They looked through each other's eyes and got lost until the sound of water overflowing from the sink disturbed them, Nachiket hurriedly turned it off and she got the mop to clean it up. Once done with the dishes Nachiket changed into his track pants and started walking out of the house.

Part 3

Nachiket was just about to walk out when he thought of Ragini and stopped, he wanted to ask her but then decided against it. It was then that Ragini noticed him going out and called him

"Nachiket..."

He stopped and turned "hmmm?" he asked politely.

"Who tum kahan..? I mean koi kaam tha?" she asked

"Nahi who bas aise hi mai roz khana khan eke baad bahar walk par jaata hoon, weather bahut accha hota hai is samay" he said.

She felt disappointed that he was going alone but didn't show it and turned to go.

"Tum nahi aana chahti?" he asked softly and she brightened up and smiled to herself and turned to face him

"Main abhi change karke aati hoon" she said and walked away but not before noticing the smile that was reflecting on his face too.

Together they started walking on the silent street beside each other enjoying the companionable silence. They kept smiling shyly at each other and kept walking till Nachiket saw an ice-cream stall

"Want to eat an ice-cream?" he asked her she was reluctant at first but then said yes as she knew if she said no he wouldn't eat it either.

"Great" he excitedly added and held her hand dragging her to the stall. By now even Ragini was not feeling awkward that he had held her hand. It was when he ordered the ice-cream that he noticed that he had only one of his hand free, he let go of her hand suddenly feeling slightly embarrassed. He took the cone from the stopper and handed one to her.

As they finished it and started walking home the weather began to get chilly Ragini came closer to him to feel warm and finally entwined one of her hands with his. He looked a little surprised at first but when she just shrugged her shoulders to feel warmer, he just held onto her hand more tightly. Soon they reached back home and retired to their room. And it was when that they drifted to sleep that the lightning started raging outside. Nachiket was peacefully sleeping but Ragini was scared to her wits end. She was feeling lonely as she saw Nachiket sleeping peacefully. So when the thunder struck soundly again she turned and clutched Nachiket causing him to wake up. He half turned to see her scared and then turned fully to face and put an arm around her to make her feel secure. Ragini just clung even more tightly to him, feeling safe only when his arm encircled her waist and brought her close. She let go of her fears and snuggled closer to him feeling strangely safe and secure.

When Nachiket woke up the next morning he was not at all surprised that Ragini had not let go off his shirt the whole night. She was still clinging to it for safety and sleeping peacefully with his arm around her. Slowly he removed his arm but her grip on his shirt was too tight to take it out without waking her up. So he finally removed his shirt and let her sleep. The moment he removed it completely she twisted and hugged the shirt with all her might. Chuckling softly he made way to the gym.

Ragini woke up soon to find herself alone on the bed hugging his shirt. She blushed at the sight. But then she hurriedly walked out of the bed. She reached the gym after sometime and sat beside him again humming, Nachiket was happy that he would remain in her company now so he started doing his workout with a renewed interest.

It was a surprise for him as his clothes were already laid on the bed and he happily went inside. He soon came out to the kitchen to cook make breakfast but to his surprise Ragini was already making it. He reached out to help and she denied, he remembered his own antics the other day and smiled. They both had breakfast together after which he left for work again.

He reached his hospital to find in his cabin a note kept there by his senior doctor for meeting him as soon as he came. He reached the cabin and the doctor handed some files to him.

"Dr Nachiket, we need to check this file of a patient admitted recently"

He politely added "I would like to finish this till lunch" Nachiket asked

"Nachiket your lunch time has been extended now it will be from 1 to 3 so you can go home everyday" he smiled naughtily. Nachiket remained a bit puzzled.

"Nachiket don't look like that I don't want lose a sincere doctor just because he can't spend time with his wife" he smirked and laughed softly, while Nachiket turned red in embarrassment. But still without saying anything else he sent him to work again.

Nachiket told Ragini that he would be coming for lunch early from now and he would bring something. Around 12:30 Ragini messaged him not to bring anything from out as she had made the lunch already. Nachiket smiled as he packed up his things and walked out of his office. When he reached there Ragini was already waiting for him on the door. She took his things and made him settle on the table where they ate in peace discussing the events of the day. Just grabbing an opportunity when Ragini was not looking he picked up the vessels and headed for the kitchen and she followed, she tried to take the dishes from him but he firmly denied

"You worked more than enough already" he said. Ragini pouted and he continued washing. It was almost 2 when they finished and Nachiket sat down to relax. Ragini sat beside him on the sofa and asked him why was he smiling so much, he said "Nothing bas Sir ne..." and then trailed off. She was puzzled but kept it to herself

Soon he got up to go for office again and Ragini bid him goodbye.

At the evening...

Nachiket reached a little late from the office and found that Ragini was sleeping on the table waiting for him. He smiled and walked inside, and came back after warming up the food. He sat down beside her and then woke her up slowly, she sat upright guiltily

"Sorry who bas..."

"I understand maine bhi tumhe phone nahi kiya "

"Exactly tumne phone kyon nahi kiya" her temper rose up. Nachiket was surprised but he continued

"Woh meeting thi isilye..."

"So what meeting thi toh kya mai har waqt tumhaara intazaar karti rahun khane pe" she rudely added. Nachiket also had enough of it

"Kisne kaha tha wait karne ko, maine to nahi kaha tha, tum kha kar so sakti thi, main khud hi khana kha leta"

"Dekho Nachiket..."

"Kya dekhun, agar mujhe itna sab sunna padega isse accha toh main khud hi khana bana leta"

"Fine jo karna hai karo, khana hai khao nahi khana hai mat khao" she stood up and walked inside, even Nachiket stood up and walked out of the house angrily.

It was almost midnight when Ragini got up again unable to sleep due to an empty stomach. She got up to see that Nachiket was not beside her, worriedly she walked out of the room towards the hall. The food stay untouched and Nachiket was sleeping in a sitting position. Firstly she was worried that he hadn't eaten anything but then her anger struck her back as she remembered the fight earlier. 'If he doesn't care why should I?' she thought and ate some of it. She kept the rest of it in the fridge thinking that he would eat it when he would feel hungry and went inside.

It was morning when she woke up, she looked at the time and found that it was almost time for Nachiket to come back from his workout. She hurriedly stood up and walked to his wardrobe to take out his clothes for the day. So she was surprised that pair of his clothes was already taken out. She walked to the kitchen to make breakfast but it was already made and even a dish was washed up which she assumed from which he had eaten. She looked in the house to find that she was alone. Even more angered at his going away like that she settled herself on the sofa to read a magazine.

Nachiket entered his cabin an hour earlier. He had woken up before hand today because of the empty stomach and when he had found that she had packed the food in the fridge he had gotten even more furious. He did his workout angrily, took a shower, cooked his breakfast, ate it and even washed the dishes and walked out of the house. He didn't want a scene in the morning so he hadn't cared to wake her up. He was working on some files which slowly took over his concentration though he waited for her to call. During the lunch time also he didn't go home and had lunch in the office canteen itself.

Ragini sat the whole day bored and angry, because he had already finished the jobs for the day before leaving and still hadn't called her. The lunch time was even more boring as she had expected him to come home at least. But her anger rose up more when he did not come home. She ate her food unhappily and left the rest for the night.

Nachiket returned late again today but he didn't go to his room. He straight went to the kitchen and cooked something for himself, ate it and then without making a sound went out. Ragini watched all this and got even more angry, but before she could say or do something, he had gone.

This new routine continued for a day, and both were ready to blast even if they would have talked to each other. Things would have continue the same way if it had not been a Sunday, Nachiket had even requested his boss to work in his cabin only but his boss had realized from his changed ways and staying late in the office that something was wrong and had denied it.

So Nachiket was forced to stay in the house for the whole day. He woke up and walked straight from the hall to the gym. He worked out for an extra 2 hours and would have done more if his body wouldn't have given up. He silently entered his room and without even looking at Ragini sleeping he went to take a shower and then continued with his work. He decided to stay in his study the whole day as he knew he wouldn't have to face her then.

On the other hand Ragini was feeling that she had enough of his attitude and decided to put the matter an end. She waited the whole day to catch a glimpse of him but he had closed himself in his study. It was evening and she had decided to enter the study and confront him there itself.

But as soon as she entered the study, he came out too with same resolution to confront her and they crashed into each other, Ragini fell and he caught her again. They shared an eye lock for a moment but the whole anger came back in one wave. She straightened and pulled herself back and shrugged his arms off her rudely.

"Can't you see where you are walking" she shouted again

"No I can't but can you" he answered back in the same manner

"Just because you are husband now does not give you a right to talk to me like that Nachiket" she continued but he cut her off "yeah but it does give you a right to insult me. Anyways leave it, I don't feel like arguing today" and he turned in the direction of the hall and started walking but she held his wrist and stopped him

"But I demand an answer to my question Nachiket" she called rudely again. He took her hand off his and dropped it

"I didn't hear your question either" and he went away leaving her even more annoyed.
