In yesterday's episode Neel takes side of that which has proved to be right.Going backwards- slapping his son and telling him not to call him Papa till he seeks forgiveness of his mother , telling Ragini she is right and he is wrong, righting things with Nishi's in laws and also taking Dr Aman and friend Karan with him. Nishi on the other hand is puffy faced throughout till she comes to know the marriage is on.Out of all their children Aarav's twin who lives in America shows the matured understanding of his fearlessly truthful father and his principled mother .Nishi flung accusations against her good mother when things went wrong for her and Aarav ranted and fumed with dissatisfaction about his plight in India because his girlfriend walked out on him and the mother couldn't get him a bike. As for Ranbir his character under his suave exterior is weak and manipulative. Ragini's good influence nor Neel's strength of character doesn't seem to have any clout.. The children are what they are. Pam's possessiveness, animosity towards Ragini, Nivedita's scheming wiles to ensnare Neel ,American environment,Indian environment, parent's intrinsic values and strength of character seem to have no bearing on any of the children except one. This is what I find a bit alarming .

Thanks for your post.
What you have mentioned is all too logical. None of these things have been considered while penning down the story, I feel. And now, some things have seriously gone out of hand.

All, the CVs can do now is damage control.

I am hopeful about Suhaani and Aagam, though.

Some will also inherit traits of the Bua, grand mother too !!
Nishi - Some Bua, Some Naani and some Papa

Ranbir - Some Bua, Some Mama

Aarav - Some Papa, Some Mama, Some Naani

Agam - Mostly Mama and some Papa

Suhaani - Mostly Papa, Some Mama , Some Naani

😆

Hahahahaa true..
Only Pam seems to have had the most influence.. Aarav and Nishi are misguided and disillusioned for the moment.. They'll be brought back in line..

Suhani is most similar to Ragini.. That's how Ragini might have been before the divorce changed her..

too true- several of us have done our bit of ranting against the weak sketches of the kids' characters. they are too one dimensional and have no empathy- i have never met a kid who is so wrapped up in themselves that they aren't aware of their parents- that happens pnly if they r on drugs or something terrible like that!

@Bold - Doesn't it then hint to the fact that Suhaani is Ragini's daughter?

I find the characters real and not the usual goody 2 shoes. The children were divided by their parents like property and that says a lot about the parents - self absorbed. Divorce is hard on children when they are all together with one parent, here they are bound to be screwed up it surprising the two created at least one child with empathy.

Having said that some of the twists are illogical, but I will leave that for another discussion!

The show can't be logical at all.
Let's just see what's in store for us!

I have seen teens who are not on drugs and who come from stable families that get self-absorbed during those terrible teen years (just like the terrible twos) and seem to lose sight of the world around them. Not that they are bad or are going to do something majorly wrong just that they cannot see beyond themselves. Apparently they come out of this in their 20s or so I have heard ;) One of my aunts told me once that aliens take the kids away at 15 and leave little selfish monsters but switch back the children when they are in their early to mid 20s.

That said, Nishi is shown as basically selfish but she might be so wrapped up in this love for Jignesh that she cannot see beyond her nose. Hopefully, she snaps out of it.

As for Aarav, he did erupt but also did apologize to his mother. In that moment of disappointment, he lashed out, wrong but human.

Aagam is a doll!!! And so is Suhani.

Ranbir, I think is not weak or manipulative, he just comes with a lot of baggage, he is the oldest, probably missed his mother the most, resented the fact that she gave him up and Pam was there to do the rest. My bet is, he will be back in the fold first before even Nishi and Aarav realize their mother's goodness. Familiarity breeds contempt goes the saying and here familiarity has made the two overlook their mother's trials in bringing them up single-handedly. They resent that the dad's kids have all that they need (material things) and more whereas they have been deprived by their mother so naturally it becomes all her fault.

The characters are not cut to mould and I am liking how they are being developed. Would love it more if Nagin disappears off the face of the show.
