Sujata.
Our sweet, wonderful Sujata who has always been so kind and gentle. Who encouraged her son to follow his heart. Even during the times he thought he had lost Vividha, she told Atharv never to give up. She has been with Atharv and Vividha all the way, supporting them, fighting for them, praying for them.
But today we saw an angry mother, who blamed the girl her son loves, for her father's evil actions. Sujtata who used to say that Vividha was first her daughter and then her daughter-in-law, today said she would rather go anywhere but stay in the same house as her.
As Vividha explains to a stern Sujata that she and Atharv are her responsibility, Ravish says no, Atharv is his responsibility. A confused Vividha looks on as Ravish tells her that Atharv is his brother before he is the man she loves. He tells her that it is up to him to give Atharv the rights that are due to him and so he will stay with him in the Vashisht household.
But Sujata is angry. She tells Ravish that she will only stay in the house if Vividha is not there. She blames Vividha for taking away everything from her. Ravish tells her he can't tell Vividha to leave as she is still married to him, but Vividha tells him she will leave.
She tells Ravish she tried not to fall in love with Atharv, but she couldn't help it. She goes onto tell Ravish that he is a good husband but she couldn't forge a relationship with him. Relationships are made by people, but cemented by God.
All credit to Vividha. She apologised again to Ravish and asked him to tell his mum how sorry she was. She saw the hatred in Sujata's eyes for her and was willing to leave Atharv again so that Sujata and he could stay in the house in which they have every right. Vividha was again going to sacrifice everything for Atharv by leaving him. When it comes to Atharv, Vividha has no qualms about giving up her happiness for him, to give him happiness. She tells Sujata that whether she stays or goes, she can be far away from Atharv but she can never be separated from him.
In the meantime, Atharv is cutely drawing a picture and as Vividha goes to leave, he shouts her name to stop her but he falls, Vividha and Sujata both run to him and he slowly gets up holding his head. In the next few moments he relived the whole sequence where Vividha ran to him to tell him about her father's betrayal, and their seventh vachan where he vows to return and the fight that followed. As Ravish, Vividha and Sujata look on astounded, Atharv collapses again.
Vividha runs to Atharv, pleading with him to open his eyes as Ravish looks on, seeing the love and concern that Vividha has for Atharv. The love that he would never see in her eyes for him.
Sujata once again goes to slap Vividha but this time Ravish stops her. He tells her that Sujata was wrongly taking her anger of someone else out on Vividha. And he tells her , that if they want to heal Atharv, then Vividha will have to stay with him.
In the pre-cap, Ravish takes off Vividha's mangal sutra, telling her he was relieving her of it's responsibility.
I love Sujata, I do, but today I felt she was wrong in blaming Vividha for Atharv's condition. Sujata was there when the whole separation took place and she has also now heard Vividha's explanation of how she was forced to marry Ravish. So her anger is unjustified. Although I think she will realise that Atharv can only be healed by Vividha, she will not be happy about it initially. But Sujata has a good heart. She will come round.
Ravish has been extremely understanding in this whole situation. You could argue though, that he has only known Atharv a month and Atharv doesn't even recognise him as his brother so perhaps Vividha has more rights to take Atharv away. But right now, Sujata will never allow Vividha to take Atharv, so at least this way, Vividha gets to be near Atharv, though goodness know how they are going to explain all of this to Suman and the rest of the family.
P.S. A special mention goes to Vikram for re-enacting that whole 7th vachan and fight scene on his own. Brilliant once again.
