one whole inconsistent, and uncharacteristic. Geometrically the halves of a whole have to be symmetrical in structure.Three or triad has its features that, stabilizes the three dimensional structure. Gives balance. Like a tripod or tricycle. The three figure is used in some faiths to define deities like the trinity in Christianity ,and the Trimuti in Hindusim, Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver , and Shiva the destroyer. What also takes my attention is the faith interpretation of the wife being the other half of her husband. Giving credence and value to the sacred bond ofmarriage. An Echo ofAtharva and Vividha's vows to each other equality of status. One of two equal parts! words Hence the term better half! The number three fits on two sets of three characters, that feature in this episode the love triangle Atharva, Vividha , Ravish, and the three mothers, Uma ,Sujata and Suman.

In the opening scene , where Atharva is being offered support by Uma and indumati, there is play on the word relationship. One relates to connection e.g familial bonds. It can also show one's affiliation and rapport with someone or an issue. Relationship can also imply as in this case proposals for marriage which are hard to come by, as Uma admits before Atharva. In the same vein, to me , she insinuates to him that Vividha is aware of this dearth of decent proposals especially for middle class girls, and as such she treats marriage seriously. In other words is Uma hinting that Vividha will hang on to him and won't let opportunity slip by.. where what really means without saying is that Vividha may aspire to improve her class. Which ofcourse is untrue! as she loves Atharva unquestionably! In actual fact Uma plants the thought in Atharva's mind in a roundabout way the possibility of Vividha extending her future prospects in life. Indumati, though is guile free and assures a sore sulky Atharav, that Vividha wouldn't lie to him or her family about whom she loves out of Ravish and him. Atharva though remains baffled by her ways, why she doesn't come clean with him? He refers to the fact that previously Vividha was forced into marriage whereas he gave her space and time to give her decision about marrying him. Sorely he recaps, how he told others to back off lest she feels coerced. Atharva is perhaps right to react in this manner, as he feels, his doubts about how she feels for Ravish have still not been resolved .Worst still she has stormed off to spite him !However beavering him in a purposeful subtle underhand manner show how much Uma wishes to pry into Atharva s mind with the view to messing it up with a flurry of what if's ? in Atharva mind against Vividha.. thus the aim to confuse him .. where as Sujata..

Sujta understands Vividha predicament, and tends to enlighten Vividha. Empathizes with her, that Vividha does finds herself is at the cross road, where she will have to decide which direction she needs to take. Sujata understands the situation , as she can equate it as some of decisions taken in her past by Ramakant has had far reaching effects for both Suman or Sujata.. a decision where out of the three one will end up short changed...

But Vividha's confusion is driving Atharva up the wall! because as Sujata unpicks with Vividha, that it's her taken decision that will have an impact on three lives. Could change 3 lives .As such Sujata gives her a tip, that matters of the heart however hard, should be taken rationally without being pressured by outside agencies. Because the heart will make her chose that, which is about her ultimate happiness.. that which surmounts all other joys in her life. Sujata confesses in hindsight , that decisions taken under pressure not only destroys present lives, but generations to come.. Ramakant's decision of his clandestine marriage to her has had impact on many other lives. Thus she implies another set of three soldiers, Vashist senior, his son Ramakant , and now one of his sons Ravish Vasisht! Sujata instructs Vividha by examples that are alive but is seen here , as credence is given to Vividha to take a decision, mull it over carefully. Sujata leaves it in Vividha's hand. Vividha begins to perhaps understand that both Atharva and his mother have given Vividha the importance of taking the executive decision.. in fact both mother and son take a step back from how they feel about her.. their sentiments are like an open book before them and speak for themselves. It's Vividha who gets first preference to decide.. which man Atharva her first love or Ravish whom she reveres for fulfilling his promise to her?

Uma continues her devious attacks on atharva s mind... in a roundabout way she alerts him if, Vividha wanted she could have intimated her marriage to Ravish, to him when he recovered but she didn't because she had already chosen him over Ravish. With a dagger in her sleeve Uma spins Atharva s mind in a whirlpool of possibilities and probable questions. What if Vividha choses Ravish what he do?? his reaction, nothing will release her let her go to the one she loves! For he will not do what his father did, denied his mother Sujata and wronged Suman! He Atharva would let Vividha go to Ravish! forgot her! never to set eyes on her again! But will love her eternally and bear the pain.. as he is a mere mortal not immortal! Bulls eye that is just the kind of consuming passion for Vividha what Uma expected from him that he would respect Vividha choice, that she loves Ravish. Atharva misreads the intensions of his beloveds mother.. by passes the fact that Uma is a middle class woman who is simply the other side of Kalash kashup

Entangled relations snap and perish easily .. so it's Delhi here they all come to have it out and sort things out once for all is Uma's decision. To me she almost suggests to Atharva, he Ravish need to sort it out face to face. Is Atharva destined to travel another way as opposed to the one commanded by Uma? Amidst all armed force meticulous decorum the ceremony begins. Suman the doting mother , along with the family await Ravish's arrival. Atharva accompanies Uma to fight a war of doubts that creates distances, between him and his beloved Vividha...

Then his names is announced instead a CD arrives from Ravish to be shown, on screen! The distance stretched between Atharva and the ceremony... but his lord Shiva was going to reveal the news to him.. via the live coverage of the ceremony at the wayside , travel break kiosk television. Alarming sign, for the whole nation to view! Captain Ravish held captive by the foes, across the border! tied to the chair , tortured . Were the contents of the CD not vetted before hand by the scrutiny and the internal security team to avoid factional tension in the state before broadcasting to the whole nation? as shown by the CV'S in this fictitious situation. I suspect the armed forces and government of responsible states, would think wisely before showing such a controversial telecast which could hurt the sentiments of communities within a great nation that celebrates diversity of faiths, cultures and traditions of their nature. Looking at Ravish being tortured in a fictional situation , where the kidnaper mouths off language that is a volley of abuse seems nothing short of war mongering between two neighboring states, in a real life. Especially when bordering nations across the world strive to live in harmony in the global community.

The episode as I see it through the situation Ravish is portrayed in, certainly makes us realize the occupational hazards armed forces are subjected to in both at war and seemingly non state of emergency scenarios. The masses along with his family are under duress at seeing the conditions the soldier can be subjected to in captivity . The images portrayed can go two ways ,incite hatred or give rise to and evoke patriotism by Ravish s brave attitude of fighting till his breath to guard his motherland from subversive activities aimed to kill innocent peoples.

Ravish kidnapped from the border area by a Pakistani Jamat.. is this fictional portrayal of stereotypical views through home entertainment media going to improve relationships between two neighboring countries? or further widen the gap between two bordering nations whose peoples share many important links with each other. Their peoples can trace their ancestral roots, cultural, traditional ,socio historical, connections with each other. Above all both nations stand connected by their historical joint fight for liberation against the British rule for the emergence of two nations. Two nations whose forefathers gave up a lot in terms of lives and property to win, an Independent India and Pakistan on 14th and 15th August 1947 demarcated by borders.. but somewhat bound together by the same soil... to this day. God bless both nations and harmony prevail.

Suman as his mother, as usual loses the plot and thinks only about the safety of her son rather than the duty of a loyal soldier. She demands news about his safety !and Vividha sympathy and understanding gets slapped , by Suman. Vividha is piled on rather cruelly ,with Suman's blame. Vividha's existence in Ravish's life is the reason for her son's ill fate. Ravish's mother screams her son is not just her son but the nation brave soldier and Vividha has not only wrong her but she has wronged the whole nation! Are the cvs showing the effect war mongering can have on the public through Suman, in this one soldier's mother's hysteria? a mother who fails to see reason and for the moment is unable to differentiate right from wrong?

Hamlet53 whose roots herald both from Pakistan and India hence my strong sense of unity and respect for both nations. I take pride in being on India Forums which celebrates diversity of faith , cultures and traditions of members coming from different areas of the global community. Forgive me esteemed members ,if the take offends you in any one. I strive to unite two great nations rather then divide. Peace and goodwill.. and love which surpasses all ..hammie 4.2.17

Hammie hammie hammie hammie hammie hammie hammie hammie,
u have earned my respect today.its ur best till date take on this forum, but the issues u have pointed out has shown ur courage to speak up.

fantastic title and the beginning para has to b my most favourite.
u emphasized on the word ''THREE'', as there is oddness and as we can see in the script, a little bit of madness and too much of riot in 3, as 3 makes crowd, noise. Brilliantly u mentioned the Trinity n Tridev, how do u get such ideas? amazing u truly are hammie. U force me to think. yes there is Tridev in Hindu mythology and the Vedic rishis described three intertwined dimensions of existence: the physical world, the world of our ancestors and the light-filled world of the Gods. There is mention of 3 planes in Ved, The physical/material plane, the subtle plane and the casual plane/the scriptures of all faiths.

Coming to the Bible,

Jesus prayed three times before His arrest. He was placed on the cross at the 3rd hour of the day and died at the 9th hour (3 p.m.). There were 3 hours of darkness that covered the land while Jesus was suffering on the cross. Three is the number of resurrection. Christ was dead for 3 full days and 3 full nights, before being resurrected. There are 3 worlds in Bible study, The literary world, the historical world and the contemporary world.

In Islam we believe in 3 world, earth, heaven, hell. Only 3 absolute truth, Life, death and life after death. See its amazing how the word 3 states the most significant truths of all faiths. So 3, is a powerful number and i loved the way u played with the word, i could share what i know about it😆 There are more, khudko rok lia maine. shukar manao ap jaisi pantwali na banna mujhe.

Coming to the episode, captivating suspense , urge to know what is goint to happen in the next.
But disappointed in the same part, the world's face of terrorism is a man with a Muslim attire, and why is so? WHY!!! people who really knows what is actually happening in the world can know the whole thing but such serials, scenes which are meant to lead people to good values are just only leading to more intolerance, it is really shameful. As i have proved in the first part of my comment that the basic of all faiths are more or less same, faith means peace, faiths are constructed to bring peace in societies, and NO faith teaches to kill innocent people. what is wrong with the whole world? what is terrorism? ISLAM, what is extremism, ISLAM, Who is terrorist, A MUSLIM GUY. WHAT IS modernism, BEING A MUSLIM HATER, that is how i can define the world.Such kind of issues portrayed in the media is increasing intolerance between countries and between people following different faiths.

Sorry to say i vent out my anger here. i know the forum is a lovely place with people of different faiths here. We celebrate all kind of religious festivities here, TOGETHER . So my request to all these lovely forum members to spread this message everywhere , Faith means peace.

Brilliant analogy there Hammie! Although the CVs are bent upon the triangle, it is clear that Vividha has long ago chosen Atharv. As per me, it is and should be more Atharv-Vividha and Ravish-Atharv. Only then will there be the balance a triad offers.

In the opening scene , where Atharva is being offered support by Uma and indumati, there is play on the word relationship. One relates to connection e.g familial bonds. Especially when bordering nations across the world strive to live in harmony in the global community.

Absolutely!!👏 Have the makers thought about any Muslims or Pakistanis watching this show? Is it even correct to handle this track in this manner in the name of 'fiction'? Today's episode will horrify you even more, Hammie.

True.

God bless both nations and harmony prevail.

The best part of your post! How well have you worded these sentences. In the current atmosphere of hostility, it has been forgotten that Pakistan and India have been one since time immemorable. Still bound together, by so many factors. But divided by two: Religion and Border. God alone knows, when will harmony prevail.

For a proud soldier's mother, she completely lets me down. Yes, at the end of the day, he is her son and the pain is bound to be there. But why blame Vividha? What has that poor girl even done? Absolutely unforgivable.

Hamlet53 whose roots herald both from Pakistan and India hence my strong sense of unity and respect for both nations. I take pride in being on India Forums which celebrates diversity of faith , cultures and traditions of members coming from different areas of the global community. Beautiful!👏 I too am proud of being a part of this community which brings together people from countries, races, faiths and celebrates their bond. It is an ardent prayer in our hearts, that goodwill and peace may prevail and the two nations unite.

Hammie I am running out of adjectives to describe how awesome your posts are...

Your correlation of 3 and the harmony of 2 is superb...👏 👏

I was actually happy that Uma was talking to Atharva and actually helping him to see that Vividha loves him , but after reading your take on her intention I can see what you saw in her
roundabout way of trying to confuse Atharva...not nice..😡

I am now wondering if she knows that her evil half KK is around and she is trying to aid him in
trying to shove Vividha towards Ravish so he cannot harm Atharva or Vividha...😕

It is hard to believe that K K has been living so close to the house and no one knows he has been lurking there for the last few months...

I am with you in acknowledging that showing this kind of scenes does incite hatred and gives way to more anger among both Nations...

There is just too much negativity in this world and you were wondering if I would give up on this show because of all the evil things K K has done in the show...and I did skip those episodes for the very same reasons and now they add this ...so I am not sure if I will watch it for long if this kind of bull crap is shown...

I want to be entertained by a good story and characters that are interesting not see religious
animosity...

And the CV's showing Suman's reaction and blaming Vividha for what happened to her son is way out of line. Her son is a soldier and moreover Suman has been shown to be proud that her whole family have been in the service to protect and serve and now to say that it is all because of Vividha and Atharva, shows she does not really understand her son or soldiers and their training and duty... hope this track ends soon...

And you are right again where in I F we of all different religions and cultures come here to discuss and celebrate our diversity and still be united and respect each others point of view...

Thank you once again Hammie, Peace and Goodwill to all... and love will rise above it all...

Take care, love ... Dolly...

well I know how mad you feel.. it was hard for me to keep a sane head between my shoulders.. but I had to celebrate the similarities between Pakistan and India.. taz these are testing times.. global politics supported by the media influences the mind set of people. The world has shrank in terms of standards of decency , good human values, tolerance and respect for each others existence. we have within us a certain coldness regarding suffering and plight of people. the world has become selfish.. politicians governtments have their own agendas towards gaining supremacy.. they'll spin any thing... its a wave..there was a time when Europe rang with anti Semetic ..anti jews.. hate... they had to flee for their lives under Hitlers's madness.. now its antic Islam lobby that is spun.. you know the teachings of Islam, show mercy .. and continue on the path outlned in the holy book.. act the meassge..
