What is your character sketch?

As far as the professional part is concerned, there are still certain things that need to be worked out. I have my meeting with the producer and then I'll get some clarity but as far as the narration part is concerned, during the first two meetings, it was briefed that the character is of a sorted and a simple guy. Nothing is big for him. But some mystery element is involved. He is simple yet complex. As far as my previous role is concerned, this character is two steps ahead of it and that's the reason I signed the show.

Since you've mentioned that your character has a mystery element, should it be a negative role?

No, it isn't a negative role at all. I have not come across any God till date nor have I come across any devil. We are all humans and I'm just playing a human role. Sometimes you may find that it is going with the flow and sometimes you may feel it is not. It is more like balancing both the things. It isn't like a typical daily soap main positive lead role wherein the character is only doing good stuff. Sometimes, it does happen that good people commit mistakes or do something that is not acceptable by others but from their point of perception they are right in their own manner.

With your entry in the show, what kind of twist or entertainment factor is expected in the show?

Basically, the major drama in the show will come in the second half of the show. Right now, the story is about the two present leads. I'm playing the role of a step brother. Many revelations with regards to my entry in the show will appear in the second half. This is a high intense drama.

Your entry in the show was delayed for some period, what was the reason for the same?

I signed the show in the month of January and my entry in the show was in the end of March or to say by the beginning of April. There are two phases involved in the story. The first phase is the one that is shown on T.V currently and the second phase is my entry in the show. I was told that my entry will happen after 2 months. But there are a few things involved in the show like Star Plus being a huge network, its time slots and creative factors involved too. First, we were to shoot in Delhi but then the plans got changed and we decided to shoot in Mumbai. Hence, the things like these involved. But I was in touch with the production house and I kept a lot of patience. I'm thankful to them and vice-versa. Now, the things are shaping up. Everything happens on its own time.

What interested you into this role? Do you think it was a hastened decision for you to accept the character?

I had quit Balika Vadhu in the month of July and had decided that I'll not work for the next 3-4 months. I wanted to travel, meet new people, give time to my newly bought flat and give some time to my father. I was approached by this production house and they wanted me to listen to the narration first and make my decision after 10-15 days. I went to the production house and the first narration was good but when they called me for the second meeting, the total narration of the show made me feel that this is the thing. Basically, there are a few things which I don't want to try on T.V. I am not a magic master. I know my areas of work. I know acceptance and I know where I can give my 100%. I can't give my 100% to everything as far as acting is concerned. I'm not the one to try everything because this is my profession and I have to be choosy. I am not experimenting with my life, it's my career. I have to take decisions very wisely. It's not that I want to prove that this role is meant for me and show the world as to how big I am for the role. I want to have my own sweet time to think about the character to which I can do justice. This character is beyond understanding. Such characters are less portrayed on television since television is for women, by women and everything by women (laughs). I could see it clearly that the character was well written. My father always tells me that if you're in doubt, do it. People offered me the role, I'm liking the role, the show is good and Star Plus is a big network. So there wasn't a reason to say no. We have to do work in Mumbai and that's why we have come here.

Which is your favourite most activity that is close to your heart?

First is acting and apart from that I don't know anything else. I love to travel, be it a village or Manhattan. Lastly, I don't like to miss out my workout.
