hi kizh,

bhelcomes to our kkg protest morcha. how they trashed a lovely girl.

is that what ipoona wrote? what a thought, wonderful.

almost no tv heroine makes me think and feel or want to be anything like her... khushi did. in fact, my husband saw something of me in her instantly. i am a 54 year old crusty large tradition questioning rough woman who wears strange white linen shirts and baggy long skirts, no choti, who is everything not acchi bahu. yet.

sanaya took the basic sketch of this girl and instead of seeing her as cute (as most do and kill the character with saccharine interpretation), felt her innate zany, her modern pulse, her depth and her pure and completely owned sanak.

then the creators decided we are dumb, we wouldn't notice what happened. gautam hegde has had the cheek to make fun of the audience and also the arrogance to claim he knows who she is and he is doing the right thing. when he changed her age just like that., he shrugged off all protests and questions with a supposedly witty comment...

i have to say, i wish sanaya had protested somewhere along the line, barun started to say things that showed his discomfort with asr. maybe she did, and everyone just carried on regardless.

this is the girl that takes on asr... pushes him in her anger and says, oh yeah your lives are important, not ours? she says "aap shut up..."

she is hope, she's a story of overcoming limitations, she is about courage, and she is instinctively a person who can give, who can love. the greatest strength that loving heart.

she does not take part in things called mrs india contest to prove her worth... actually, they played silly games with her career all the time anyway.

and how they transformed a mainly laughing, giggling, loving, overcoming, fighting back khushi to a mainly crying one, just plain dotty from time to time. nah, they just couldn't take her strength, they had to cut her down to size. woman, know your place... and don't try to be too strong and powerful, samjhi tum.

ah without the khushi we met how would asr ever really be all of asr...

how she got under his skin, ofhohoho. he couldn't run away, no matter how hard he tried. that girl sorry would not bring shyam back, nor ignore her husband's dhakdhak factor. oh i loved her vamping hi in black saree and sanak mode. every once i away a glimpse of ladki, aafat ki pooriya.

i think we should put all this together and do a separate post for this lovely young woman.

The Mehsoos...the pull
by BarunDiwani

It was there always, since June 6th 2011, the magnetic pull to each other, the mehsoos of each other. the attraction, the need to stay attached...yes the first collar grab happened on their first meeting, long before the guest house incident.

He had closed his eyes unable cope with memories of his surroundings at Sheesh Mahel, and his painful past he refuses to move on from. She had been pushed on to the stage by accident (or was it?). It was then that a strong unknown feeling prompted him to open his eyes, a feeling that causes him to pause and think for a moment, before his eyes went to her. She had also closed her eyes after calling out of her beloved Devi Maiyaa but as she opened, the feeling may have reached her too...perhaps not as strongly as him. After all he would be the first to recognize this incredible feeling that would draw him to her.

Devi Maiya had decided it was finally time Khushi Kumaari Gupta met her destiny and Arnav Singh Raizada met the biggest deal of his life. She had a beautiful fall and fell into the arms of her destiny and he caught the biggest deal of his life. They stared at each other, certainly not the "love at first sight" look but confused by this pull, but still got lost in each other, the attraction on fire... His eyes moved to her lips, while her hands found his collar...then there were fireworks, nice touch CVs!!

"Phir aap ke rajkumaar kahaan hai?"(then where is your Prince?)

an inquizitive boy had asked Khushi earlier after she had showed herself a rajkumari(princess) for a school function. Right then she knew to look up at a chopper that made noise announcing his arrival. The rajkumar's. but She was on a scooty grounded, he was flying in the sky. She believes and in usuls (value) while he thinks they are for fools. She is all about "zameer" (concious), while life has taught him from early on to kill it even if it's there. Seemingly different as night and day, but it's this pull that will always remain as their biggest friend and enemy and take us on an unforgettable journey.

There was another pull in this first episode that sucked all of us right in, and no sight of letting go anytime soon, or ever. The show truly deserves a grand celebration, for it has actually changed lives, bought people together and most of all continues to feed the soul even after its ending.

Happy 3rd Anniversary IPK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lovely piece meri sauten⭐️👏 like a whirlpool of jalebis sucking them in into each other...begging gulab and kanta, dhoop and chhaon to co exist...as should be, as created by DM... the mehsoos, that was their destiny was there right from the beginning...without even a word spoken they were pledged to each other and we to them and (me to you😆

OK, if I can go the other end of the table and rant my peeves post remarriage..

It was asr. I gave up on Khushi long time ago by then.. it started with those silly antics post that temple marriage..and surely drowned the day she brought shyam back WITHOUT ever having a word with ANYONE!! So if the shyam whole GH saga were to repeat again she would exactly do the same thing again??!!!! never mind his "tumne mujhe batana zaroori nahi smajha" .. at many many levels.. emotional.. practical.. put asr through that terrace hug again.. I bet his response would be different.. even then he went head on with Shyam, anjali and even almost khushi.. there is a tremendous character growth.. where is that for her??

So yeah.. i was hanging onto this show through/ for this man.. and then comes Shyam's second ouster.. asr was a dummy??? Who suffered THE most becos of Shyam? it was HIM.. and he was very much there when anjali married him.. so who goes through the guilty, pain, .. remember he went through the hate marriage too.. not just khushi.. and he went through a kidnap too to top it...and then the business tycoon with every thing at the tip of his finger would this leave this man to a stage drama played by his silly/ dramatic wife?? I have NO clue back then how the dynamics of daily soaps work.. but just didn't like him being pushed to the corners in the whole deal.. not becos I wanted to see this hot looking guy on my screen.. but asr as a man suffered enormous becos of his low lying jeejaji..

So the day khushi took the family to that movie .. it was al most all done for me.. nothing left to see. but then why it was so painful to deal with when it all came to a real end.. may be another time...

Indi, Arwen and kizh what an interesting conversation going on. I couldn't stop myself being a part of this protest. I totally agree with you all. CVs totally mess up khushi's character after her forced marriage with Arnav, I literally used to pull my hairs and was frustrated seeing khushi's character crumbling down. Before her marriage she was the Khushi which I adored from the episode when she stopped ASR in dargah to give him morality lecture and yes the guest house and the resignation episodes. But then the Fiesty, brave, ever laughing, out spoken and confident Khushi changed into crying one, even Arnav character was ruined. And for me the real, griping and strong character Arnav and Khushi ended when they departed from each other in the airport episode. I skipped the kidnap track and was just keeping myself posted of the current story.
Post kidnapping track when the contract marriage topic was brought I was elated that now I will see real Khushi and the story was coming on the track but dadi annoying presence ruined everything.
I wasn't at all happy with the progress and growth of their characters. And what I hated and still hates he most was the childish fight between Arnav and Khushi on dewali on money. OMG they are Arnav and Khushi, true that ASR didn't like dominated but he wasn't ASR anymore with Khushi, he was Arnavji, Khushi husband who could never think to taunt his wife on jalebis as her only skill. Dimaag, himmat and confidence, it was shocking to see Arnav using these three words to hurt Khushi. Didn't he once told her that he liked the way she is then how could both forget that. I hate that quarrel from the core of my heart. Mrs india track was nothing but a silly excuse to drag the story of IPK. Iss pyaar ko lost its essence in the end.
Yes Di, bring it on and do separate post for the awesome and super cool character of Khushi. Plan something for her in next thread. I would love to write something for her.

Yes, their undeniable pull towards each other.. in those few brief seconds.. scripting a memorable love saga ahead..

Khushi is all theatrical.. how can a man on the zameen attract her.. it has to be some one flying high.. litreally..

Thanks for the beautiful piece ami..

About a Love Story
By Horizon

He shut his eyes.. as if searching for that elusive something... questioning the Gods above about a whole frivolous theme of realization of dreams.. there she landed in his arms.. just as an answer...

A Love Story is Born!!

... As was never conceived... as was never created... as was never enacted... As was never loved...as was never missed and remembered...as this ONE...Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam doon..

A heart touching story of two Ajeebs... two pagals... two imperfect people...with conflicting ideologies of execution but essentially similar at the core... wading through a maze of rights and wrongs as dictated by their hearts...as they found each other for Hamesha!

Hard to recall that it has been as long since this story stopped visiting our living rooms every day as it visited.. 18 months.. not a very long period for any show .. but was enough to leave one in a complete awe and longing for a life time. Its not always that everyone in a team contributes to the best of their abilities...whole heartedly as they literally lived these characters...crafted/ chiseled this love story to perfection...that in the middle of a deluge of half-baked narrations on Indian television ..this story remained a piece of art...to treasure and cherish for long..

Huge round of applause to each and every one involved both on and off screen for creating this master piece the way they did... 4 Lions, directors, script writers, editors, last but not the least the actors, and a very very special thanks to the music director.. as music is the soul of a love story!

There may be many shows on air that makes one reminisce IPKKND but NONE that can replace ...the sheer perfection and aura.. such irreplaceability...the core trait of legendary..

Faraq padtha hai...aaj bhi...you are much loved and missed!

Happy 3rd Anniversary IPKKND!

🤗 Thank you Horizon...for delving into the core of the legendary. I was highlighting the feels that stood out for me in, and I find I have highlighted all of it! Thats because very word you said is so beautifully true and deeply heart felt. A perfect anniversary gift⭐️ to the makers and its audience and its ever afters👏
Every atom that went into the show was 100% pure gold. Its glitter not fake. Its glow light and heavy and warm giving that wonderful sense of poignant beauty and pride and belonging that only gold can. It cannot perish ever...

Indu what you write.. How true.. I felt really bad for ASR.. Here he had come back from a truly harrowing ordeal.. kidnapped..fearing from life.. away from his loved ones.. the very person he trusted and thought would take care of his ever important di turned out to be such a traitor.. Shyam had messed up his di's life and also dared to lay eyes on Khushi.. we know how much he tries to be responsible for everyone at shantivan.. the brother in ASR must be full of reapproach.. how did he not see the true face of Shyam.. how could he let his di be married to such a creep.. and the lover must be equally indignant.. why did he not find out the truth before marrying Khushi.. and more importantly why didn't he believe her when she tried explaining the truth to him?

I really felt Barun was exceptional in this phase .. well he is always.. His body language worn out.. Those sad eyes.. He wanted to take care of his di as he made the tough but necessary decision of throwing Shyam out.. And he knew he had to be strong for Khushi who herself was close to break down.. That one scene where both meet in their room silently holding on to each other lovely..

But all too soon poor ASR became the punching bag of everyone.. had to juggle a despairing di.. and a wife who was acting a little childish.. I mean she was hurt by what he said in anger.. but he tried so hard to make her understand.. Earnestly explained, flirted charmingly, laid out all that love out for her to embrace. i could feel him come alive as he tried to woo his lady love back.. She who was so easily forgave Shyam, she who was so readily accepted the supposedly illegitimate son of her husband did not see the true feelings ASR had for her. yes he was her apna .. the one person she need not be goody goody with .. can demand.. can expect.. but still I feel she took ti too far.. that night as she rejected him saying their marriage wasn't complete.. it broke my heart..

There were lots of small moments when her love did show.. even during the remarriage.. and rare moments after.. but really I always kept feeling bad for ASR.. Barun had always managed to make me identify with ASR even when he was being outright mean. Here he was being too sweet.. After marriage.. I jsut didn't know Khushi.. In fact there were times I wanted him to yell.. be a little rude.. stay angry for longer.. but always he indulged her.. adored her.. that look in his eyes never left him even when he hardly had any scene in the same frame with her..

Wish everyone had fought harder for Khushi and Arnav..

Wish everyone had fought harder for Khushi and Arnav..

Rhea, what/ how he felt after terrace was very realistic.. may be not dragging her onto the temple steps.. but how would he give the benefit of doubt to Khushi that he barely knew for a few months when his 3 yr much revered jejaji blatantly admits to foul play? He did say on the bridge that he wouldn't have believed her even if he talked to her that day. True he wouldn't have. I actually have no issues what he did in the rage of the moment.. but only he could have dwelled a bit, retro/ introspected after the heat cooled down.. the quintessential asr.. the man always torn between right and wrong.. sahi and galath.. where did that go? Imagine there were NO monologues after the rain hug... after the guest house.. before the sorry..would he have been as much lovable? for me NOT..to err is human.. but conscience is what separates humans from other creatures.. and THIS man had truck loads of that.. what makes this man dear...
Post kidnap, weirdest weird.. no one ever bothered to recognize how fortunate to have him in single piece.. yes Shyam's reality and Anjali's trauma was shocking.. but if anyone bothered to connect hints, just not Anjali .. he was dropping hints left and right for long.. actually it was only mamiji who doubted as early as some 15th or 20th episode if he had a second set up!
Yes the body language and the sadness in the face felt visceral...but post remarriage,. the man with the edge gone for a toss. some how just acting doesn't work for me.. I need both acting and supporting script .. that's why only the IPK of initial hay days worked like a charm.. but nothing else would..
