Indi, this is a very interesting write up. The protagonist - antagonist equation has always been weird. ASR was supposed to be dark, very dark. But, as the show progressed the darkness receded, the meanness, the I-don't-care attitude started dissolving as the proximity to Khushi increased. Whereas as Shyam's character was intoduced as a good hearted gentleman. But slowly, his varied colours started showing up, the evil factor in him increasing at every track, to the extent that now he has resorted to murder. But, as you said, why these hairbrained plans to kaput his wife? Somewhere, something went lacking. Even if he was trying to make it look like an accident, he couldn't come up with a proper plan. Guess, his brain was too twisted to think of a straightforward plan. No match for the shrewd thinking ASR, I agree. But still, he managed to make a dent to his heart. (Will continue from here when we reach those episodes)

About the scorpion dance, wow, the analogy you derived is amazing. Loved that part above in bold.

yeah twisted and curiously rustic... that too from another century. you know the kind of guy who took sharmila tagore to the brothel in amar prem (thanks durga, for correcting, not chhoti bahu)... there were often these creeps with a certain coarseness to them, the kind who'd leer at a village belle bathing from behind a tree and then say awful tings... yeah snake had that feel. i wonder if that were a part of his charms.

I even wondered some times if Shyam babua had a hand in bribing Saritaji NOT to turn up to the event... as always..he ended up being the Cupid ... just like he gave her that initial appointment letter to AR warehouse... or a through channel to ASR's heart!!

ad, saaru,

i couldn't take that drum sequence, actually even baskeball though he looked so ufff hot. because the story was all off, the character pulled out of its basic framework... and made star plus's accha beta type.

toward the end too many points were being made and the entire elegance of this almost urbane, smooth flowing love story just disappeared. instead a thobby, channel approved saga of doing "good" being "good." arav was just so not asr khushi, with or without sheetal.

and khushi ruining asr's bday then him running to please her with jalebi frying and apologies, oh my shatir man, oh my sweet jhalli, how could they do this to you.

Exactly, ya the same kind of creep. Choti bahu? I think it was Amar Prem. And that swine even kept taking money from her on the pretext of sending it to her mother, who had passed away much earlier. Good example Indi, I am getting similar feelings for both creeps. 😡

nahiiin. only done till 147, but will do seedha ramanchi and finish 160 now. then wotrk backward. see nk has appeared, some effect of that had to be there.
