'Ok here' Nachiket said. 'I am not trying to justify violence, I felt what I thought I should do. And it's not only for you Ragini. Had they misbehaved with any other woman, I would have reacted as well. It's our no reaction that emboldens them.'

'But imagine Nachiket' she was now calm, 'there were 5 of them. What if they had attacked us?'

He turned and sat facing her

'I understand your concern. But Ragini, Imagine if you were alone. Or if it was some other woman? I am not violent by nature, you know. But sometimes, something's gotta give.'

He got up and walked towards the sea and dove in. She knew he was upset.

It was late afternoon when they returned to the hotel. They both sighed deeply as the cool air from the fan washed over them, it was very hot outside. Ragini turned on the AC a bit later; she walked over to the balcony where he was now standing and looped her arms through his.

He looked back at her inquisitively.

'Now what did I do wrong?' he asked.

She realised he was still upset. Looking out at the sea, she said

'It's so calm and quiet over here Nachiket. Thanks for bringing me here and for making this so special.'

He asked 'Even after today's incident? I know it was not appropriate.'

She turned towards her and lay her head on his chest, her arms going around his waist

'And I appreciate your being my protector out over there. I love you so much Nachiket'

He kissed the top of her head as his arms held her tighter. He whispered her name and she looked up at him, only to find him angling for her mouth.

She quipped, as she pushed him away

'Now that you are being super naughty, I will think of whether I should allow you to wash the sand off me? It's pretty irritating now.'

She disengaged from him, and pouted at him. Walking over to the cupboard, she picked up her bath robe and towel, and then she turned round and hooked her finger at him, indicating towards the bathroom.

For the second time that day, Nachiket displayed his athletic abilities as he rushed to join his wife.

"I'm missing the kids now," said Ragini. They had an early dinner and were eating chocolates now for dessert.

Nachiket nodded, "Me too" he said, "When I talked to Ranbir earlier, he mentioned something about some movie night. I think Tanya and Jignesh are with them too,"

Ragini smiled, "That's good,"

Nachiket could hear the unsaid words. "Hum kal wapis jaa rahe hain, Ragini. And if they're having a movie night, I'm sure they'll be sleeping till late. Tum khud jakar unko uthaogi, dekh lena," he said smiling.

This time Ragini's smile was genuine. "Do you want to go out now or stay in?"

Nachiket shrugged, "I'm fine either way. Tum batao?"

"Mausam itna acha nahi h bahar. I'll prefer staying in," said Ragini.

"Theek h!" said Nachiket, "I just want to go to the gift shop downstairs. I saw a hat there that I like"

"Hats and you? Since when?" asked Ragini.

Nachiket smiled, "Since some time," he said slowly. "I look good in hats. You'll see"

"I don't think so," said Ragini, clearly not thrilled with the idea of a hat.

"Oh! Come on, you!" said Nachiket, getting up from the couch and offering her his hand, which she reluctantly took.

The visit to the gift shop was exhilarating. Nachiket kept on insisting that he looked super handsome in the hat, while Ragini sniggered. As he went through different hats before settling on the first one that he had checked out, Ragini picked up gifts for the children - a hip satchel each for Aagham and Aarav, a beautiful motif scarf and skirt for Suhaani, some home decor for Nishi and Jignesh, a trendy shirt and tie for Ranbir. And a pair of shell rimmed sunglasses for Sunny Tai. She also picked up an ethnic cutlery set for Maa and a bright pair of home slippers and a silk scarf for Naani.

His arms went round her waist as he whispered - And what did you buy for me?

She blushed and then indicated towards a tie.

'Tie? Hmm ... very boring' he opined.

'Nachiket, you got the hat na? Aur kya chahiye?' she quipped.

'No couple gift hamper?' he pouted. 'How unromantic of you!'

The store owner chose that moment to nearly collide with them and Ragini pushed Nachiket away. The blush was still there, so he knew that there was something Ragini was hiding.

He decided to let it be for time being as he went to the counter to pay for their purchases.

They then stood in the balcony looking out at the sea - it was magical, what with the moon rays dancing over the waves.

They were to return to the mainland early morning and would go to the Airport directly. And then back home.

Nachiket pulled Ragini in his arms and held her tightly as they finally fell asleep, both looking forward to the next day.

The early morning flight from Goa landed on time and Ragini and Nachiket were home by 8 a.m. True to Nachiket's words, the children were all asleep when they reached home, and their excitement knew no bounds when they woke up to find their parents home. Agham latched onto his Mother's neck, while Suhaani hugged Nachiket tightly.

'We missed you all' Nachiket said fondly, as he ruffled her hair.

Ranbir and Aarav hugged Ragini as she kissed them affectionately, her face beaming. Nishi hugged Ragini tightly as she whispered 'Missed you Mom, but you look great.'

'Mom, bhook laga hai ...' Aagham said, as he lay down on the divan, his head on Ragini's lap.

'Arrey, Mom abhi aaye hai na? You go and make breakfast for all ...' Ranbir chided him, as everybody laughed out aloud.

Ragini got up and headed to the kitchen, and was soon engrossed in preparing breakfast for her family. She was happy to be back and felt herself blessed.

A while later, she sensed Nachiket enter the kitchen, his after shave was a dead give away. She continued with the preparation, and ignored him as he came up to her and the ghost of his lips trailed over her cheek, briefly.

'Nachiket ... ' she admonished him, as she pushed him away.

He grinned as he hoisted himself and sat on the kitchen top. He kept on staring at her until she snapped,

'What is it Nachiket? Go and be with the kids na?'

He grinned

'The kids have abandoned me. They are busy freshening up and getting ready for breakfast. Nobody cares about me.'

'Please stop whining Nachiket' Ragini said.

'We all care about you. And love you.'

'Aha' he responded. 'I love this response. BTW, why did you blush inside the gift shop?'

Ragini looked at him bewildered when Aagham called out

'Mom, we are hungry kids. Hamein khilayengey aap? Yea Dad ko hi khilatey rahengey? dad kitna privileged hai ...'

This earned him a hard rap from Ranbir, as Ragini pushed Nachiket away from the kitchen.
