Happy Birthday to you, Vandana!

Wishes that come from the heart truly,
For a friend who has become family.
Classy and fabulous, you certainly are-
In a short time, we have come so far.

Our friendship to me is precious totally,
We love you deeply, crazily, madly!
So here I come to your party with gifts especially,
Pyaar aur mehnat se maine banaya affectionately.

Good food and wine are a must in Vandy's party,

One who enjoys her chai, vada pav and "chaats" with relish equally.

Here are some of those gorgeous jhumkas,

Let's wear them and do some desi thumkas.

Now to choose between boots or high heels,
Hmm...let's get both, they are both good deals'.😆

Of beautiful designer bags, one cannot have enough,

Meant to carry "stuff" but surely not to overstuff?😆

A fervent birthday wish I send your way, Vandana,
For the disappearance of a certain "bandana"!!!

Sending you the warmth of yellow sunflowers,

Reminders of the sun and Arshi's Holi colours.

Wishing you many more stories and poems to read,
An inspiration to many, you have taken the lead,
To encourage so many to put pen down to paper.
Virtually and in reality, we have shared many a caper.

Your way with words bring forth a gush of old memories.
An artist you certainly are with a palette of colorful treasuries.
Your poems make me smile, going straight to the heart.
Of many stories, they have now become an indispensable part.

What can I say about one of the nicest persons I have had the fortune of knowing here on IF. V - you have been such an inspiration for me and the only one i know of who has made an art out of commenting creatively. Your support, never failing, your creativity - ever inspiring, your kindness, ever strong and your wonderful heart - you are such a gem of a person. Anyone on IF would be lucky to call you their friend and any author who has you for a reader is more blessed than she will know.

Here's wishing you a wonderful birthday, V. I wish I had some time to write that OS on Swami that I could gift you today and finally fulfill the promise i had made. Alas, my asli duniya is at its zaalim best with no chance of letting up anytime soon. So I will still hold on to that promise and bring you Swami some other day.

But for today, from Swami, his hazel-eyed witch and the crazy author who penned them, wishing you a day, a year, a lifetime of happiness, warmth, love and good health. May you always have a reason to smile and the rhyme to celebrate.
