Hello, I'm Jesal! I am not new to this forum per say but I rarely ever post here on the IPKKND forum. Admittedly I read lots of fanfictions on this forum and I love alot of them. I recently thought of an idea for a fanfic OS ever since this whole IPKKND 3 came about. I just finished rewatching the show again and I'm filled with nostalgia. So I wrote this for the upcoming Anniversary for IPKKND, I hope you enjoy this OS.
Note: There will be changes in perspective throughout the OS, so please read carefully. Tell me if you were confused by any part.
ArShi OS - Our Perfect Ending
*************************************
| Prompt: Arnav and Khushi have lived their lives, had children, and grandchildren. Now they have grown old, happily together. |
Arnav walked into his room. His cane guided him to his bed. As an old man clad in white garments, he walked slowly to his bed. He watched his wife sound asleep. Once Arnav made his way to the other side of the bed, he put his cane to lean on the table beside the bed. Arnav slowly got onto the bed. He laid beside Khushi, who wore a clad in white, and relaxed himself laying on his side facing her. He soon found himself smiling at her sleeping form. A magically wind blew, everytime he stared at her, the world seemed to stop.
Arnav noticed some hair that was out of place on Khushi. Arnav pushed the hair back behind her ear. Admiring her beauty, another smile made its way to the Laad Governor's face. Arnav began moving his hand, placing it in Khushi's hand. It's an old habit, to sleep with Khushi while holding her hand. It brought peace to Arnav, to hold her as he slept. As if the nightmares went away without a trace. Arnav's gaze did not break.
Even with wrinkles on her face, to Arnav Singh Raizada, Khushi was still the most beautiful woman in the world. She is his one-of-a-kind nautanki, his to tease, pleasure, and love for all of eternity.
Khushi's eyes opened slowly. She felt her lover near her, her heartbeat began to flutter. Khushi, being awakened to Arnav's smiling face, put a smile on her face. Arnav admired her radiance, it washed over him like a Moonlit night. Providing light to his darkness. They spoke to each other without words. A single look spoke a thousand words. They didn't need to say anything. They were happy, at peace. Khushi tightened her grip on Arnav's hand.
As they stared at each other, memories flooded them. Khushi began to recall the day she first met Arnav. A cruel man that ripped her dori in sheer anger. A cruel man who did not listen to her pleas, to let her go home. That day is remembered vividly for them. Khushi hated this man, but as fate would have it, that same man became her lover. Devi Maiyya is funny that way, isn't she? No matter what happened or what they did, they always ended up in front of each other. Devi Maiyya ordained them together, tested them at every turn, at every step. She paired them together against all odds, joining them together to form an inseparable bond. Neither truth nor death could stand in their way.
Arnav also began to remember the day Khushi met him. How Khushi fell into his arms, how he misbehaved with her and ruined her life, forcing her to move from Lucknow to Delhi. Arnav began to remember how Khushi reminded him of his own sister's broken marriage, how she made him feel something, things he didn't want to feel. Anger and hatred that warped him, took away his cool and rationality. Arnav expressed his regret of that day, he gave her a pearl string as a gift to say sorry, he won his wife's heart through sheer sincerity, hugging her to ease the pain that he had caused in the past. Removing the thorns that caused so much ache and sharing a cure. To forget old memories and make new ones. Finding solace in the future and moving forward hand-in-hand together.
Khushi began to remember when Arnav insulted her and her elder sister that day. It rang in her head, he accused her of ruining his show out of money. He said that it doesn't matter if one leaves, they'll trap another one. And as fate would have it, ironically, it was Arnav himself, who played the biggest hand in ordaining his own cousin-brother to her elder sister, and that too of his own free will. And even now, Aakash and Payal are happy together, all thanks to both of their efforts.
They both recalled their first wedding, where Arnav forced Khushi to marry him after he misunderstood her. Arnav told Khushi he hated her and that deserved the pain she was feeling, but every single time someone else hurt Khushi or insulted her, he could not tolerate it. It burned him to see her in pain. It burned her to bare his hatred again after falling in love. However time passed, so many things happened in 6 months. Misunderstandings were cleared, love replaced hatred once more, and a new relationship was formed, this time by choice.
"I still remember the day of our Sangeet, the day you proposed to me. The day you danced as if no one was watching, you smiled and got down on one knee asking me to marry you, and I happily accepted. I remember telling you we would look back on this day years later. I meant it when I said I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. There were so many memories to make and moments to live with you, and looking back out our lives, I enjoyed every single one of them, because whether they were good or bad, I spent them with you." Khushi thought to herself as her heart began to swirl with a mixture of emotions that proceeded her. Khushi felt like she could start crying from happiness. This is the same man who had forsaken God because of this painful world. But it's euphoric, life had broken him the way it had broken her, but when they got together they became whole. They completed each other, became their other half - their better half.
Arnav went through the same mixture of emotions as Khushi, while she gazed at him. "I remember on the day of our wedding when I learned how our pasts were connected and Dadi saying that in the coming days I would come to regret marrying you. A part of me worried she was right, I feared that I would have hurt you again for something that wasn't your fault. But in the end, I didn't regret a thing. I love you, I still do and I always will. I enjoyed spending every moment of my life with you, whether it was arguing or raising children together, I wouldn't have it any other way." Arnav shifted in the bed slowly, he moved closer to Khushi. He felt a cooling sensation from Khushi. That's how it was. She always brought him to ease, made him smile and laugh. Khushi took Arnav's anguish and showered him with happiness, with every moment that they spent together, she showed him how to live life while smiling, live with pain while laughing. And together, they created a prayer together, to remember their pasts and keep their parents close to their hearts, and remember them whenever they feel lonely.
They shared so many memories, sweet and sour. Each one reflected onto them that filled an ocean deep. From when they first met to this moment now. From small moments like that time Khushi ended up going with Arnav to Nainital by accident, and then he scolded her, or times like when Arnav teased Khushi about their impending Suhaag Raat and flustered her to the point that she couldn't think straight. To things like Arnav finding Khushi in his closet and vice versa, or times when Arnav held Khushi's dupatta, forever confusing Sanka Devi as to whether or not her Laad Governor actually grabbed it or it got stuck to something. Every fight, every loss, every win, and each moment they submitted themselves to each other by staying in each other's presence. They shared those moments together, and no one can change that. It will be forever etched into their hearts.
Arnav and Khushi's heartbeats, that always beat as one in each other's presence, began to slow down. Their eyes closed, they fell into deep sleep. They slept with their smiles still in tact, as if nothing in the world has the ability to turn them into frowns. The heartbeats became slower and slower. It was time. Arnav and Khushi were dying, but there was nothing to fear from death. They had lived their lives to their heart's content and it was time to go. Their journey in this lifetime was over. If it were possible, they wish that they couldn't die so they could spend the rest of eternity together, so that they wouldn't be apart from one another. Both of them always feared death would take the other away from them, but there was no reason to worry anymore, they made their vow as they walked around the sacred fire seven times, they would be bound together in seven lifetimes. They had lived their lives. So now, here in this moment, they need not be afraid of death anymore because they want to believe that they will see each other again. Arnav and Khushi couldn't wait to spend their next lifetime with each other. Both souls will long to see the other again, but this relationship they share will follow. That's how much they believe in each other, in their love.
Arnav and Khushi stopped drawing breath. They died peacefully beside each other in their last moments. Holding hands one last time with a smile, not letting go. It was time to leave. To become stars that watch over their loved ones from above. To walk into the next life. Death, which seemed like a cruel aspect that tore them from their loved ones, had given them unison in the after-life. They found unison in both Life and Death.
The spirits of Arnav and Khushi arose from the bed. They appeared as they were when they were younger. They shared a small chuckle together as they gazed at each other. They looked together in the distance. Getting out of the bed, they began to walk. They were walking together into the light, into their next life, hand-in-hand just like they had their entire lives.
Such a story is an enigma. Two souls that walked in two different directions. Two worlds that would never have met under normal circumstances. What started as a relationship of pure hatred, turned into one of true love. A bond that will resound throughout time and rest in the hearts of many. This is a story of two broken souls that tried to find a name for the love they share, and succeeded.
This is the story of Arnav Khushi.
The End
*************************************
I seriously hope you enjoyed that, because I'm not ashamed to admit that I have a few tears in my eyes when I think of this type of ending so close to anniversary. This is actually how I wish ArShi's story ends. A happily and positive atmosphere. Literally my emotions are all over the place. I'm ArShi trash, send help.
P.S. I feel like this isn't long enough to express my feels. Let me know if the size was good enough.
