ok so when I saw this thread I won't lie a few ladoos burst in my maan!(nothing like mixing good old fashion hindi phrases with English eh?) But I said to myself S you have wasted enough time on this show ... more than enough...
But here I am yet again...
I'm going to try to be very very brief.
Today I watched the episode and enjoyed it thoroughly. As a fan who was roped in very late in the show (around Diwali kiss) who then watched a marathon of all the episodes back to back (Thank God for long weekends) I missed the nuances that were captured in the beginning.
There is such a stark contrast between these episodes and the episodes towards the end or even some of the episodes during the forced marriage track.
What I loved in this episode was the unhurried way in which the story is unfolding, like the PH had no one to please and were not listening to anyone just looking at their characters which they painstakingly developed (and subsequently murdered ruthlessly).
Though I started watching the show because the hotness that is Barun I soon became a Sanaya fan. Look at today's episode:
Khushi first convinces her dad, not just emotional blackmail but she ask him for a chance to prove herself, which I don't see any father not giving their child.
Then she realizes that her childish dreams will not be materializing in the near future and bursts into tears, which activates the deep hurt within Payal who she has been nursing albeit secreatly and immediately when Khushi sees Payal tears she forgets about herself and is more concerned with making her sister feel better.
Payal also reciprocates, she is her fathers daughter Khushi is her little sister and that is all she knows.
I won't talk about the rest of the intricacies of the show just another scene.
Love how Anjali is shown being dedicated to her missing husband and then to her brother by warning him.
IPKKND was never about ground breaking suspense or immense drama. It was about the story being peeled off layer after layer, about each character having a part to play in the love story that was coming about.
However, there was big misses during the middle of the show, the only other time I saw such tight scripting was when Arnav was kidnapped, I wish that I didn't know where Barun was gone and when he was coming back, I would have literally gone mad with anxiety.
Its also nice to watch these moments and reminisce of the big moments that I loved days to come, because the foundation is being laid down right now.
This show just doesn't grow old for me.
