Episode 114-115 :
NNovel way of getting engaged and an appreciation for Arnav's Shatir dimag. I think the entire episode reminded me of this song. This also reminded me men will always be man and women always that. However each can express their feelings by not copying the opposite sex. A man is all about having a superior attitude, a caring one and anger. On the other side - a female usually inherently is mild, does not resort to extreme pride, at the same time can tolerate and express. Each can express love and that does not make them weak. This is a song which was in my head when this episodes were watched

Arnav being a man in love : It was evident he was acting as a man. He acting out and saying why everyone was telling about Khushi. He was angry and disturbed that Khushi has not spoken to him about not coming back to Raizada mansion. It was his house, and he was the one who loved her the most. So he thought he would have been given the courtesy of not seeing Khushi again. To him Khushi not telling him that it was her last day must have hurt his ego. So had the same the unawareness of the family members that he was being disturbed. At the same time as a man he wanted to give Khushi space- as she wanted by being away from his family. He knew Khushi would never say no to anyone when some one insists and his family would take advantage of Khushi if he tells nicely. So he was angry when he told everyone- Khushi yeh, Khushi woh, mein bhi pareshan ho chukao." These hurtful words however were not for Khushi's ears- and when he saw she had heard he was even more frustrated of how to make it right. When Hari prakash brought his juice he said he wanted coffee- may be he did not want anymore sweetness in his life after bringing bitterness in Khushi's heart. When Khushi came to return his mannat ki Chabi and he told her- go away- that was again a man speaking. That was a man in love who knew at that moment whatever Khushi would speak can only be something which would indicate how low of a human being he is in her eyes. However when he grabbed her- he did not see that, he saw her love for him which he could bear even less. When Khushi was leaving- he kept on looking with blank eyes as if wanting to say, "I can not cry I am a man, but I love her damn it.". At the same time wishing she would look back at him a last time although he had hurt her. When he saw the Mannat ki chabi he instantaneously knew with his shatir dimag that Khushi needed him- and a man in love has a natural tendency to protect and take care. This on top was our ARSHI who did not need words to communicate. When he sees that he has hurt her- he cleans the wound and wraps it up. After that for a moment it leaps to him that he loves this person- so he continues to look at her for minutes after finishing the bandage on her. He did not need to look what he was dressing but her eyes, ass if his hand instantaneously knew where hers is. When in the end he says that he does not want to see her anymore- was also a moment when he decided that although he loved her he as a man expected Khushi to love him as he is and when he told her to get out of his life expected as a man for her to cling tighter to him if she loved him. When she did not he came to the conclusion she was deceiving him and cared only for his money.
Khushi as an woman in love : She has the natural tendency to never express her love and love for Arnav was at this point less of a priority then Babuji's health, her own mental turmoil, and a host of other things that were wrong. Therefore she did not call the house to say it was her last day- because as a female it was natural for her to avoid confrontation and speech with someone who had broken her heart. When she came and saw Arnav being disturbed she instantaneously knew the reason behind- however her being a female prevented her from blurting the reason in front of the Raizada family. When she went to give him his Mannat ki Chabi, which was to her a key to all treasures- she wanted to make him understand that she was giving him the key which was to all her treasures- and to Khushi her biggest treasure was her heart. She wanted him to understand she has given him back the key to her heart which he had thrown away.He had told her- the fact that he loved her- meant nothing to him. She wanted to convey - that his heart and love may be of no value to him but it was very important to her. She therefore gave him a key hoping he would catch the drift and keep the key to her treasures. As if saying all her treasures which she had kept locked in his locker were his to do as he wished. When he came to tie a bandage she was hurt as a broken female. It was the female self respect which did not like that he grab her in a Mandir- without giving her the proper respect of being a spouse. However she was relenting and made the entire world vanish to nothing when he looked at her- because she loved him. When he said that he did not believe in the Diety- she had to tell him that when he understands she will no longer be a part of his life- I think women have a tendency to remind their loved ones that one day they will no longer be there. When she left she again said as a woman that she is not going to see him again- particularly one in deep love- repeating after what the other one was saying- just for the sake of argument.
Allah as the one who always bringing people in love together : It is said that love is the best emotion Allah has given us. So to make our ARSHI blockheads there had to be some Devine interference. Be that Khushi getting hurt in exactly the finger whose vessel goes to the heart. So I really loved those lines- Whatever we made of ourselves in life- our Allah held our hands and made us do it. When we succeeded or failed. And yes no one writes our lot other then Allah. We can are supposed to show Allah the respect Allah deserves. In this world where people are always there to find a fault with Allah- it was a nice remembrance- the best emotion Allah gave us- love and people who love us even though we may not want them. So our ARSHI did not want the spouse whom they loved, may be their knowledge was limited but the knowledge of Allah is enormous. So what if there are Shyams and Buajis in the world. However love usually because is the most treasured thing goes through the toughest hurdles. And Allah usually appears to people the way they want Allah. So Khushi wanted her Creator to be one who would carry her through hurdles carrying her hand and not allow anything bad happen. So she was carried though hurdles always with support.
Family as interference in love : Now of course the top one was Buaji and her insistence of Khushi marrying Shyam- however I do doubt if she would have been this much insistent if she knew Khushi loved Arnav. Then comes Raizada's and their praise of Khushi and behaving as if Khushi's importance to them was a feeling which Arnav did not share. So they did not catch the drift- when Arnav said Khushi is out of my life, when they saw her have premonition of Khushi's presence and when they saw Khushi was disturbed with Arnav's words.
In this episode however I realized Arnav loved Khushi far more then Khushi loved him. And realized the path of love- it is never simple and smooth.
I think it has more thorns however in the end for those who can handle them- as it is said even Allah obliges.
samin, beautiful piece.
this man woman thing and love and who's more right... the endless ego battles, and the sort of eclipsing of the emotion in our hearts, till it again asserts itself over all else and shines through becoming the most valid thing of all. yes, love never really makes you weak, though sometimes you think it will.
i enjoyed your interpretation of what he saw when he grabbed her... her feelings... that's why the anguish in him.
about that "i will not be there when this that or the other happens," 😆, my mum used to do it, though most wryly, and i do it all the time, even when i talk to myself sometimes... what is this about us women? is it a subcontinental thing? is there a desperate attempt at power by a gender robbed of it centuries ago? it is sure "sab darama." drives people crazy. 😆 i liked the way he reacted... why later, let's start this whole thing now... never will i see you again. very clever boy... but alas... how he suffered in his sleep. aww.
last para... asr did love her more, and loved her with something of his gut and all of his heart, even before the poor guy could decide this way or that. that chucking tea thing and his smile, that in the cupboard scene, then in the ditch sitting pretty and shhh because salary will go, there were these moments when i could almost hear him fall for her. just.like.that. and he needed her badly too... i have often felt, this had something to do with the loss of his mother at too young an age.
she was a part of him and perhaps the day it became apparent for the first time was when he came to save her in the rain... though he was in mean mood supremo. and in the guest house, when he couldn't help himself but touch her cheek... after that panic attack thinking she was dead... ufff. she will get to this level of feeling perhaps a bit later... kidnap, i thought... the day she speaks to herself about her feelings in that soliloquy about hate that become something else... and later when she hears him say, he loves her. something seems to happen to her then... i felt, in her own eyes she became a woman overnight. not that jhalli went away, just that her sense of being a woman and claiming it as her self... happened then. till then, somewhere always, a girl element was more evident.
yes, sir, abs agree, love is the feeling most precious gifted by the eternal. to feel it is to know there is the one without beginning or end.
lot of talk of tagore on the thread.
his puja or worship poems/songs i always feel are fabulous love poems too.
