Its natural for a celeb to hv fans as well as critics but the kind of bashing and all going on in this forum is way too much. "Constructive criticism" as we name it has certain limits and when ppl criticize actors/celebs they should stick to their professional life. Commenting on their personal life and comparing their appearance to animals or anything and passing those type of derogatory comments is indeed a very cheap and rude behaviour.
I hv also come across posts where members are making personal comments on other members. Even though they are bashers or anyone that doesn't give the right to other members to pass personal comments on them. It is even more offensive and leads to more bashing from their side.
The most important thing is whatever the bashers say here is not gonna affect the celebs. They are just wasting their time in all this mocking and bashing and we shouldn't do the same by responding to them. Just ignore them coz we know that for one basher our favourite celebs hv 1000 supporters.

Another thing is that whenever there is a post on Barun or Sanaya the opposite fangroup jumps in to bash the fangroup concerned. Why is that? If ppl dont like someone then they should keep away and even if they want to criticize they should be in their limits. Deliberately passing snide remarks and instigating the other fangroup to retaliate is not gonna raise our favourites or bring the other group down.

The members of this forum hv very sweet memories attached with this forum and its really sad to see the forum in such a state. Many members hv left the forum for the same reason. So my sincere request plz keep this place peaceful and worth visiting since we all want to relish the memories our loved show. Plz dont blame the MODs too coz as far as I know they are trying their best to control the situation and they are efficient which is why they are at that place.

Ppl may differ from my opinion and I do not intend to preach anything. I am stating my POV and to agree or disagree is on upon them.
My apologies if I hv unintentionally offended/hurt anyone.

I skimmed through the comments and I can see that few people are asking what's wrong in those threads we are talking about and why we are objecting to POV of a certain group. They are celebrities, why do we care?

It's painful to see your favorite celebrities getting bashed because they may not be forum members, they may be public figures but they don't cease to be human beings. Just because they are not reading these, it doesn't give anyone the right to mock or ridicule.

There is a fine line between constructive criticism and ridiculing but people have blurred those lines. Anything and everything can pass off as criticism and freedom of speech or some people make an attempt to do so.

Claiming that a person or a small group of fans personally attacked you doesn't justify mocking one particular actor for nearly half a year or taking it out on the entire fandom of an actor. If someone has attacked you personally, deal with that person, take it to the mods why target and make every single fan suffer for it?

Since we are talking about what can be considered as constructive criticism and freedom of speech maybe we should define what criticism and freedom of speech really is.

This forum is designed to discuss TV shows, movies, works of actors etc. Criticism is a part and parcel of it and so is freedom of speech.

You can criticize a show. Agreed.

You can criticize an actor's work. Agreed.

You can dislike an actor and express it too. Agreed.

You can even talk about an actor's looks to a certain extent as long as it doesn't turn to mockery.

Can you compare an actor to animals. Is that criticism? I don't think so.

Can you call his fans fanimals? I don't think so.

Can you talk about an actress in such a cheap manner. I don't think so. What sort of criticism is that?

It's about what's considered offensive by civilized society and many people find it offensive. I agree that along with appreciation and accolades, actors open themselves to criticism, bashing etc.

This is where rationality, sensibility and respect for a human being comes in. Just because some people think it is okay to do so, others don't have to agree with it.

Many of us never respond to such threads, we quietly report and simply ignore. But this has been going on for months and not every fan can deal with it. Even when fans politely respond to them, they get bashed in despicable manner, including fans who have never indulged in bashing.

Responding doesn't help in such cases, but many times fans can't resist it. Why should innocent fans suffer?

Saraa, Minnuu,

I think what we are asking is to address the following:

1) Does the DT agree that posts that mock/taunt/insult an actor to abusive levels to instigate and insult his/her fanbase is considered cyberbullying if done on an incessant basis or at the very minimum, against the established IF rules and COC? If it is not considered against the rules, then the rules of IF need to be amended because as they stand now, as I read it, it is and then this resolution is outside the realm of this forum.

2) If they are against the rules of the forum, while we can absolutely ignore said posts, what kind of timeline are we looking at for you to deal with it and what kind of consequences will the perpetrators face?

As I see it, we have rules, we do not have enforcement. Either change the rules or enforce.

The freedom of speech argument is moot. We have the freedom of speech to criticize in a civil manner. Laws against slander and libel and defamation exist so that we don't abuse said freedom of speech.

Thanks and looking forward to your responses.

I have gone through most of the thread
I can say the most sane thread and sensible and matured discussion on the forum in recent time👏
I agree with most of the members here that better ignore such type of posts which are demeaning an actor.
I know it hurts, coz I cried many times seeing the words they are using for our beloved actors. But the more we reply to them the more they try to rile us up.

And forgot to mention I think saalu1 mentioned about the posts that are solely created about his films saying they will be flop when we are not allowed to discuss about his movies in main forum apart from the designated thread and I totally agree with this.
When pics of the said film are not allowed to post on main forum then how can they discuss whether barun's film will be a hit or flop?

Yep.. The first thing is mods don't allow any discussion about his movies in the MF except in movie thread, then how come the discusion about his movie being a flop or hit is allowed in MF?
second thing the post itself is so obnoxious.. that was not made to discuss to have a healthy discussion on why movie will be flop or hit.. the sole intention of that post was to instigate the fans.. I really don't understand why the mods didn't close that and asked us to ignore t it if we don't agree to that..

That thread is closed na, the opened one is another one right?

It should be opened forever, we can see they are struggling moving that thread, reached just 22 pages with difficulty. So, without our contribution, thread won't move.
