Nachiket checked into the hotel and absent mindedly moved to his room. Suhani was better tonight , with great difficulty he could convince her to wait till she recovers completely and he tells her the story of his past, their past..
He did not want to go to Karan's home tonight..He did not want anyone to disturb him, to talk to him..this night had to be his and only his. To reflect on the past and contemplate how much of it and in what form can be told to suhani.
Nachiket settled down on the couch with a drink. He had not taken a sip from it and hours past..
his eyes were moist, heart heavy and mind full of thoughts and flashbacks from the past.. How could he forget that eventful fortnight when his life changed forever. Or should he say his life finished..he stopped living since then. Life meant nothing for him without Ragini in it.. Ragini, the only lady he ever loved..the lady he still loved but hated to admit even to himself!
Rupali was just a passing phase in the life of the young and dynamic doctor much before he met Ragini. He liked Rupali of course! She was pretty and smart but she was nowhere close to the person Nachiket was looking for to settle down with..to anchor his life against. To grow old with, have kids withs. And then he met Ragini..he couldnt stop himself from thinking about her The thoughts of Ragini brought tightness to his chest and bitterness to his heart..Ragini! How could she of all people think that Nachiket-her Nachiket could cheat on her.. He started sobbing uncontrollably. The horrible memories of past refused to leave him alone..Pam never liked Nachiket marrying Ragini from a middle class family. She kept in touch with Rupali and kept inviting her over to their place.. Ragini dnt like it and Nachiket knew..he was torn between his love for Ragini and his love for his sister. He never spoke to Rupali beyond pleasentaries and hoped Ragini knows how much she means to him..
and then one day he got a call frm Rupali..she was in the hospital breathing her last.. Nachiket had no choice but to honour her request of seeing her in her last moments.. Rupali handed over a new born child to Nachiket and pleads with him to bring her up like his own 4 kids. Before Nachiket could ask her more about the father of child etc, Rupali passed away leaving a new born kid in his arms.. Nachiket brings the kid home.. Even in his wildest dreams he could never imagine that Ragini could suspect that he was the father of the child..He knew Ragini was very posessive of him, so was he! He couldnt tolerate another man looking at Ragini with his admiring eyes. But he could never imagine Ragini loving anybody except him. Then how could Ragini! How could she even think that he could have cheated on her with Rupali! How could Ragini think that he was not a dedicated husband and father..that he could love another woman even in a weak moment? The thoughts still brought back the old anger and feeling of hurt that he always felt..
He had decided to call off the marriage. His friends Karan, Dimpy and Rk had pleaded with him to get a paternity test to prove to Ragini that he wasnt the father. He adamantly refused If she did not believe her Nachiket, then there was no point in getting any tests done! He had made up his mind..he was walking out of the marriage. He was half hoping Ragini would stop him. She would tell him she had just got jelous and had imagined the worst..she knew her Nachiket can never do this to her.. none of what he wanted happened..he was left alone and angry with Ranveer Aagam and now Suhani to take care off..
Nachiket jolted back to the present day.. How does he tell Suhani that her mother is dead and he is not her dad? Anyway the truth cannot change his life anyone, Ragini is gone for good and married to Dr Aman now. But Suhani has a life ahead..the truth will break her. She would be devastated to know that the people she considered her own family are not related to her at all..that her life till now was based on a lie. Nachiket couldnt do that to her little princess..
If only the conflict was so easy for him to resolve.. He still loved Ragini..he had missed her every moment of his life for the past 15 years. Even though she had claimed to have moved on, he was still pretty much stuck in the past! He still wished Ragini would come back to her life and everything would be perfect like it was before.
He had no answer to this conflict.He had fallen asleep on the couch. The resolution to the biggest conflict in his life had to wait a little longer.
