Are you not fed up of forced marriages?

Forget the writers...I want to ask fans.

After seeing forced marriages, eventual love because he is my husband or she is my wife. Can I ask what is the appeal in these kind of marriages? Is it because you want to see a hate relationship turn in to love? See them faaalllsss in love because you know...they have to and apparently every husband a
& wife love each other and don't split up?

Time and time again, for the 15-20 years of watching TV I have seen this storyline repeated. Do people not want anything different? How does the same storyline appeal to you?

Also, this is actually a criminally created marriage.

Agreed, It's weird and unrealistic. I can't say I've never enjoyed seeing hate relationship turn to love because I have but I realize those characters never had any other relationship to begin with and it just seemed right for them to fall in love after marriage, to cite one of my fav tv couples of all time, Abhay-Phulwa.
But this time it's so different that I really can't understand why CVs want to go this route. Writing a story as beautiful as Atharv and Vividha's, showcasing a love as strong and perfect as theirs to finally turn it into the same old cliched story seems like a total waste and so retrograde considering all the societal barriers JNDSD set out to break.

That's a really good question you raised, what's the appeal in forced marriages? In reality, it's not fun or exciting, in fact it's one of the most horrible things one can live through and maybe it's time we stop painting a rosy picture out of this serious issue.

So true Reemz, I seriously donno Y on earth people want Vividha to fall for Ravish. She loves Atharv and she is Atharvs Vividha, this marriage is not only forced upon Vividha but Ravish too but since the guy is liking Vividha and might even respect her more after knowing the truth and also love her but that doesnt mean Vividha should forget her love too.
Btw thats not even Vividhas character.

Atharv has promised her that he will come back so she will wait for him and they will eventually reunite.

These kinds of things are a favourite of Indian TV show writers.
Forced marriages, Revenge marriages, Hate marriages and Contract marriages.

Rarely do we get a happy marriage.
Even in a lot of my favourite shows these kinds of things happened.

Usually you also get a dumb male or female lead.
A sacrificial devi as a female lead.
A male lead who is depressed and serious.
A bubbly over the top female lead.
Writers who think a man being mean to a woman or slight physical abuse is romantic.
The lead getting married to the wrong person on the wedding day because they couldn't see their face etc.

I'm glad we didn't get those at least. For the most part JNDSD has been realistic. The characters are relatable.

But then we did get the forced marriage with the brother of the groom. Hope this isn't the start of a downhill run.

I hope down the line they address there was an attempted honour killing.
And I really hope we get back to a realistic story, women and men don't just fall out of love with the person they're in love with just because they've been forced to get married. Even if their husband and wife is nice, it doesn't equate to love.
For me it would be a depressing message that your father can try to kill the love of your life, force you to get married to an unknown person, and then you would fall in love with his choice, so basically proving that he was right, and the father doesn't even face justice.

In my opinion, none of it is realistic. Yes, in rare cases couples forced into a marriage may fall in love, but as I've said, very rarely. I know so many people in forced marriages, and they've all ended up leaving their partner, or they're stuck in an unhappy marriage because they think they have to be for the sake of society. I'm sick and tired of watching the woman (in this case) remain in the relationship if she's not happy in it, and her hating the husband then miraculously falling in love, when are we going to see something new? When these women do fall in love with their husbands there is no justice shown after that, it all just goes down the drain which is stupid! Just because you fall in love with your husband, doesn't take away the fact that your family did wrong in forcing you into it! But for some reason, they're never punished for it, everybody just forgets about it just because the wife has accepted her husband, NO, there's a difference. You may love him, but it was done wrong. I want to see something different, the woman not having to feel that she should love her husband or remain in the relationship because divorce is frowned upon and due to family pressure/reputation/society.
Now JNDSD, as you've said, this is a CRIMINAL marriage, there is Honour Killing involved, so if they don't address these issues by uniting ViTharv (I'm not just saying this because I adore them together, but because if shown otherwise there will be no justice and it'll be nothing new to me but a typical recycled show), people like KK and Ankit need to be punished, I don't care.
The woman should be shown to fight for what she wants now, not be tied down by others.

Agree! When you've laid such a strong foundation for a couple like Atharv-Vividha, you've practically made them husband & wife because they are so in love with each other - they identify themselves with the other. It's just bizarre to throw all that way for a cliched twist! Why? There has to be a difference! They cannot insult their own show by going down that old-age route. It's stood so different till now, why would they not continue their belief?

Like someone else pointed out, there's loads of nice guys...doesn't mean you fall in love with each one! 🤣

WORD! That last paragraph especially is BANG ON! So what are we saying through this? Your father almost killed your lover, blackmailed you, emotionally tortured you and married you off to some stranger. Now she falls in love with him...! All good? Kailash did the right thing then. No punishment for such a hideous crime. Is this how destiny works?

There was a time where such forced/contract marriages had their appeals on TV but it's been YEARS, over a decade of this same cliched crap! It's time to rise above it - if any show can then it's JNDSD.

As always, you are BANG ON :)

If Kailash & Ankit got away with this act then the whole show goes for a toss. There's no such thing as justice! The circle has to be completed at some point. This IS honor killing (KK is just lucky Atharv has survived). Plus Vividha has been shown so much in love with Atharv - they have to do a lot of bothering to get her to fall in love with her societal 'husband'
