When the door bell rang for the first time in the morning, Ragini and Nachiket were still asleep. Ragini nudged Nachiket to go and check but he only covered his face with the blanket in response. When the bell rang again, Ragini reluctantly went to check.
Nachiket woke up to the ringing alarm and on not finding Ragini in the bed, he called for her. After few minutes passed and still no sign of Ragini, he sat up on the bed. The bathroom door was open and the light was off. Running his hands in his hair, he called her name again, this time louder. The bedroom door opened in the next few seconds, but it wasn't Ragini who opened the door.
"Hey look! Ragini was right. Dr. Khanna is a grumpy Khanna in the morning," It was Sameer.
"Its 6 in the morning! What are you doing here?" asked Nachiket, getting up from the bed to greet Sameer.
"I've been here for half an hour, trying to convince your wife to elope with me," said a grinning Sameer. The men were shaking hands when Ragini entered the room with tea. She wished Nachiket good morning and pecked his cheek on her way to the table.
"The attempts have been unsuccessful, I guess," Nachiket commented to Sameer, to which the three of them laughed.
While Nachiket went to freshen-up, Sameer told Ragini about his sudden Mumbai trip. His flight back to Delhi was in a couple of hours. Instead of spending it at the airport, he decided to visit her. Ragini was glad and he decided to come.
"So, what's new in Delhi?" asked Nachiket. With Ragini and Sameer sitting on the couch, Nachiket brought a chair for himself and settled down in front of Sameer.
"Forget me. Tell me about you. How are you holding up with the 3 week sex ban?" asked a grinning Sameer, looking at both Ragini and Nachiket. Ragini was sure her ears were burning when Nachiket spoke, "What are you talking about?" Ragini gave an awkward smile to Sameer, as if agreeing with Nachiket.
"You are forgetting you are MY patient. The doctor that you saw here shared your reports and his diagnosis with me," he explained to which Nachiket nodded.
"We're doing good. Not a problem," Nachiket said, sipping his coffee and looked at Ragini.
"Well, that's surprising," Sameer commented.
"Why is it surprising t you?" Ragini couldn't stop herself from asking.
"Don't answer that," Nachiket warned Sameer.
Sameer only grinned in response and started speaking, "As much as it disgusted me Ragini, I had to ask your husband a few questions about your active sexual life as part of the medical history, when he came to me complaining of headaches," he continued, "So, I know how hard this ban is for you both. I wish I could help though,"
"I can't believe I am having this conversation with you at 6 in the morning in my bedroom," said Ragini and refused to look at either Sameer or Nachiket. It took a lot of coaxing and apologizing on both Nachiket and Sameer's part for Ragini to forgive them. Sameer half-heartedly promised to never talk about it again and Nachiket promised to change his doctor as soon as possible.
Fortunately for the men, the kids arrived at that time.
Thanks Loveleen. It was nice. Did you retype the whole sequence ? Or is this sequence totally new from what you had typed earlier?
I hope that now when Nachiket goes for his check up, he is declared well.We need some Sunny Tai moments too.
