Aagham and Suhani were on the bed in an instant and Ranbir was on the other side, checking her pulse. Ragini tried to tell them that she was fine but the fever and exhaustion didn't let her speak much. She saw that Nachiket who was standing now and Aarav was sitting on his place. Ranbir asked Nachiket about the medicines that he had given Ragini and instructed Aarav to pick his bag from the room as he had better medicine. Nachiket looked at the scene before him. Ranbir was asking his mother if she was feeling any headaches, and if he could press her head for sometime. Suhani was sitting near her head and was removing the hair from her face. Aagham was quiet, and was holding her hand in both his hands. Nachiket could see that he was going to cry any moment. Aarav brought the bag and left to get something to eat. Ragini tried to get up but Ranbir didn't let her.

"Aapko kuch chahiye? Aap mujhe batao," Ranbir said.

"Main theek hu. The medicines will work in a few minutes. Tum log jakar enjoy karo," Ragini told all of them.

"Main aapko chodke nahi ja raha hoon," Aagham clutched her hand tighter.

"Neither am I," Suhani said. Ragini looked at Nachiket for help and he asked the kids to go as he'll take care of her.

"Sorry Dad. We're not going," Ranbir said and brought the chair near the bed to sit. The determination with which Ranbir had said, Nachiket knew nothing would make them leave Ragini's side. Ragini slept soon after, and kids stayed at their place. Nachiket had never seen Aagham and Suhani remaining quiet for such a long time. He went out to bring their dinner in the room and inform everyone about Ragini. And when he came back after an hour, Ragini was still asleep. Aagham and Suhani had laid down on the bed too, with Suhani holding Ragini's hand and Aagham holding her leg from over the duvet. Ranbir was sitting on the chair and Aarav was sitting on the couch. And then it struck him. He wasn't the only one whose life revolved around Ragini.

"What about mum" ranbir asked "let her sleep i will get her dinner when she wakes up" they came and sat down to eat "dad are u not eating" aarav asked. "Aarav u know dad does not eat without mum" ragini was a wake listening to this. She sat up.

Ranbir went to her "mum" "i am ok ranbir go finish ur dinner" "do u want something to eat" "not yet".

The kids finshed dinner and went back and sat with their mum "i am sorry for spoiling ur day" "mum" they all said then pam came in and said they were going out to some fair that was on if the kids wanted to go. They all said no "they will come pam" they looked at their mum "go enjoy yourself" "but mum" aagham said "your dad is here he will look after me you lot go" she looked at him. The kids went. They were alone nachiket still had not spoken to her. He stood looking at her.

He sighed deeply and sat at the foot of the bed, positioning the plate of food near her so she could eat. She looked at him, he was stealing his gaze from her.. the guilt was eating him alive. He ventured to feel her arm and its temperature and sighed again, realising she was a bit on the warmer side.

He just did not know what to say. Somehow he looked her in the eye, she had been waiting patiently all the time - an expectant look on her face.

I'm so sorry, he muttered .. and then whispered those words to her again like a prayer..

Her eyes drooped because those were not the words she wanted to hear from him. Nachiket never apologised in words..that seldom happened.. and she was completely unprepared.

U know he will not speak on his own ragini will have to start the conv and the writer should be either you, sukhi or loveleen. They need to have a emotional conv putting everything in the open

Nachiket.. she said in the softest of manners.. and he held back his tears..

'I'm so sorry Ragini. I don't know why I've become so vindictive. For years, I craved to be with you. Touch you, feel you. And yet I could never understand you. And now that you're with me, I just go and do .. '

And his words falter as he bravely wipes a small tear from his eye and concentrates on the plate of food, determined to feed her..
