'Nachiket, you're useless', she said as she playfully hit him on the shoulder and proceeded towards the cashier with a dress she had finally selected for Suhani.

She rolled her eyes as Nachiket rushed to her side and tried to pay by his card but Ragini cut him off by giving the cashier her card instead.

'I don't need your card, Nachiket', she winked. Nachiket bit his tongue. It was just plain out of habit that he had reached for his card, forgetting that this was Ragini he was dealing with. With Ragini,it was her money, his money and their money. She would never let him pay un-necessarily when she could spend on her own, and he loved that about her. He did not remember a single time when she had asked for his card when she went shopping. She was against credit cards and had never kept one.. she made do with debit.

Nachiket smiled knowingly as he tried to peek into the bag to see what kind of dress she had bought for Suhani as his palm spread on the small of her back without him realising. She loved the warmth of his palm and leaned back on to him as they walked out of the store.

'Did you make sure you bought the other dress? Your dress?' , he asked cheekily.

'Nachiket!'

'What? I'm only confirming!'

She pulled his cheeks so hard that he almost yelped out in pain. She smiled at him and rubbed his left cheek before giving him a soft peck.

'I love you, husband', she sighed..

'Come on now, I want to spend some money on you', he winked as she burst out into laughter and wrapped her arm around his as they walked into another expensive store.

They walked into a jewellery store he had not bought her any expensive jewellery for a while and he loved seening her wearing diamonds.

He watched as ragini looked around the store then she turned to him "nachiket lets go" "whats wrong nothing you like" she looked at him she was never comfortable with him spending so much on her. "I don't need any more jewellery" he walked past her and to the counter and asked the lady to get some necklaces out.

Ragini went and stood next to him he picked up a necklace and "ragini stand here" he went behind her and put the necklace on her on his fingers touching her neck and moving down her shoulder blades he whispered "well do you like" she opened her eyes "its beautiful" "not more beautiful then you" she smiled "it will go well with your dress" she blushed he kissed her ear and moved away. "We will take this necklace and the earring" "nachiket its too much" he grabbed her hand "my turn to spend and spoil my darling" she smiled at him.

"We need to set some rules,"

"What rules?" They were waiting at the counter as the necklace was being packed.

"Only one expensive gift in a year, bas," she said to which Nachiket looked at her incredulously.

"Bache abhi bhi pad rahe hain.. unki padhai.. fir unko settle karna h.. unki shaadi..kitna kharcha h," she explained. Nachiket looked at her for a few moments and then burst out laughing. Ragini looked around and saw everyone in the store was looking at them. The same time the salesgirl brought their package and she pulled him outside the store.

"Hasne ki kya baat thi? Sab hamein dekh rahe the," she admonished him.

"I love you so much, dear wife!" Nachiket said, grinning and draping his arm around her shoulder.

As they made there way back to the car to head back to the hotel, happy, smiling, laughing at what how the past 3 hours had turned out to be. They had behaved like college kids on a date, experiencing the bliss of having each others complete attention and being together.

Nachiket: "Kya soch rahi ho?"

Ragini: "Bechara tumhara friend.. I feel bad for him"

Nachiket raised an eyebrow in doubt

Nachiket: irada kya hai?

Ragini hitting him on his shoulder: Nachiket!

Nachiket: Ok, maro mat.. achcha ye batao, disco mai kya pehen ne ka plan hai?

Ragini: Woh dress toh nahi! Please haan Nachiket zidd mat karo

Nachiket (taking her hand into his, with a deep voice): Nahi karoonga.. tum chudidhar kurta pehenna.. Just like in my dream..

Ragini looked at him adorably.. and was emotionally speechless. They reached the hotel, where the kids were already seated by the pool waiting for them.

"mom! mom! mom! bag mai kya hai?" Agaam came running towards his mom to hug her,
Ragini kept quite because she knew that if the kids found out about her dress they would never stop making fun of her
"batao na mom!" agaam insisted
"nai kuch khaas nahi bas..." and she was interupted by her eldest son Ranbir who said "arey chod na agaam tujhse kya matlab hai?"
"come idhar baith merai saath" thankfully ranbir got the message that something private was in that bag due to his moms face
"pheww" ragini sighed rather loudly, which then nachiket looked at her and smirked...
ragini had to get rid of the bag quickly! and the only way to do that was to make up some excuse to go back to her room...
