PART 3. ARNAV RELIVES OLD MEMORIES - I
Arnav paced the room in annoyance as he wondered what to do next. Achcha khaasa seduction ka plan banaaya tha! All went to drain thanks to that phone call! Aur ab Khushi mere se aise dur bhaagti hai jaise mujhe chicken pox ya malaria hogaya ho! After the seduction plan, Khushi evaded Arnav so much that Arnav decided to not implement anymore plans till she became normal. But even after almost a week Khushi continued to avoid him, Arnav had enough. His patience was gone and he made his decision. He was implementing his next plan whether Khushi liked it or not.
As Arnav paced he wondered what plan to implement next. Seduction is out of question. What else to do? As he thought he remembered the first time they met, how he slowly fell for her and then how she slowly fell for... Idea! Arnav grinned in excitement not remembering that he was in his Office.
Aakash was about to enter Arnav's cabin when he saw him grin. Aakash gulped. Bhai? Grinning? Kuch toh gadbad hai! He did an about turn and scrambled off.
Khushi walked towards Arnav and her room when she crashed into someone. She fell down and brought the person down with her. She closed her eyes the moment she felt herself falling and now lying on the top of the other person she opened her eyes. And then her eyes widened. Hey Devi Maiyya! Yeh toh humaare husband hain! No! Wait! Future Former husband! Divorce hone waala hai, remember Khushi?
"Dekhke nahi chal sakti? Andhi ho kya?", Arnav spoke softly and for a second Khushi felt like she was 18 again and had crashed for the first time into Arnav during her sister's wedding. He had said the same thing that time too. But unlike last time when Arnav spoke the same lines harshly, this time she was looking at her sweetly and had said the same line so tenderly that Khushi could not look away.
"You know what Khushi?", Arnav whispered and Khushi looked at him with curiosity.
"Kai saal pehle aise hi hum takraaye the, yaad hai?", Arnav said softly and Khushi nodded.
Arnav continued to speak, "Uss waqt maine tumse poocha tha ki uthogi ya godh mein uthaaun? Yaad hai?" Khushi nodded wondering where Arnav was taking this conversation.
"Iss baar soch raha hun, woh offer hi na dun!", Arnav looked amused, "Tumhein godh mein utha hi dun!"
Khushi's eyes widened and she started to get up. But she was unable to as she realised that something was holding her down. Arnav! Arnav was holding her in his arms! His arms were snaked around her waist and holding her tightly to him. Hey Devi Maiyya!
"Chodiye!", Khushi whispered as she struggled to get away.
Arnav shook his head.
Khushi felt her anger brew, "Arnavji! Chodiye! Warna humein ghussa aayega aur hum lad padenge aapse!"
Arnav smirked at her, "Achcha?", Arnav looked amused, "Tum auratein apne aapko samamjhti kya ho? Jab dekho ladne ke liye ready rehti ho! Lagta hai ladne ke siva kuch aata hi nahi hai tumhein!"
Khushi's jaw dropped open as her mind remembered their second crash when Arnav said the same thing to her! Hey Devi Maiyya! Yeh kya ho raha hai!
Khushi had enough, "Dekhiye Arnavji! Humein chodiye! Varna..."
"Varna kya?", Arnav cut her off, his expression and voice still reflecting laughter and amusement, "Kya karogi? Mujhe maarogi, peetogi ya kiss karogi?"
Khushi felt her breath leave her as she remembered not just the moment in their third crash when he had said the same thing but also their almost kiss a week ago.
"Arnavji! Aap humein chodte kyun nahi?", Khushi almost whined.
Arnav simply smiled at her, "You did not say please, so I did not move!!"
Khushi's eyes widened. Hadn't he said the same thing in their third crash during Paayal and Aakash's wedding? Yeh kya ho raha hai yahaan? Devi Maiyya! Aisa kyun lag raha hai jaise hum chaar saal peeche gaye hain! Jaise hum apni Jiji aur Jijaji ki shaadi mein hain aur Arnavji se pehli baar mil rahe hain! Arnavji yeh sab anjaane mein bol rahe hain ya sab jaan boojhkar? She continued to look at Arnav with shock and speechlessness.
After thinking a lot, Arnav had realised why the seduction plan failed so badly. It had failed because he had jumped directly to seduction. As far as he remembered there were many things happened before his Shirtless waala plan as he had dubbed it. Using that plan right away was wrong, Arnav realised. It took her four years to fall in love. He cannot expect one plan to make her fall again. He had to ease Khushi into it. He had to do it step by step. And Arnav decided he would do exactly the same thing he did last time, same plans he used then and in the same sequence so that she will fall in love with him the same way she fell for him six months before the marriage.
But Arnav was not interesting in waiting for 4 years before anything happened between them. No thanks! Already the wait was long enough! No need to double it! So he decided that he would choose only some of the plans and go through it faster than he did last time! So crash waala plan it is! And if I get to keep her in my arms, that's just bonus!
So here was Arnav Singh Raizada, lying on the floor, holding a baffled Khushi in his arms and quite happy with himself. And to this scene Naaniji arrived.
"Yeh kya ho raha hai yahaan?", Naaniji asked as she looked at them with confusion, "Neeche letke kya farsh saaf kar rahe ho? Aur Arnav bitwa, tumne Khushi bitiya ko aise kaahe pakad rakha hai?"
Both looked at Naaniji with wide eyes and then looked at each other. Arnav let Khushi go and with embarrassment on their faces, both scrambled to get up.
As they stood up, Arnav looked away while Khushi fiddled with her dupatta, both looking distinctly red. Naaniji finally realised that she must have intruded in some private moment after taking in their expressions and looked at them knowingly, "Arre bhai! Romance karna hai toh aapan kamra ma karo! Yeh raste pe kya hai? Aur kamra ma bistar hai! Farsh pe letne ki zaroorat naahi hai!"
That did it! A red faced Khushi ran away from there. As Naaniji observed a running Khushi, Arnav sneaked away. Naaniji shook her head. Kya paagal hai dono! Kamra chodke hallway ma romance karat rahe hain! Uff! Kya karein hum inn aaj kal ke bachchon ka!
As Arnav walked off, he had a smirk on his face. He did it! His first plan to relive moments was successful! Khushi remembered the crash! Now next plan! Which one should he use? Hmm...
Two days passed as Arnav waited for the right opportunity to implement his plan. And finally the day came. Arnav overheard Naaniji, his Di and Khushi talk and he knew his opportunity has arrived. Khushi was asking Naaniji's permission to go to her friend's house to meet the friend's newly born baby in the evening. Perfect! Arnav smirked and first sent a call to Aakash's secretary and made sure Aakash's schedule was full in the evening. Busy raho Aakash bitwa, warna Naaniji tumhein meri Khushi ko chodne bhej degi! Aur yeh main hone nahi de sakta! And then he happily gave all the drivers leave for the evening. Aur meri Khushi ko toh driving aata nahi! Ab aayega mazaa!
Evening time came and Arnav arrived home early only to get a request from Naaniji to drop Khushi at her friend's house as rest of the drivers had gone home and Aakash was busy in the meeting. Arnav grumbled a little but agreed and swiftly walked to his car. If anyone would have seen him, they would have seen a happy smirk on his face.
As Arnav and Khushi drove off to Khushi's friend's house, Arnav spoke up, "Kya tumhein yaad hai Khushi?"and Khushi looked at him. Till now she avoided looking at him, but at his voice she could not avoid him anymore.
"Kya?", Khushi asked in confusion.
Arnav smiled tenderly and for a second Khushi felt her heart skip a beat, "Kuch saalon pehle main tumhein aise hi College chodne aaya tha! It was your first day of college here! Yaad hai?"
Khushi nodded but did not smile and Arnav mentally sighed. Plan flopped. Lagta hai maine jo tease kiya itne saalon pehle woh ise itna bura laga ki it is not a good memory for her! Koi baat nahi Arnav! You have other plans too!
As Arnav drove, Khushi looked out of the window and remembered that day when Arnav had dropped her. She smiled as she remembered how on the first day he had teased her that she will be ragged in the College and everyone speaks English only. At that time, Khushi had been so scared. And then when she came to know that Arnav had pranked her she had gotten so angry. But today remembering that moment only brought a smile on her face. And before she knew it, Khushi started laughing.
Arnav blinked in surprise as he heard Khushi laugh. He turned around and saw her laughing, "Khushi! Kya hua?" He asked in worry. Khushi shook her head and bestowed him with the brightest smile. Arnav felt his heart skip a beat at that.
"Aapko yaad hai Arnavji? First day of college, aapne humpe kya prank khela tha?", Khushi asked with twinkle in her eyes.
Arnav's eyes widened. She remembered! And she is laughing about it! Yaani ki plan worked! He gave a relieved laugh and was surprised to notice that Khushi was laughing with him.
"Arnavji! Aap bhi na! Koi aisa prank kisi ke saath karta hai kya?", Khushi pouted and Arnav shrugged, "Arre! Main kya karun! Tum itni dari hui thi! Main kya aisa chance chodta!"
Khushi nudged him lightly while pouting and Arnav chuckled. With lighter mood, both reached Khushi's friend's building. As Arnav drove into the parking lot of the building, Khushi gathered her bags to get down. As Khushi was about to get down, Arnav grabbed her hand. Khushi turned and looked at Arnav with wide eyes. He gave her a tender smile, "Main tumhein ek ghante mein pick up karne aaunga!" Saying this, he placed a kiss on her hand. Khushi's eyes went wide and pulling her hand away, Khushi ran off.
Khushi felt her heart beat increase as she ran into the building lift. As she pressed the button rapidly so that the lift door would close faster, she saw him stare at her intensely. Khushi gulped. Hey Devi Maiyya! Yeh kya hua tha! Humse shaadi karke khush nahi toh haath kyun chuma? Aur iss tarah kyun dekh rahe hain abhi? Arnavji! Please don't play games with me! Kabhi baahon mein lete ho, kabhi haath ko choomte ho aur kabhi dil aisa todte ho ki hum use sau saal mein bhi na jod paayein!
As the lift door closed, Arnav wanted to bang his head on something. Kya bewakoof hoon yaar! Achcha khaasa has rahe the, baat kar rahe the, yeh kiss ki kya jaroorat thi! Hui na uncomfortable woh! Bewakoof Arnav! As he berated himself, he looked up and noticed the lift door close. Lift door! Idea! Next plan ke liye idea aa gaya! Perfect! He dialed Paayal's number and asked the flat number of Khushi's friend. As the call disconnected, Arnav smirked. I am coming to get you in one hour Khushi! Aur building kya, tumhaare friend ke ghar ke darwaaze pe aake tumhein pick up karunga!
