Chemsitry!!!! (DT Note pg. 5)

Totally agree with u dear...
I felt the same when I saw the series.
I know it has limitations, as it's a short series...
The story was intense and touching too.
But I didn't felt any chemistry btn them.
That's where it lacked.
I too felt it will be more intense with Jenny other than Sanaya.

I've also commented on the tanhiyaan feedback thread and I'm going to say it on here as well, I am not a die hard ipk fan, yes I watched it but at the end of the show the storylines were so bad that I give up. Chemistry between a lead should be felt by the audience from the word go, regardless if it is 10 episodes or 100 episodes. If we are comparing it to a web series and I don't know if I can mention this on here so please feel free to delete mods, but ive recently watching another web series call the trip, the chemistry that shows between Lisa Hayden's character and her friends brother is really good and it shows from the first shot, yet they've not even touched here and the same is with Sapna's character and the the guy who plays the hotelier in the show .what I'm trying to say is interaction between the actors should captivate the audience with the word go. To be honest there only a few that are saying surbhi and barun didn't gel well in that department so surley there was something there which obviously I failed to see. Besides that they are both good actors barun is obviously the strong one and it then becomes hard to match his screen presence so although surbhi is good he needed a more stronger actor with him to create that impact.

Totally agree there are was no spark and magic which we usually felt while watching some romantic scenes surbhi is hot but she didn't looks good with barun I felt if it had been sanaya then it would have been Blast... and even story line was also not different ... more than surbhi I like the girl who was portraying Tanya.

But the only thing which kept me hooked is Barun he was awesome but still missed ASR attitude which I liked most.

Agree with every word of your post... anyone other than her would have been great... they had zero chemistry.. he looked like he's trying hard acting and he was so effortless in ipk and other projects.. even that short film with krithika was many many times better than this... having said that, I felt he's the only one watchable person in that series.. what was gul thinking making this.. that consummation scene was awkward ..they looked awkward ... even the supposedly chic uber ultra modern set up and the fancy words didn't create any magic... gul must have thought it out as a youth based story ... which still lacked any lightness to it.. and she could have chosen a pretty actress.. surbhi is a good actress but pales in front of Barun.. in looks and in acting skills...gul had so many choices .. she favors surbhi ..but couldn't she really look at them.. .. they really looked bored almost in certain scenes.. surbhi seems having a nice chemistry with all her previous costars but this pair was not doing it for me.Gul can't ever erase Ipkknd or arshi .. the consummation scene in ipk gives me goosies even when I think of it... sadly , after watching this confusing content , I had to watch a couple of episodes of ipkknd , His other work to erase the after effects of this series...

You are comparing a 450+ episodes chemistry to a 10 episodes(under 18 mins each episodes) For me Barun and Surbhi slayed it.

It's only the hard core IPK fans don't like the chemistry that's because for them it's always arhi and only arhi.

Maybe we need to step out of the IPK magic to admire and Appreciate other things which both Barun and sanaya are trying to work as an individuals.

I think the whole issue here is the actors were good one stronger than the other not so strong but both were good and well recongnised in the tv industry due to their previous shows where they ticked
All the boxes required. If we put the story line to one side the problem here was the casting, now I don't know if gul&gorky actually did looks test with different actors or it was pretty much given who they were going to cast due to their popularity, if they went for the latter then more fool them you should never just go on your instinct. I tell you who i felt that had good chemistry and when watching them you felt yes something going to go on here ... vishal & rashi there presence wasn't shown much but you just knew something was there. So just because as director you feel two popular actors are a recipe for a good show then clearley they not thinking right.
