Hi, all. I'm new here, having discovered IPK only in August 2014 (when I came across some scenes in YouTube) and the India Forum around October/November.

I'm from Australia. At the beginning, I watched most episodes in Hindi, with no subtitles, guided only by written episodes, found in the punjabijunktion and desi-tashan sites. Despite this, I fell in love with IPK. It is the first serial I watched in my entire life, even so that I was born and grew up in a country of soaps, Brazil.

With much search I was able to find many episodes with English subtitles (mostly from a Turkish downloader, name Geece) and I have downloaded all the 398 episodes in my computer. Unfortunately, before I started downloading, some of the episodes, which I had seen with subtitles (Life Ok) had already been deleted from YouTube.

Kathleen links led me to a few more episodes with subtitles and last week I found some more on tune.pk.

Sohara - The main reason why I'm writing is because, when I searched for the episodes, what I noticed was that those with names dissimilar to the original program were the ones who seem to have survived. That was the case with the ones from the Turkish downloader and also some I found with French subtitles. Therefore, my suggestion to you is to create a new name (Kathleen named hers BTFP, which I thought was good)

While I have been a silent reader, I have absolutely enjoyed the efforts you guys are putting in reliving IPK, through the Blast From the Past threads. It is sometimes difficult for a foreign to understand the cultural context of a program and the write-ups of the episodes, from different perspectives has certainly helped me. A request: please, translate the dialogues in your posts.

Thank to you all and keep it up!

Back again. I'm not sure how to reply to a particular post, so I'm posting this here.

Thanks BarunDiwani for your reply and for the kind suggestion that it may be possible to get some help with translation/ subtitles.

Katelyn will know it better than me, but for the first 100 episodes or there about, there are very few with subtitles. I had seen some (from Life Ok), which in the meantime have been blocked by YouTube.

There are also episodes (such as some the in Katelyn's links), which were subtitled by private individuals. I appreciate that much time has been spent doing so, and it is a real pity to have them later removed/blocked by YouTube and other upload sites.

An alternative way, which is used in some subtitle sites, like uksubtitles.ru is to post the subtitles as text files, completely separate from the videos. In that cases, only the dialogues and the corresponding timeline are recorded. The advantage is that subtitles written as text files, would not constitute copyright infringement, ensuring longevity of the work.

I'm not sure if that would be a task worse considering, so long after IPK finished, however I will leave the suggestion here.

Bye for now and thank you all again for BTP.

Hi BelaSYD.

Few years ago a book entitled "The world is flat" came out from Thomas Friedman on globalization. For me, after IPK, the world seemed flatter than ever.
So very glad to see another non- hindi speaker appreciating this show that too from last August. Around which time all the online content started to disappear. I am very glad you actually found ways to download in these rather adverse conditions. Welcome to the world of IPK.

You are right about content NOT having original names surviving, and also about the text files subtitles. I know some who did those episode wise text file subtitles for our non hindi speaking friends.

to quote a post, you have to hit on the orange "quote" button on top right of the post you want to quote.

Take care, see you around.

Hi BelaSYD!

A big welcome to Blast and thank you for sharing your story.

You could reply to someone's post by clicking on "Quote".

I'm a non Hindi speaking viewer too. I fell in love with the show around February 2012 after a friend's high recommendation. And I've been here in Arshiland ever since and not going anywhere anytime soon.

I've managed to download all the regular and subtitles episodes. I started last year after seeing how Youtube had started to block all the videos. At that time, I've found some on Youtube and Dailymotion. Now they are all gone.

That Dailymotion account belongs to me. The links that I share are marked private because I wanted to stay undetected from blocking. So far, I've been lucky. And those videos aren't translated by an individual. But I know Turkish subs are done by private individuals. I've heard about those subtitling sites before because a few Thai dramas viewers spend long hours to translate the dramas. All their efforts payoff because Thai dramas are getting more popular and I've seen a person from Brazil watches Thai drama and discussing the show on a Thai forum. Rarely do I see an individual translate Hindi dramas. Not sure if anyone wants to take over that ginormous task since there are so many episodes.

Good to have you here! Visit us anytime.

Ami, last night I ran out of time to talk to indi and Kizh on this one.

I was going to put forward the exact genetic mechanism that leads to .. Naniji..😆

The thing is naniji's will pass on her X chromosome to both her daughter (mom) and son (mamaji) and mom will eventually pass onto the man in action...😆.. so yeah ultimately its coming from Naniji only...

Anyway why are we wasting time on genetics when when pool side pullwa and kiss wa are calling...😃
