A Wink & A Scurry ... A FALL & A Sorry ... A Faint & A Flurry

A smile which spanned an oceans mile

A flutter which cemented a love's tile

A moment in which he came to Life

A moment in which she made it her strife

They say a smile can happen in a flash ... but can stay with you for a lifetime ...

Welcome to yet another edition of Reflections, a week of coming closer .. a week of understanding .. a week of barriers dropping .. a week of discovery .. a week of budding romance .. a week of a heart fluttering .. a week of evil lurking .. a week of evil triumph .. a week of well tons of action on IPK ... so much happened this week .. it will be difficult to cover it all .. so will as usual touch up on the important moments ...

So the week starts with the return of the prodigal ... La returns to SHANTIVAN ... on the most auspicious occasion of NAVRATRI ... but along with La comes in KHUSHI as well ... the rightful mistress of SHANTIVAN .. comes back to reclaim her kingdom ... & here in commences the battle of love ...

Both Arnav & Khushi are by now rattled .. Khushi who is the one closer to her emotions .. a person who truly wears her heart on her sleeves .. actually starts questioning the reason for those blessed tears ... the reason why seeing La in his arms brought a rivulet of emotion to pour out of her ... when she comes upon the chaos supreme Shantivan lounge ... the case of the missing plant ...

She has unerringly always known how to make him tick .. whether by trick or quick thinking ... she makes him bend to her will .. this time to save La ... now pause here a moment ... when she comes in to shantivan inbetween the chaos .. she encounters Arnav ... she is lost ...the surrounding around her is lost ... all she can see feel is Arnav .. all she can hear is their conjoined heart beat ... is it any wonder when she is jolted out of her reverie the first name she can think of is Arnavji ...

She blames the LOST POT on him .. & whoa he accepts the blame .. a man who loved blaming her KHUSHI for everything .. today accepted the BLAME She put on him & actually LIED for her ... shocker aint it ... But he to was witness to the tears ... whats more .. he knew the POT of Green that day was from her ... & what that POT of Green cost her .. he knew ... So while he acted like he did this for La .. he was doing this for KHUSHI .. hence the long pause look at Khushi after he Lies for her ..& takes the blame ...

lets c .. Arnav & khushi marry ... there is chaos which reigns in Shantivan ...so much so that Garima slaps Khushi ... now obviously the man who had his heart just trampled on could not show mushy love ... but he does the next BIG THING .. he STANDS THERE ... & belligerently tells all ... WE ARE MARRIED .. ACCEPT IT ... now remember how he makes the FAMILY accept her ... he lays down the LAW ... SHE IS MY WIFE .. WHETHER U ACCEPT OR NOT .. EITHER TOE MY LINE or I WALK ... A true Knight in shining .. (oops well) BLACK armor ..

By now Khushi who has asked around about her hearts flutter is all a flutter .. she is making excuses about what she is going through .. YES she knows what she feels for him .. but to accept those facts then .. would be to BREAK her OWN HEART .. Coz Arnav was out of bounds .. he was La's ... hence the dhak dhak & acidity talk .. Like aukaat was Arnav's shield the dhak dhak & Laad Governor are Khushi's shield ..

Now to the scene which to me was the scene where the first step towards TRUST was established between the 2 ...

The Ashtami kanya puja' ... Arnav discovering his house guests .. the 9 young girls ... & the subsequent brouhaha ...

Khushi goes along with the girls to apologise to Arnav .. which he in his customary style rejects ... but once again what touched me was the gentleness in his rebuke of her ...

Ok Ok pause here .. there is a GEM in this scene .. hope u guys caught it ... the kids call him jijaji ... he says I am NOT jijaji ... then one of the kids says ... HONE WAALE HAI KYA? ...& that SHUT ARNAV SINGH RAIZADA ... pause here .. he does not REBUKE .. nor does he SHOUT .. NOR DOES HE DENY ... the fact ki ... he was going to be Jijaji to them .. & the sister was apni KHUSHI didi ... very sweet interesting ... & downright yummy tid bit ..

Now after he rejects the apology .. the next moment he has to tender one himself ... his sister falls from grace .. & Khushi saves the day ... she calls for him .. but he thinks she is having fun at his expense ... but when he comes down .. he sees how KHUSHI had helped his sister ... a small part of the barrier around his heart got chipped away that day ... cause to LOVE ARNAV was to LOVE ANJALI ...

Then he tenders his own apology ... but the words were KHUSHI's ... his unequivocal acceptance of what she taught him that day .. was the FIRST STEP TO TRUST ...

The barriers were chipping away ... the hearts were beating in tandem .. their eyes could not contain their inner feelings ... & now the TRUST starts to build ..

A man who actually only ever did what he thot was right .. someone who hardly ever seeded advice .. yes he got manipulated by his sister .. he gave in to the tantrums of his nani ... but he always spoke what he thot .. today that man was patiently following the simpleton words of a simple girl .. he was taking her advice .. & following it to ... what's more he was changing his thinking of his life to fit into the way of thinking of hers ...

I am hoping all of u caught that slight twist of lips .. a start of a smile on Arnav's face .. when Anjali teases KHUSHI with Arnav ... this on the backdrop of just being called jijaji ... hmmm interesting isn't it ...

But the most interesting part of this whole KANYA PUJA episode is ... the realization of LA ... As she stands there ... seeing Khushi woo the kids .. as she sees Khushi woo Arnav ... as she sees Khushi perform the rituals of the puja .. as she sees the kids embrace Khushi & react to her innate goodness ... Heres the first introspection of La ... Whether she is the RIGHT RAIZADA BAHU ... note the tea drinking scene which follows as well ..

Ok Ok .. I have often enuf lambasted Sanaya for her poor acting .. but in this next scene she was outstanding .. the whole fumble when Arnav stops her at the door is simply stupendous ... loved it ... but pls pause here .. for the deeper meaning of that scene ... Arnav has just seen Khushi's devotion to his Di ... for Arnav the girl he would marry or embrace .. would have to love & embrace his sister ... the moment he sees Khushi help Anji .. he shows a bit more of himself to her .. he exposes .. he cares ...

Now for the famous laugh ... Wonder how many hearts fluttered that day in the forum world ...

Well from the beginning of IPK .. one questioned plagued me .. why was the hero shown as a diabetic ... did this question ever strike u .. if it did pls share ur view on it ...

The only thot after 398 episodes was ... Arnav was to be shown as a FLAWED hero ... A MAN capable of MAKING MISTAKES ... A MAN who was so STRONG of purpose & intent .. had to have one slight weakness .. he was diabetic ... A man who hated ANY WEAKNESS in THOUGHT & INTENT ... had to have One PHYSICAL WEAKNESS .. which he could not do anything about ... a divine weakness .. destiny if u please ... A man who always said .. I make my own destiny ... had to have destiny give him a slight jolt ... a day to day reminder that not he but someone else wrote his destiny ...

This small fact is the reason .. I called myself a fan of GUL KHAN ... the depth of characterization left me astounded ... she is the one who sketched the character called Arnav Singh Raizada ... & the character was FLAWLESS in its portrayal

Kudos GUL KHAN ...

Now back to the scene ...

So Arnav is left home alone with Khushi ... & he is getting into a hypoglycemia attack .. a very serious disorder ... so he goes to khushi .. who rebuffs him .. only to find him fallen on the ground in a dead faint ...

Now lets pause here ... For Khushi .. Arnav was laad Governor .. LG was an office given to a person who ruled the place .. a brit who ruled a principality in India .. a supreme being .. a LEADER .. a LARGER THAN LIFE PERSON ... That's what she thinks of Arnav .. a man so powerful in her mind.. that she termed the SHAITAAN & RAJKUMAR ... & she sees this guy .. tumbled on the floor in a dead faint ... this is her first realization that he is HUMAN .. he is flawed .. he has the SAME PROBLEMS a normal person has ... this actually the first time she sees him AS AN EQUAL ...

But the mother hen gene quickly takes effect & she saves her knight ... by feeding him her famous jalebi's ... She helps him up .. very tenderly sets him to right ... hovering over him ... her concern for him a palpable force ... her eyes .. screaming questions at him on his well being .. her concern of him rubs off on him .. he tells her ... DON'T TELL DI .. she will be worried .. I am fine ... aww what a wonderful way to set her at ease ... I AM FINE .. lets not give this Much thot .. he knew she was a worry wart ... but how much he is to soon find out ..

He goes to his room in preparation of a trip ... when she comes barging in his room ... & then the quintessential historical "BOBBY" romantic scene happens (BOBBY .. cause this scene first appeared in Bobby picture - Raj Kapoor it was an ode to his first meeting with Nargis the actress).

She is all over him in concern ... she keeps asking him about his health .. & constantly apologises to him .. her worry & concern a beacon around him ... a warm blanket surrounds his heart .. so much warmth that the ice wrap it was covered in melts ... & like the warm sunshine his smile breaks thru on his face ... her antics which before irritated him .. today made him laugh ... her antics which in the past made him scream at her .. today made him giggle ... her antics which in the past made him belittle her.. today made him SMILE ...

The other day ... when she gave him the pots of green ... he knew she UNDERSTOOD HIM ... (that's the reason he took her to the rose garden) ... Then the day he saw her helping his sister .. he knew she understood the importance of his sister in his life ... & today ... she finally shows him .. HOW MUCH SHE CARED for him ... The depth of her CARING FOR HIM shone through in each gaggle of laughter which burst through.

Was it any wonder the one person who was testament to the ICE around his heart was there to witness the melting of the same ... ANJALI ... a delighted sister ..a grateful sister ..

From here starts the long road of Trust & love for these 2 love birds ... the knight shines in full armor .. & the damsel accepts the help in full glory ...

Will keep the NANITAL sojourn for next week .. cause I guess aaj bahut likh diya ...
