Chapter 1

"Finally, I am going to visit London." said Roshni.

"Yeah, it is great u could come with us." said Ravi.

"Shall we leave now or we'll miss the flight?" asked Tej.

"Yeah sure."

"Bye ma, bye papa."

"Bye Roshni beta. We'll miss u."

"Me too ma, papa."

They leave for the airport and board the flight.

After 7 hours, the aeroplane smoothly landed on Heathrow airport.

Ravi - Welcome to London dear.

Tej - Welcome Rosh.

Ravi - It was very nice of your parents to send u. Now we can enjoy.

Roshni - I am sure I'll enjoy with such amazing brothers and uncle-aunty.

Tej - You mean you will enjoy with both of us cuz we are intellingent, but we will suffer with a nitwit like u.

Roshni - I am not a nitwit. U r a nitwit.

Tej - You can be the nit'. I am the wit', milady.

Roshni and Tej always kept arguing about things, but playfully.

Tej - Why r so many people looking at Rosh? You must be having something funny on your face.

Rosh- Yes, I do have something funny on my face and that is the reflection of your frightful face in my eyes.

Ravi - Now that was a good retort Rosh. An intelligent repartee Roshni. Tej, u'll have to concede that.

Tej - But first ask your precious Roshni if she understands the meaning of the words. Rosh, the words repartee' and retort' mean replying back and concede' means to agree or accept.

Renu - Tej, these foreigners are looking at roshni as they find her a charming girl with sharp features.

Also because she has dusky skin and they find it attractive.

Rosh- WOW! Everyone in India want to bcome fair and here they want to become dark.

Renu - That is because, foreigners are fed up of their fair skin and want to become dark.

Tej - but it is not in the fashion nowadays here

renu - because they are not looking at rosh as the critical brother u r.

tej - I believe u ma. so I will recite a poem for her.

rosh - how nice of u tej.

tej -

O how l love thee sister dear.

though thy eyes like frogs appear

your body is so fat and round

thy heavy footsteps shake the ground

and when thou speaketh people say

now did we hear a donkey bray?

they all laughed as roshni ran behing tej to hit him.

Tej - also, what I don't understand Is Rosh, why did u have to purchase two of these lousy, huge dolls? I am feeling so stupid carrying a doll.

rosh - tej, your feeling stupid or being called stupid, does not need your carrying dolls as a reason

tej - so u mean that I am actually stupid. well, I m your brother so I'd be like u. what can be done about genetics. u understand the word genetics? it is related to genes not jeans. do u rosh? now u r stupid.

Amit - that is enough tej, now don't trouble roshni.

tej - but papa, what must the people thinking of me? imagine. a grown up macho boy like me with a doll.

rosh - but it suits u so much tej. macho is just not the right word for u.

tej - don't go too far in your witticisms rosh. u know, I am a brown belt in judo.

rosh - but I also know that deep in your heart, u love these dolls. that's why u sat with one throughout the flight,

tej - that was becuz there was no place for it overhead

rosh - but who told u to keep holding it? I kept mine under the seat. u could have done the same

tej - u ungrateful girl. I was trying to be a good brother. but see, yours have got a tear in it.

rosh - it is small, I'll stitch it.

tej - u will have to or u won't be able to gift it to your friend. but what beats me is how u could buy such an abominable monstrosity. oh! your limited vocabulary wouldn't know the meaning of this long word monstrosity. it means this monster like, ugly doll of yours who resembles u so much...not only your face but also dumb, blank and dull brained it has.

rosh - shut up tej. renu aunty, see tej is troubling me again.

tej - cry baby roshni. the moment I say anything, u start,'aunty, your son Tej is troubling me' cry baby. and ma, y do u always take her side?

renu - she is without her parents for the first time in life, so I have to protect her.

tej - ma do u really needs protection? I think the world needs protection from her.

renu thought - oh godz! these children na.

Awesum its so fun readng dis part

A/N: This story will be continued from 15th June as I have muscle pain in my hand so I'll start this from 15th June until my hand becomes better. I am RESsing the next post as I'll post Chapter 2 today or tomorrow and then continue it from 15th.

Renu- Hey! Can u see that strange man who has worn sunglasses? He was so restless in the plane and now he seems extremely nervous.

Ravi - Ma, he might be wearing sunglasses because of some eye problem. But why is he looking towards Roshni continually?

Tej - Probably he is wearing sunglasses because he cannot face the glaring rays of stupidity that comes out of Roshni. Or maybe he wants to marry her. He looks like the mad and crazy type who would be interested in brainless girls.

Ravi - That man was sitting behind u on the plane, isn't it Roshni? What is his name? And also tell me what did he talk to u about?

Tej - Oh! I think Roshni must have pleaded that he should get married to her as she is frustrated as she cannot get married in India because every boy has refused to marry her.

Roshni - Stop it Tej. His name is Vikky and he was just talking generally, asking normal questions about where I was from, where I was going and what all of u did?

Tej - And he also wanted to know what our address was, because he wanted to come and propose u Roshni.

Roshni - Keep quiet Tej. Yes he did ask me address too but, u stupid, not to propose.

Tej - And like a fool, u told him the address.

Roshni - And u also told your address to the steward.

Tej - But that was for official reasons. Actually, I guess he was asking because he wanted to know where he could send the officials to take u Roshni, to a lunatic asylum, meaning a mental hospital.

Roshni - How dare u call me mad? And u spoke so loudly that everyone must have heard the address.

Tej - Right. I wanted u to reach the madhouse without any mistake as I am your brother and care for u so much.

Ravi - Don't fight. How does it matter Tej and Roshni! If someone wants to find our address, they can easily find out.

Tej - It matters Ravi because poor Ma will have the man pestering her for Roshni's hand and the rest of the senseless mind and body that is attached to her very fat and ungainly hand.

Renu - Tej, u take things too far at times. But I would love to know why that man is behaving so abnormally?

Tej - Ma why do u think that the behavior of this man is abnormal? It is normal for him to behave abnormally because anybody seated behind Roshni for so long in the plane would be a nervous wreck. What is so abnormal about that?

Roshni - Stop it Tej. I'll kill u if u tease me.

Just then the lovely airhostess, who had attended to them on the plane, came to Roshni and said - Here take this soap. It was lying in the plane. This must have fallen out from your bag.

Roshni - Thanks.

Tej - Yes madam. roshni brought her own soap because she thought u all won't supply it in the plane, she made me get her handbag down for it.

Airhostess - It is always good to be prepared, just in case.

Tej found himself smiling at her.

Roshni - Thanks madam.

Airhostess - My pleasure dear. Have a nice stay in London. Bye, see you.

Roshni saw Tej gaping at the airhostess.

Roshni - Mister Tej. The airhostess has gone. Come back to reality.

Tej - My word! What a beauty! Just a little tall for me.

Roshni laughed - Tej. This situation here, of u looking at her, fits the title, the Beauty and the Beast.

Tej - Call me whatever u like Roshni, but u are no match for this beauty. Yes, u can share the title beast with me.

Suddenly a voice said from behind - Roshni, won't u introduce me to your family?

They all turned and Tej chuckled and started humming a well-known Hindi wedding song softly.

Roshni glared at Tej murderously but then turned. Standing in front of Roshni was the same young man wearing sunglasses, whom they had been talking about, who had been seated behind Roshni. Whose name was Vikky.

They looked curiously at the young man, as Roshni said - Of course, I'll introduce u. Aunty, he is Vikky. Vikky, she is my aunty, he is my uncle and these are his two sons - Ravi and Tej. they live here.

The officer Mr. Brown shouted to Vikky brusquely..

Mr.Brown - Hey young mn! U better stand behing. You cannot break the queue.

Vikky went back slowly and reluctantly to the other queue.

Tej - Poor Roshni. She has lost her only chance.

Roshni - What do u mean?

Tej - Oh this horrible officer! He didn't understand that Vikky is a great fan of milady Roshni. This officer is so mean that he didn't let Vikky propose to Roshni. See Roshni. I was right. Vikky was so reluctant to leave u. U understand the word reluctant'. It means hesitant.

Ravi - Cool it Tej. Why are u pestering poor Roshni?

Renu - This man Vikky still has his sunglasses on and he moves so slowly and nervously. Do u think he is blind?

Amit - Yes, I was thinking the same too. Probably that is why he appeared so nervous in the plane too.

Roshni - Then how come he came straight to me now?

Tej - Your stink probably Roshni. Those who are blind have a special sense of smell. I bet he recognized your stink.

Roshni (fuming red with anger) - My stink!? I don't stink, how dare u?"

When they all laughed, she understood Tej had been pulling his leg again and laughed sheepishly.

Just then the queue moved and the turn of their family c me. Renu and Amit's passports were checked and then the officer turned to Tej.

Officer - Come on son, it is your turn. Son aren't u a bit too big to play with a doll?

Tej - Actually sir, I am just helping in carrying this doll for this dumb girl. (He pointed at Roshni)

Officer - Aren't u too a trifle grown up for dolls.

Tej butted in before Roshni could reply - No Sir. The dolls suit her age. I mean mental age. Physically she has grown out of proportion but mentally she is stunted. She is still an undeveloped child mentally. Naturally, she has to have dolls.

As the officer laughed, Roshni - U better be careful otherwise I'll punch u on the nose.

Tej looked at the officer apologetically and said - I apologize for her Sir. But perfect morons can't help themselves.

Roshni seemed ready to burst with anger and the Officer smiled. Tej smiled back.
