I wonder what will happen to priyanka and how she fits in the story.and what did Anjali do

Chapter -3

Anjali'!

Priyanka peeked through the door opening it a little & finding Anjali still lying on her stomach with her head tilted on one side , entered the room. Seeing the occasional shaking of her body, Priyanka realized Anjali is wide awake most probably still crying.

Hey Anju. Why don't you get up dear. Lets have breakfast. Today is Saturday nah. We both have an off day today. Lets go out today' Priyanka tried to cheer her up.

Anjali sat up & started questioning,How could you remain so calm & composed? I know you are hurting too. But you are not crying & behaving as if everything is normal.'

May be I have no tears left'.

I am so so sorry Priya. I just don't know what happened to Dadi & Maa. How could they do this to you. Why can't they see your pain.

What are you sorry for Anju? Everybody is hurting. Not only me. They have done nothing harm to me.'.

Talks were going on between Manohar, Arnav , Devyani & Madhumati. Manorama was watching Khushi feeding Aakansha. The little girl doesn't look traumatic any more. Rather there was sadness in her eyes. Her eyes. It was exact replica of Aakash's. & the smile. It's entirely matches to that of Payal. Manorama was smiling fondly seeing them. Devyani joined her. See Manu, our little khushi has grown up so much that she is taking care of another child. How time flies'.

You are right ma'. Manorama smiled remembering their past.

Anjali has always been the most pampered child of Raizada house. But that never make her rude or snobbish. She has made no difference between her own brother Aakash or cousin Arnav. It was always the three of them. Arnav's mother Nandini died owing to the complication caused during second pregnancy when Arnav was just 3 years old. Both the mother & child couldn't been saved. Arnav's dad Aniket tried to get over the loss of his wife & unborn child for his son's sake. But, he was a broken man inside. He tried everything, but the loneliness was eating him inside. Within few months, he became alchoholic & drug addicted. He himself resisted a lot for the sake of his son. But finally gave in. He was sent to a rehab . A year later when Anjali was born to Manohar & Manorama, Arnav felt, his sister has finally arrived. Though , he still missed his mother & will continue doing so, but atleast he has his sister now. So, what if Aakash is her real brother, but he is too her brother. So, more than everybody Arnav showered her more love.

Two years later Aniket was released from rehab. After getting released from rehab , he applied in different colleges & luckily got selected as a faculty in a Girls college , his previously experience of working as a faculty of History in Delhi University came handy . Aniket felt very ashamed to face his son. He felt as if he failed as a father. He stayed in the same city , sending money for his expenses , but asked Manohar & Manorama to take care of him instead. Though all these make Arnav quite distant from his father . But as years passed by with the initiative taken from both side, the distance was bridged only to lost permanently, when Aniket died due to heart attack when Arnav was appearing his +2 board exam. Arnav was felt quite lost during that time. His family got him involved into several activities to keep him busy all the time.

In 1^st year of his college, Manohar's best friend Shashi Gupta proposed him whether he could teach 8 years old little Khushi in his free time. Shashi & Garima Gupta were neighbours cum family friends of Raizada for a long time . Besides their elder daughter Payal was Aakash's classmate too. Though both of them were sworn enemies , reason unknown. After little hesitation Arnav agreed for Khushi's tuition.

Initial few months were tough for not only Arnav & Khushi but also for Raizadas & Guptas. Khushi didn't approve of such serious looking boring teacher who always scared her with his big round eyes, so she always runs away at the first ever opportunity. Whereas Arnav didn't approve of such a naughty student who always request him to play with her whenever she does her homework correctly & carries out prank on him , if he rejects. If Arnav looks at her with big eyes, she started crying. If he tries to be a little soft with her, she started her tantrums. If he scolds her, she went running to all the elder complaining about him. As if all these were not enough, she starts painting on the back of the t-shirt Arnav was wearing, when he was busy checking her copies. She used to paste stickers on his copy saying that all his copies looks boring just like him. She doesn't like his books, as they didn't contain colouful images that her book has.

But after few months things started getting settle down a bit. Arnav has developed immense patience to listen to her non-stop blabbering, when they took break in between studies. He didn't get worked up , when Khushi used his copies as her drawing book. He absolutely didn't shout, when she painted all his t-shirts with her sketch pen. He calm himself down when Khushi coloured all his walls with her drawings. He consoled himself by saying that he is not the only victim. Anjali & Aakash too couldn't save their copies or t-shirts or room walls from that little monster's creativity. Though everytime Guptas appologised embarrassed , but any amount of scolding couldn't change Khushi. So, ultimately when Guptas decided to stop Khushi to take tuition from Arnav, Khushi clung to him in such a way , as if somebody is going to snatch her favourite toy . But this threatening worked. Khushi didn't change entirely, but the amount of her monsterish behavior reduced. That means she spared Aakash & Anjali from further torture but not Arnav.

Manorama's musing came to a halt seeing Khushi asking Arnav to take care of Aakansha, so that she can get inside to help her buaji.

Manorama went & sat beside him. What does she calls you'?

Initially Khushi taught her to call me Tauji though Aakash & Payal resited , Arnav replied with gritted teeth remembering, how everytime Aakansha called him Taeee' (as she can't pronounce tauji'), it irritated the hell out of him.

Everybody burst into laughter. Arnav & Tauji. Like seriously.

Then'? Manohar asked controlling his smile.

Later , when she can pronounce properly, she calls me bade papa. Still I don't like it. It feels like, I have grown old.' With a fond smile on his lips , he looks down at the child on his lap & continued but now I have make peace with it'.

Can ... I take her ? Manorama asked unsure.

Ya, sure. Why not. Pia baby , see who is here. She is your dadi. Say hi to dadi. & look she is calling you. Why don't you go towards her.

Akansha was not really interested in meeting stranger. But she remembered what her parents always used to say to her. She should respect the elders. She get down from Arnav's lap to touch Manorama's feet, but instead got picked up by her. Manorama showered her with kisses & hugged her to her hearts content..

Khushi & Madhumati brought them food. The discussion regarding the puja continued. After sometime they took their leave saying , after consulting the pandit ji, they will decide the date for puja.

On their way back home, Manorama was feeling a little bit relaxed . Yes Aakash & Payal didn't made any contact with them in last 6 years . It was Khushi & Arnav who shared with them the good news & always send them Aakansha's pictures. But seeing the little girl grow up in pictures were never a consolation. Now that they met Aakansha in person, they want the baby in their house permanently. Want to see her talk, smile, laugh & grow up , all infront of their eyes.

Nice chapter... finally got a background about Arnav & Khushi... but ye Payal-Akash ka kya chakkar hai.. and ye Priyanka kaha se aayi!!
