Chapter One
Her head was tilted to a side, and the tip of her tongue was peeking from the edge of her lips, as she stood on her tippy toes to pull down the stupid cardboard box off the shelf where she herself had placed it two days ago.
At times like these, she wished she were taller. Not that she resented her height so much, but oh well few inches wouldn't have had hurt.
"Son of an ass, come into my hand will you?" she cussed as she stretched her arms to get hold of the box and finally successfully landed her hands on it.
She squealed in delight as she got it down carefully. She swayed trying to manage its weight and finally ended up on the floor, landing not so gracefully on her knees as she tried to place the box on the floor as gently as possible.
She let out a deep sigh as she collapsed beside the box, and wished to go back into her childhood. After all, when she was a child she enjoyed shifting into new houses pretty much. After all, back then she only knew the pleasures of exploring new places, making new friends and never had the headache of the enormous amount of dusting and cleaning that always accompanied shifting.
She knew she could call help, but she was a stubborn ass in issues like these. There was an excitement and a pleasure in decorating her home her way. She sat on the floor cross legged as she faced her new enemy, the cupboard box which was always lying in the store room ever since she knew, but which now was before her, ready to be explored.
In her quest of throwing away the unwanted stuff, she explored all that remained unaware to her all this time. Picking a pair of scissors she butchered it into the brown plaster and opened the box and coughed violently as dust flew around her like tiny specks of golden fairies.
"Exactly how many years have you been in dark dungeon my boy?" she asked patting the box.
It was nothing new of her talking to inanimate objects. Those who knew her pretty close knew that it was one of the crazy things she loved doing.
"Now here we go, going to be exposed to this big beautiful world" she said as she rubbed her palms in glee.
"One. Two. And here we go'"
Her hands froze through half the task as she heard onslaught of continuous buzzing of calling bell.
Looking back at the box, she sighed "Alright my boy, you have some more time to sleep. Go ahead, while I attend the guests" she mumbled as she got up and dusted her jeans, removed the scarf from over her head, making long shiny silk of her hair cascade down her hips.
She walked towards the living room, pulling her hair into a messy bun and was pinning few hair pins to keep it in place, while she opened her door, and her hands froze in mid air and her hair pin which she held between her teeth dropped to the floor as she saw the person before her, whose countenance changed too.
"Lena" she whispered as she came across her best friend after ten long shitty years.
She wasn't much into dramatics but watching her bestie had undid all her screws in her brain as she ended up squealing pretty loud, in which of course she was accompanied by her best friend and she knew not who made the first move but within a minute both were in a breath choking hug, hugging the living daylights of each other.
