My heart is broken for him from the beginning until the end of the chapter, with that last line of his letter.
"He was immensely glad that the Hisar military facility, being a community for military families, had a policy that allowed pets to be present. He had been worried that he would have to take Choco back to his parents' immediately if pets were not allowed, much like they hadn't been in his previous accommodations."
Are Choco and Munchkin alike?Did he find Munchkin too, in the same way as Choco? Is he not Jalebi's Munchkin? Or is it her cat, but he couldn't keep him in the base? Will he bring Munchkin here to keep Choco company? Is this the reason why NK hates cats? Didn't he collect any information from her phone? Couldn't he crack the passcode or password? (Please can you let him know that FBI is cracking the encryptions now.)
I want to be happy for him and Dr. Gupta, whoever she is (I'm hoping she is not Trisha). But to not be able to have any information of her for 6 years is more tormenting than knowing a little. He hasn't seen a photo of her that's for sure, either he would have recognised her from that photo or Dr. Gupta is not Jalebi.
Even during that meeting, her irritation reminds him of Jalebi. Wherever I turn, there's despair, yearning, sadness, eternal longing, a deep contemplation that is not resolved. Despite all this, this guy is so wonderful; strong in his beliefs, quick to act to make things better and apologise, open-minded and honest. Thank you for writing him this way.
Nevertheless, his letters are written in hope. He is writing to her in present tense, he still wishes for her, hasn't given up. Maybe I should follow suit and be more hopeful.
I have to say for me this is the most melancholic update so far.
May I also mention, that this update is very short? do you have to twist the knife and stop there?
By the way, why did NK leave him alone? I know Arnav had to go and fill the forms that he couldn't the night before, but NK could have kept his injured friend company. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Pablo are you still holding NK hostage? 😲😡
