Suhani was engrossed in her books on the way home and there was no way Nachiket could think of turning on the radio.

The words stung Nachiket. At first, he was mad, mad that in the time that it had taken him to come back to his Ragini, someone else had tried to claim his spot. He knew that Ragini would never give him that place in her life, knew that she had loved him throughout the time they were apart, even though she could never admit it to herself. But the fact that someone had tried made him angry. Someone else had tried to be a friend, had provided his shoulder to cry on, had hated someone he had never met before because that man had hurt his love. He hated this man almost like he hated Dr. Aman.
Almost. Because this man, this Dr. Sameer, had let his love go, let Ragini come back to him. After knowing how much he had hurt Ragini in the past, Sameer had still let him take Ragini back. And he hadn't argued, hadn't asked her to reconsider. He had just accepted that her happiness lie somewhere else.
But what had he done. He had burned with jealousy when Ragini had lied about being married to Dr. Aman. Only he knew how much rage burned in his heart whenever he had seen Aman and Ragini together. And he wasn't able to deal with that; he had denied their relationship every second of his existence. It was one matter than Nachiket knew for a fact that Ragini couldn't move on with someone else and that Sameer knew that Ragini's heart always lied with Nachiket. But still, Sameer loved her enough to let her go. And Nachiket would never be able to do that. He was too selfish...but unlike him, Sameer couldn't afford to be selfish, you just can't be selfish in a one-sided love...
And Ragini. Nachiket still couldn't grapple with what Ragini had done; she had broken her friendship with Sameer for him, because Sameer made him uncomfortable. Sameer had lost his love and Ragini had lost a friend, someone she had relied on when he wasn't there and who she had felt comfortable enough to talk to about him. He had met countless people in those 15 years, yet he hadn't found someone who he could bring up Ragini to...
But she had broken that in an instant. For him.
Why am I feeling like this? Why do I have this strange pit in my stomach, as if I did something wrong...
Is this my fault? My possessiveness over Ragini...
"Dad, hum kahan ja rahe hai?" Suhani asked softly, knowing that her dad only messed up directions when he was lost in thought.
Nachiket lost his train of thought and looked around, his attention coming back to the road. They had missed the turn towards the apartments.
He sighed; he hated messing up routes. "Ghar," he said firmly, taking a u-turn back.
