Arshi OS: The Talk *Note on Page 3*

"Tumhe pata nahi Di ki halat kya hai? Unhe lagtha hai yeh sab tumhari wajah se hua hai. Tum phir bhi unse milne chali gayi? Why damn it?"

"Tum soch bhi nahi sakti main Di ko aaj kis halat me dekha tha. Sirf main jaan thatha what I had to do to stop her. Taaki who kud ko kuch nuksaan na pahunchye. Agar main sirf ek minute late pahunchtha na, tho..."

"Haan Hua hai... Yeh sab tumhari wajah se hua hai... Jab se tum aayi ho tabse..."

"Tum meri zindagi me aayi kyon? Main tumse mila hi kyon? Sab kitna acha tha... Aur Sabse important baat Di khush thi"

"Di aaj bhi phele ki tarah Khush hoti..."

"You are the biggest mistake of my life Khushi Kumari Gupta. Kash main tumse mila hi nahi hota."

His words kept reverberating in her ears. The pain in those words so palpable that she could feel it still. True their hearts were one and that increased the pain; in seeing him hurting and vulnerable. Knowing she was the reason for his pain now. Her chest hurt, making it difficult to breadth. She sat there unable to stop the pain arising in her. The anguish in his voice killing her every second. She sat there without a caring about the cold air nipping her skin. The tears flowing from her eyes refusing to cease. She had wanted to talk to Anjali but wanted to give her some time to cope up with the betrayal. Seems she has to talk to her now. Her Arnavji mattered more right now. Nothing and no one else. As for his accusations, she will think about it later.

Khushi got up determined to make her Arnavji's pain reduce if not vanish. And his happiness resided in his Di. She will try as much as she can to bring his life on track. She hesitated for a moment thinking about her family or probably they are just his family now. Were they ever hers in the first place? She wondered. But that was not what was important. She had to talk to his Di. Now.

"Anjaliji..." Khushi entered Anjali's room with a file in her hand to find her sitting on the bed, leaning on the headboard and staring at the ceiling.

"Patti saree why did you come her? To see if our bitiya is dead or alive. Have you come to kill her?"

Manorama Raizada threw the words like arrows. It hurt her to see her Anjali bitiya so broken. Khushi ignored her words and went towards Anjali.

"I want to talk to you alone Anjaliji." Anjali turned her face away. But Khushi did not move from that place.

"Can't you see that she doesn't want to talk to you Khushi?" Manorama interrupted.

"Mami it doesn't matter if she wants to talk to me or not. I have come here to say something to her and I will. She has to listen to me."

Saying this Khushi nearly pushed mami out of the room and locked the door.

"Anjaliji. I know you don't want to talk to me. And I am not going to force you to. Just listen to what I have to say and decide on what you want to do with your life."

Anjali remained silent. The presence of Khushi reminding her the disgusting things said about her husband.

Khushi's voice took on a cold tone as she addressed Anjali.

"Did you think of anyone except you and your pain before taking your decision today? The person you believe in; the person who you treat as God; do you really know him?" Anjali stiffened. This was a question a wife should never be asked. Khushi saw that though Anjali feigned to ignore her, was listening to her.

"You say your husband travels a lot. Why does a lawyer travel so much? Let us assume that he has clients in various cities. Why does he stay there for weeks together? Do you even know where his office is? If he has so many clients that he has to keep travelling around, where is the fee that he gets? Or is he running a nonprofit organization? Have you ever tried to find out where all these money go to Anjaliji?" Khushi could see that Anjali was genuinely confused. Khushi paused letting the words sink into her.

"You might say it is his money, why would you ask for it. But why does he take money from your joint account for all his expenses? If he works so much, he would of course earn well. Then why is his credit card still charged to Arnavji? Why has he not taken you to your own home? You very well know that a girl goes to her husband's home after marriage. I am not saying you staying here is wrong. But have you ever wondered if he was worried about your feelings or his luxury? If you don't have answers, by that I mean, concrete answers for all these questions, then read this file Anjaliji. You will know." She did not want to hurt Anjali by proving that she knows nothing about her husband. But these are the questions that will show her what a swindler her husband was. And Anjali has to know it. At least for the sake of her Rajkumari.

Khushi placed the file near Anjali on the bed. A file that contains all the proofs that she had collected against Shyam with NK's help.

"Stop thinking as Anjali Shyam Manohar Jha and think as Anjali Singh Raizada. Arnav Singh Raizada's sister. The one who was instrumental in setting up a huge business with limited funds. The one who managed things so effectively to show a huge profit in the first year. The one who believed in herself. Think as that Anjali. You will realize what you should do."

Khushi slumped on the chair near Anjali's bed. The words that Arnav uttered ringing in her ears.

"I know Anjaliji somehow I am also responsible for your state. And I am sorry for that. You would never know how many times I have wished I was never born." Anjali's startled eyes met Khushi's.

"Why does this girl say this? She is so full of life seeing goodness in every bad situation. What had happened in her life that she wishes to have never been born?" Anjali thought to herself but did not voice it out.

"Think about your brother Anjaliji. His world revolves around you. No no... You are his world. Your one hiss will break his heart into pieces. Your one wish, he will lay the world at your feet. He never does something that will hurt you. One time he went against your wish and you threw him out of your life? Did none of the other moments matter Anjaliji? He has always been your shield. He will fight the world for you. But if you hurt him, you sideline him for the wrong reasons in your life, especially for that scumbag of a husband you have, he will be shattered." A tiny sob escaped Anjali. Khushi paused unable to continue. The pain in her chest increasing many folds.

"if you think Arnavji threw your husband out just because he loves me, then please be assured that it is not so. It is you who matter to him the most. No one else. Not me certainly."

Anjali gave her a dubious look; not really believing her. She has seen the love shining for Khushi in Arnav's eyes. Wasn't that the reason for their hasty runaway marriage? But Anjali was not so sure now. The forlorn look on Khushi's face saying an entirely different story from what she believed.

"Arnavji married me to save your marriage. Our marriage is not forever. Our marriage is a contract marriage for six months. And it will be over in a month's time." A gasp escaped Anjali's lips.

Khushi controlled her sobs. She continued. "It was only for you that Arnavji married me. But I personally feel that you are better off without that scumbag of a husband. I mean nothing to him. Even if you don't want to live, try to live for your Rajkumari and your Chotte. They both need you. He had forbidden me from talking to you. He is so worried for you and his happiness lies in yours. He is not at home right now. Do talk to him once he comes. It would give him some peace. I will leave before that. Not just this room but your lives too. Take care Anjaliji."

Khushi turned around and opened the door to leave the room. She had done what she could to make Arnav's life better; to reduce his pain. Now everything is in Anjaliji's hands. Before Anjali could come out of the shock that these revelations pushed her into, they heard a thunderous voice shaking their very core.

"Khushi..."

Khushi turned to Anjali and let out a mirthless chuckle. "I wouldn't be surprised even if your brother killed me now." With that said, she got herself ready to face the angry lion.

Arnav entered the room fuming. He held her shoulders in a tight grip and spat the words at her.

"Khushi what the hell are you doing damn it? Didn't I just warn you to stay from my Di?"

He moved towards Anjali.

"Di... Are you fine? Don't listen to her Di. Only your health is important now. Don't worry about anything Di." Khushi looked at Anjali her eyes asking her, didn't I say you are his everything. Seeing Anjali looking at Khushi, he went to her held her arms in a tight grip again. Khushi shrugged him off. Anger taking over her senses. She spoke to him in a calm cold voice.

"Mr. Raizada, don't you dare manhandle me. I would have taken all your insults silently if you had not thrown me out of your life without a single thought." Looking at his confused expression, Khushi repeated his words.

"You are the biggest mistake of my life Khushi Kumari Gupta. Haven't you heard this statement somewhere? I wouldn't have minded even when you said I am the biggest mistake of your life. But everything that we had or that I imagined we had was over when you called me Khushi Kumari Gupta. I have done what I thought I should do. Now it is upto you and your Di to decide how you want to live your lives. Good bye Mr. Arnav Sigh Raizada."

With that said, she exited the room with her head held high. Her stance oozing confidence. Confidence that she had done the right thing. She left them alone to battle their demons. She knows that when these wounds heal, Arnav will come back to her and that she will accept him. For now she had to go away from here to let their wounds heal.

With that thought in mind, Khushi left Shantivan and her Arnavji, hoping against hope for a bright and happy future.
