Ok. I watched the episode a good while after it was put up. I confess, that the camera angles made me laugh & the direction made me cringe. But then, it was over. The pictures started flashing by & Kyun dard hai itna played in the background, & it hit me that it is over. However good or bad this product, IPK Ek Jashn had been a small way to reconnect to the original & celebrate it. And, it was over. And, that was sort of bittersweet. I gave up on Indian tv post IPK, couldn't connect to any show. And, now, despite the bad script (script...what script?) of the Jashn, the less than flawless state of the episodes, if something comes out of brand IPK, I will still look forward to it. Longevity is the name of this obsession with the show.
And, 3yrs later, Arnav-Khushi are still bickering, making up, loving & living it up. And, we got a glimpse of that. Not many fandoms get such a treat. Fandoms come & fandoms go, but IPK fandom seems to only get more vocal & seriously, insanely awesome. The kind of diversity it exhibits is enough proof that there was something about IPK that many, many connected with. Something not many shows had.
I have my fingers & toes crossed for a new show with these guys. Come on people! Give me something to watch on tv.
And, what a wonderful take on the Jashn, Anu-ji. Loved it.
