Episode 80-81

Do we choose whom we love? Do we love for a reason? I think sometimes but most of the times we just do. Why do I love her and a reason- I just do conclusion. When they say something it strengthens it and when they do something they question why.

Anjali : She was really hurt when Arnav was not even paying attention and hurting La even when Arnav refused to marry La, refused to change his mentality, got angry when shown concern and was thinking- Why does she love him? Then the same night he breaks down hugging her. He starts crying and she gets her answer. She loved chote not because he is her younger brother but because to him she was both parents. She could tolerate anything and would anything to stop him from breakdown. She understood that the talk of marriage so close to her parents Barsi has broken him down. And she understood she loved chote, who by relation was her brother but in all other aspects was her son, whom she loved a lot, whom she loved blindly, and would tolerate all his attitude because after all love is blind and stupid, and Anjali knew only the blind love, not by choice, but because she had to for the sake of happiness of her chote. Because in her son she had given the basis of all her happiness. I never envisioned a sister who could be sweet and the same time intelligent for her brother.
SHE IS THE MOST SWEETEST AND SENSIBLE SISTER EVER SHOWN IN THE TV SERIAL.LATER THEY CHANGED HER CHARACTER THAT ALWAYS MADE ME UPSET
But Anjali's love was not unconditional.She loved her bro immensely but when her love(Shyam) came in between she ignored her love for chote. when shyam's truth was revealed, Anjali broke down and mistrusted Arnav and Khushi. She didn't show a little concern for her bro. she forgot that her bro was kidnapped and possibly could die. She didn't even ask him, how was he. She didn't show a single gratitude to Khushi for saving her bro. she acted like a selfish woman demanded her criminal hubby to be back. A mother's love is unconditional and selfless.That is the difference between a mother and mother like sister.
YES THAT;S WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT

Arnav : When Khushi made a fool of her by pretending to be sick, when Khushi tried hard to evade him, when Khushi gave her a lecture about marriage and her very low opinion about him- He was thinking why on earth was he falling for her? When she came to give her condolences about his mother stating that he looked like her mother, when she taunted about him and puja on the day of his parents death anniversary- he positively hated loving her. In his opinion everything bad happens because of Khushi. Then he saw her when she was lightening the candle and decided there was nothing special, and then had to look back and knew she was special to him. He then kept on looking and got his answer he just loved her. The next day when he was in the mandir and could feel her there- saw her back there, he was hating loving her but still did because his shatir dimag told him to stop trying to find a reason. It told him those moments he spent with her made him forget the pain in his past and that was enough reason for him to love her and continue loving her and tolerate her
LOVE THIS IN PURPLE
Khushi : When Arnav was reminding her of her her status in the house, when he pulled her close , when he hurt her, when La touched the tender bruise- Khushi was hating herself and wanted to hate him. Then when he drew her close to him- she could not push him away, when he willed her to look back at him she just had to. She was asking herself- why do I love him so? She was telling herself why- when he took La with him after all he was the person La loved and she was not going to compete for him. Then in he Mandir she was feeling him strongly around her and had to look back to see him. She had a feeling that he was the utter selfish person who would want all the mannat only for himself. Then She saw he wanted all pigeons for the health of a little girl's dad and finding a small reason not to hate him. She saw how hurt he was when speaking of his parents death and she understood. She loved him and could not leave him because in his view- she belonged to him. She loved him more then herself because he loved her more then himself, she was the only person in the world for him to whom he could tell what he could not tell anyone. She was the only person he could tell- that everyone says they understand what he was going through and no one understands. She was the only one whom he really wanted to understand what he was going though living in a house where his parents are not coming back. She loved him because he needed her and Khushi thought of others before herself always.SHE IS SELFLESS

We do not really choose whom we fall in love with-- do we?
AGREED

NICE WRITTEN SAMIN MY COMMENTS ARE IN BETWEEN.

he said sorry three times. or that's how it looked like to me.

but why is such an elaborate story being told around something as simple as "sorry"? so arnav singh raizada never seeks forgiveness from anyone... so what? why is this so important anyway? is it just to show that khushi is making him change his ways or is it something that he must feel for his own character's sake?

i had mentioned the centrality of forgiveness in doctrines of many religions yesterday. but it was a casual remark that i heard yesterday about someone who had been through a terrible killing of her parent, that got me pondering this again. she had gone and actually forgiven the one who took her father's life and pleaded that the accused be set free. "Kshama" or "maafi" washes us, cleans us, frees us of our dark, omnivorous baggage which is bound to inhabit us after a traumatic experience. it is very difficult, almost impossible to come to that point, but it can be done. if we can't forgive, the ugly side of the pain will never leave us, it will maim us terribly eventually.

i am so glad arnav singh raizada learnt to ask for maafi. some day this lifting of the barricade will take him all the way to forgiving his mother'
s killers. the day he does that he will be free. and khushi indeed is the one with the key, the wish sent to him by life, that will guide him to the right path. he in turn, no doubt will help her find her destiny and also realise our destiny depends partly on our actions too.

so back to the three sorries.

he's completely odious with lavanya again, brusquely he says he doesn't want to go to the party. and then at her "arnavji" snaps, "aur yeh arnav ji ka drama band karo" now stop this drama of arnavji. can't blame him for that. it is disconcerting, suddenly cool la is all sati savitri lavanyaji, how can anyone put up with it? la is still managing to hold on to her temper, and says, fine, but why is he so angry with her since the morning? i wish i could tell her, he's actually angry with himself.

when the doorbell rings and la says that must be khushi as she's going to the party with her, asr, about to shut his door, stops in his tracks, and can't stop himself from saying, "khushi!... khushi aayi aaj?" khsuhi! khushi has come today? i love the way the "kh" sounds when he says her name. they say your lover takes your name in a way no one else does. well barun sobti's asr has the copyright on the sexiest way of saying khushi and that too in a million different pitches and tones.

"khushi lavanya ki party mein?" khsuhi at la's party? he strides out quickly to go see her. asr is eagerly rushing out to meet khushi. i was so happy to see that. a long tilt up to reveal a very pretty khushi in dark pink and gold, camera reminded me of the day of the red sari.

she sees him. he has already seen her. there's a funny awkwardness in him, while her gaze is direct, ready. he wants that forgiveness. he has never asked for such a thing. this is tough.

she remembers, "pata hai kaisa lagta hai jab apne haathon se apne maa ko agni dete hain... sab kehte hain ki wo samajhte hain ki hum kya mehsoos kar rakein hain lekin koi kuch nahi samjhta!!" know how it feels when you put fire on your own mother and come home?...everyone says they understand, but no one understands a thing!!

a sadness in her. this death of parents sits heavy on her. his words awaken the fears and insecurities of loss in her again... he's looking contrite. he starts walking toward her.

they stand facing each other. air of hesitation in him, and discomfort in her. the day before had not been easy on either. yet he needed to reach her somehow. he knew his words had not only hurt her, they had slammed a door with their complete self absorbed cruelty. and by saying "koi nahin samajhta," he'd let her become just anyone, part of a faceless mass. but she wasn't that, was she? good or bad, infuriating or not, she was anything but just some "koi" to him. he was aware enough to know that for some reason quite unknown to him, she mattered. which is why perhaps it was all the time important to let her know she didn't (contrary mr asr, forever flinging "tum hoti kaun ho" at her). he'd made a promise to himself never to let a woman be of consequence to him. everything went and rested in that one killing moment of his life. his mother gone in a trice, because his dad played with another woman. never would he let a woman in his life.

so when khushi started to walk into his thoughts, claim his unconscious reveries, he had to manage this breach somehow. "kissi ladki se koi faraq nahin padta..." no girl makes a difference... his walls of resistance were high and thick. yet, with her, padta hai faraq... dammit. not just now, it will be so forever. hamesha.

his instincts bid him to build back what he'd wrecked the night before. but of course his dimaag/brain struggles with this need... in his telepathic conversation he would talk of the desperate attempts he made to not like her, hate her in fact... "kitni koshish ki maine..." however, his heart refused to listen.

he strode purposefully toward her, but la came to whisk khushi away.

he was left looking on... he looked.. helpless? asr?

she who is mad at him, left, but not without looking back. even on the day she called him a man without a conscience, she hadn't been able to walk away without looking back. her instincts fought with her dil. rakshas or not, it wants to take her toward him.

rabba vey decks up her walking away. she seems a bit reluctant though to just leave him there and go.

twice he turns back for her. khushi! khushi!, i hear him calling her in the guest house that terribly night of the storm, first time her name on his lips. with each turn, perhaps a seeking of forgiveness, unheard.

his very first sorry. i was certain that's what it was, there in his eyes, and she could sense it too.

"heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard are sweeter; therefore, ye soft pipes, play on; not to the sensual ear, but, more endear'd,
pipe to the spirit ditties of no tone:"
~~~ john keats, ode on a grecian urn ~~~
at the party, she stands around alone, unwilling to join the revelry inside. and memories of him come unbidden. he is telling her he doesn't want to see her face. why his thoughts all the time? why can't she just stop letting rakshas in? she berates herself, "hum bhi na, kitne ajeeb hain, dimag kabhi bhi kuch bhi sochne lagta hai... ab yahan uss laad governor ke baare mein kyun soch rahe hain." i am so strange, the brain starts thinking anything anywhere, now here i am thinking of that laad governor!
and like a genie he appears in front of her.
she makes to walk past him and... "khushi," something gentle, tentative in his voice. but she is in no mood for that. for a second a turbulence on her face though...
again, "khsuhi."
"lavanya ji andar hain, aap andar jaa sakte hain," la is inside, you can go in...
"khushi,"
she turns away, rejecting his call. she knows, oh yes, she knows he's here for some reason that she will find hard to handle emotionally. she is running away from it. i have nothing to say to you, she says emphatically, angrily almost.
he's hit hard by her vehemence. he is unused to opening himself up so much, allowing the feeling of remorse to show through, it's a first time for him. after behaving strangely and badly, he always knows he's wrong and feels terrible but he chooses not to show it...
she tells him, "aap jaiye yahan se," in this dismissive tone. what the. teeth are clenched, an involuntary threatening step forward. the two of them spell friction, always. there's too much unspoken attraction, fire under the skin, bound to be combustible.
"how dare you," he's beside himself with anger in a split second.
"kyun hum daring kyun nahin kar sakte? daring pe sirf aap ka naam likha hai kya," why can't i be daring, have you got your name written on the word... and the love/hate talk takes of... as usual.
equal talent. equal rage. equal right. i can hurt you, and i can hurt you right back. no cowering and singing sad songs for our heroine here, merely 18, small town, unfashionable, whatever she may be. just as he fell for her utter and mad ajeeb cuteness, so too perhaps for her crazy, leap in, gutsiness, some would call it foolhardiness. but that's what will get her to switch diesel to water alone in a lonely farm house surrounded by goons one scary afternoon... and have him exclaim with a funny kind of enjoyment and pride "khushi kumari gupta singh raizada."
"aapne daring khareed li hai kya?"
have you bought out daring? i am thinking here, khsuhi, what if he said he had? ah well.
"what nonsense,"
"aap nonsense... aur aapke saath apka poora p-" you're nonsense, she counters, and your whole f- oops. no, khsuhi didn't mean to insult his whole family, but her tongue was running way ahead of her brain. big mistake.
the rage, the gussa flared in his being. i was overjoyed, for some reason, that's my signal that all is well with him.
he shoots off a tirade instantly, "tumhara dimag kharab ho gaya hai, khushi kumari gupta. tumhe kya lagta hai, main tumse yahan baat karne ke liye aaya hoon? agar do minute pyaar se baat kar leta hoon toh usska matlab yeh nahin ki tum apni jagah bhool jaao... understnd?" you've gone mad, kkg... you think i've come here to talk to you (but you have, haven't you? but no matter, keep yelling, sounds beautiful)... speak lovingly for two minutes and you forget your palce. wonderful, insults have started flying.
again a curious moment. she's upset, close to tears... he's feeling the anger dissipate and the reason for coming here take hold again. what's he to do. how to tell her what he wants to?
and one more time he looks back back with a world of emotion in his eyes. she wipes a tear. he's quick to respond with an intense feeling. yes, this time the tear hurt him. one of those har baars. he can't see this. he turns away. "sorry bolna hai, arnav, sorry bolna hai." got to say sorry, arnav, got to. he didn't know, but he had said and felt sorry with those eyes closed in pain, feeling her pain, in him. second sorry is here.
he opens his eyes and looks for her, she's gone.
he finds her. and at her sight, there is music in his heart even if he doesn't bid it "play on."
he's steeped in remorse, wondering how to approach her and say his thoughts. she stands alone, tossed by too many feelings. again a tear is wiped.
he can't take it. finally, he walks up to her and enters the gazebo. a few seconds of poetry in absolute silence as he watches her, and she him.
"khushi mujhe tumse kuch baat karni hai." khushi, i have something to say to you.
but again she must walk off... and he must lose his cool at this repeated turning of her back on him... he must stop her, shout. in the shouting, even before he can think, all his feelings of remorse. forgive me, scream the words yet they sound most unapologetic.
"kitni baar kaha hai ki main jab baat kar raha hoon toh mooh mat moda karo.. kitni baar... subah se dimaag kharab kar rakha hai," how many times have i told you not to turn away when i am talking to you... how many times... you've been chewing my brain since the morning...
"aap apne dimaag pe dhyaan dijiye, kyunki subah se hum mile nahin hain," give some attention to your brain, because we haven't met since the morning.
then he just blasts her. "forgive me" seem to say every word nonetheless.
on a rush, without a breath or pause, and decibel climbing, he goes for it, "i wanted to tell you what i said i shouldn't have... if i'd known i'd have never said such a thing... if i'd known about your parents, i'd never have said such a thing...
SAMJHI TUM?"
in tune with him instinctively, she realises why he is here. "toh yeh sab... aap sorry bolne ki koshish kar rahe the," so all this... you were trying to say "sorry."
and then, though upset, and angry with him, she helps him in a way only she can. she acquaints him with a khushi kumari gupta he has never met.
how could he? she was only eight. when the accident happened. when she had no idea what death was even. and her parents went forever. how unreal it was to her, she kept on thinking they would come back, but no. even today she's scared of the dark... and speeding cars. even today she feels sometimes that she will suddenly wake up, the nightmare would end and they'd be there. but alas.
now you know, "pata nahin tha" you'd said, now you do.
"now say sorry."
(reminded me of the "say sorry" thing i have with my husband 😆.)
"aaj bhi hume lagta hai ki hamare amma babuji taare ban gaye hain"... till this day i think my mother and father have become stars... that's why i hang stars above my bed, i'm scared of fast cars... of sleeping alone... of the dark. i feel they will return, it's only a bura sapna.
he swallows hard and looks away. she seems to give up. all her churned up emotions, the outburst, everything seems to have sapped her of energy.
"rehne dijiye, kyunki hamari itni haisiyat hi nahin hai ki aap hume sorry bole," let it it be, because i don't have the status that you should ask for my forgiveness.
she's walking away.
"khushi," tears in voice.
she stops and looks back. he's looking at her, eyes filled with tears.
merging of pain, yours, mine. what is mine is yours, what is yours is mine. something is making it impossible to separate pain. tears redden his eyes, he finds the word that had eluded him so long and says it with determination. asr says, "sorry."
tears streaming down her cheeks she looks at him disbelieving... hey hey...
"sorry..."
her feelings congeal, choking her, his tears are hers perhaps, even if she doesn't want them to be.
"i'm really sorry."
"amar matha noto korey dao he tomar chorono dhular tole
shokol ahonkar he amar dubao chokher jale
" two lines from tagore in my head... make me bow my head beneath the dust of your feet/every arrogance of mine, lord, drown in my tears. sometimes that arrogance is just a shield for a heart filled with unshed tears. sometimes tears remind you of pearls, falling unrestrained like portia's mercy, perfect, round, and shining.
his first uttered "sorry," how tremulous with tears, like a little boy almost.
arnav singh raizad asked for forgiveness three times today. the last time, he manged to say the word too. that too three times. i don't think there's any need to mention how perfect and emotional but never melodramatic or cheesy barun was. sanaya was the instinctive and astute foil. always a private space for their most intimate moments. beautiful setting, the lights gleaming like those tears whose release it was all about really.
at the end, two short, lighter scenes in parallel. khushi with jiji, asr with di, a lightness in dialogue, music, pace, taking episode to a breezier note, perfect contrast with what came before.
as khushi talks to payal, i realised, yes they were her tears too. "ek sorry hi toh bolna tha... aur woh bhi uss laad govrnor ne aise bol diya, ke.. hume rula diya." just had to say a sorry, that too the way the ladd governor said, it just made me cry. she had sensed that sorry in him, and his struggle. she felt his devastation about his parents just as she'd told him she could. but in khushi vein, she took it all to her chirpy, irreverent talk, "
sorry hai ya gold medal...!" is it a sorry or is it a gold medal...? gold medal, khushi, you've come first in class.
interestingly, the word "paagal," mad, connected this scene with the one at rm. earlier payal had joked that khushi was mad and would make everyone go her way.
in asr's room, di hovered around chhotey, saying he's driving her "paagal," she was certain something had upset him, he'd cried. he was irritable. the look at his sis. aw. she went into a fit of "sorries."
"di ek minute mein paanch baar sorry bol chuki hain aap... itna aasan hota hai kya aap logi ke liye?!! mere liye itna mushkil kyun hain" di, you've said sorry five times in less than a minute... is it so easy for you guys? then why is it so tough for me? fantastic voice modulation, note of humour creeping back in.
"chhotey, tumhari tabiyat toh theek hai na?" chhotey, you're fine, aren't you?
"haan, di... nahi, di... di, mujhe lag raha mein paagal ho rahan hoon." yes, di... no, di... di, i feel i am going mad.
Indi!!
fabulous take as always...You are just so good with words!
specially loved the parts in bold.
I have always felt...ASR's 1st sorry just HAD to be about something like this...about something as painful as loss of parents...because this is something he knows, understands...It was beautiful.
Yes he has hur
t her in past ... so many times and yes...he has felt bad about it...Very early on he did not even acknowledge he feels bad about it but then gradually he atleast knew he feels bad or restless after hurting her ... making her cry...but I always knew that if that sorry has to come out...it has to be something that really hits him hard emotionally...something exactly like this and wasn't the setup just beautiful!
no cowering and singing sad songs for our heroine here, merely 18, small town, unfashionable, whatever she may be. just as he fell for her utter and mad ajeeb cuteness, so too perhaps for her crazy, leap in, gutsiness
Completely agree! and this is why i just love her!! Yes she is crazy...but gutsy...oh yeah u bet! and smart too! I have always found her to be intelligent...yes she has her ways of doing things...but she gets things done! thinks on her feet...i dont know if that episode is here yet..guess not...about tulsi ka paudha by the poolside...inspite of dealing with her 1st dhak dhak,...wasnt she so quick to think on her feet?? "arnav jee aapne woh wahan kyun rakha?"..and ofcourse cant forget the diesel-water sequence...and there are others too...Yes..she was smart..and this is why i feel bad they treated her like a total dumb head later...dressing up a peon in a school to get some info...really?? Oh well...guess that discussion is for another time and place! 😉
and that conversation with payal!...i found it cute...indeed she got that gold medal...no one else had managed to get it...!
Thanks for sharing this Indi...totally loved it!
Episode 78-79: The sound of the shankh
What an explosive dhamakedaar start to 78, the auspicious sound of the shankh (conch shell), as the dupatta finds its target and lands on her head, vieling her entire face but failing to cover her disbelief. The last time the shankh was heard it was when he accidentally broke her fast, that incident was deemed accidental, but what to make of this one? Arnav furiously took the dupatta from his girlfriend and pitched it over la's head, but landed directly on Khushi... it was as if the dupatta once again got a mind of its own in its quest to tie these two together forever
.EXCELLENT CONNECTION
Khushi can't even blame Arnav this time for unintentionally doing something so big and meaningful. The words of her Amma, she told to La, echoed back in her head...
" jisse rishte ki taar judi ho... agar usske haath aapke sar pe, matlab aapke man ke meet ke haathon, aap ke sir pe chunri gir jaaye... toh uss jodi ko shaadi ke bandhan mein bandhne se koi nahi roke sakta."
"If a chunri lands on your head by the person you have a connection to, by the one you secretly love, noone can stop that couple from forming an union"
"rishte ki taar" literal meaning "a string of connection" ...This "taar" between these star-crossed lovers seem to go back lifetimes upon lifetimes. The shankh was loud and clear announcing the sealing of their "rishta"(relationship) today. In Hinduism, the shankh, which symbolizes the supreme Lord Vishnu, plays a vital role at the start of auspicious occasions. Shankhs are considered sacred and pure, IMO it's how Arnav views Khushi. If Arnav is the ocean, Khushi must be the shankh, sacred and pure, she is found in him and the sound of his humming can be heard from her if listened carefully, they have been a part of each other for eons. ("Arnav=Ocean" credit to Indi!) 👏👏👏
The other significance of the shankh in this show is later when it makes an apearance, one which belonged to Arnav's mom. Khushi goes to fetch it from the storage room for Anjali, and is overcome with emotion at the sight of it, holding it...YEAP GOOD ONE AMI
just the night before, she had learned about her the way of her demise from an anxious, beyond sad Arnav. I've always felt that among all the forced conspiring to bring these two together, him mom is very much included. I believe she was very much present when the shankh went off during teej and when this dupatta landed on Khushi's head, blessing her new bahu. It can't be easy being a star and watching your gem of a son go through so much pain. as a repercussion of your actions...She must've wanted "Kushi" in his life more than anything.
BEAUTIFUL WORDING AND EXPLANATION YES HIS MOTHER IS ALWAYS WITH HIM
On khushi's face, behind the gunghat( viel), she has no objections to her mother's words, no denial about such words as "man ka meet" (lover of her mind like a secret love), there is only acceptance. FOUND IT
She allows the dupatta to just lay there while she processes this special occurrence. Meanwhile the ocean flows out of the room, but comes to an immediate halt, he feels her standing behind that dupatta.
LOVE HIS LOOK HERE
NICE EDIT👏👏👏
Slowly turning around to have a better look at her . He looks at the chunri and then her, an approval in his eyes.
And when she slowly goes to take the chunri off, he looks disappointed like he wants her to keep it on. And though La didn't get to finish why he should make the chnri land on her, he seems to know already, maybe that's why he threw it. HE WAS AS HE LOOKS BACK AT HER
He doesn't believe in marriage, but here seeing his thrown chunri on Khushi's head, feels so right to him, both well aware of its significance because its discussed through their eyes..."Rabba ve"...dare i say the most auspicious one so far?
HE IS LIVING AMONG WHO STRONGLY BELIEVE IN IT SO HOW CAN HE AVOID THAT
Their "taar' of lifetimes shines through in this scene, both feel it to the core. She has always been a part of him the ocean and he has always been a part of her, the shankh...
YES THEIR CONNECTION THROUGH THESE ELEMENTS IS EVIDENT
Arnav comes to his senses and turns around to leave while she looks on, as always he can't just leave, her pull is too strong, he has to stop once more to look at her, and out of habit she returns the look..
Khushi stands there holding, looking and feeling the dupata that just made things a little more official for her, La comes out and naturally takes her dupatta back. KHushi looks as if she is losing a part of herself, not wanting to let go, she watched helplessly that look on her face again, one of immense saddness and pain when she is reminded of La's rights on him... what a powerful scene!
HER HEART WAS DWELLING TO ACCEPT THIS
La is upset that Khushi's plan didn't work, so Khushi tries and cheer her up. Some girly moments follow discussing "bway" friends, Salman Khan and dance masti and ofcourse a good pillow fight. "Mr. too mature for all this" Arnav walks in, Khushi sees him first and her reaction is hilarious, especially when s he puts her foot on the floor but picks it back up like the "maggar macch (crockidile)" is really in the waters.
love her innocent DANCE WITH La AND HER BOY FRIEND
Clearly not pleased with the way his girlfriend is turning out, he doesn't let the chance to bring up her status again. " kabhi fancy dress kabhi yeh sab,that's enough Lavanya (sometime fancy dress, at times all of this, its enough Lavanya)"...Briefly eyeing Khushi to assure a good target, "ladki ke saath rehte rehte tum bhi middle class hoti jaa rahi ho (you becoming middle class')".. He probably would've gone on but Khushi was saved by a phone call from the GH. Bua is asking her to come home immediately.
A frantic khushi returns home only to discover a pleasant surprise, her amma and bauji are here. Sanaya is excellent here as the daughter who missed her parents enormously. Love the scene of Khushi and Shashi later on, as Khushi tried to console her broken father.
SHE WAS HAPPY AND SURPRISED
The special thing about this scene is how Khushi first tries to cheer him up but then gives up and hugs him. Sashi is the only person in front of whom Khushi feels she doesn't have to be strong. The way she just hugs him and cries with him, just lovely and real.The reveal of what shyaam did to her father deserved a special track dammit!! this closure was much too important, can' only imagine what Khushi would've done to Shyam.
WELL SAID
Back at the RM, La has taken Khushi's advise and has gathered the whole family and called Arnav back from his office."Why did you call me back...hurry up Lavanya, i'm getting late." Arnav hastens her. As soon as a nervous La spoke, words like "shaadi (marriage)" "Arnav's boiling point was evident...and when she mentioned Khushi's name as her source of inspiration, that boiling point was certain. He looked around watching Di and others laugh and smile at what she was saying... Khushi's words, some rehearsed some reading off the palm of her hand...it was kind of cute, but not to ASR . She asks him to marry her, and he responds with a cold angry look, forcing his hand out of hers and walking away without saying a word.
HE IS NOT GOING TO LEAVE HER
As soon as he reached the office, he calls Khushi, she pick up and hears her dreaded full name from the rakshas "Khushi Kumaari Gupta."
A marvelous scene , Arnav's reflections shot beautifully here, IMO, to show his internal and external struggles to win against this girl at all costs, on every level.👏👏
With her family surrounding her she decided to pretend it was Lavanya, which made for some very funny moments and expressions from the mighty ASR, who was trying to intimidate her with his ASRness.
He scolds her for putting the "marriage" idea in La's head but assures her that things won't go her way, and her response "i'll be there tomorrow and teach you all the rituals...of karva chaut, navaraatri, all the bridal accessories..sub kuchh"🤣 LOVE HER HERE
Arnav is angry and confused now "what?"
she hangs up on him, he calls again, she disconnects the line, he tries again as "meri baat koi nahi katta" he is furious! defiance! defiance, defiance...just doesn't sit well with him. To make matters worse La brings a hot lunch much to Arnav's annoyance.
SHE WAS LOOKING AWKWARD
Arnav sends her home and rejects her lunch too...making a huge statement, Eating it would somehow acknowledge and support the marriage idea, considering La's state of mind regarding marriage. Another beautiful layer about this man, he need to be upfront, chrystal clear about everything, no beating around the bushes.HE IS WHAT HE IS NO HIDDEN ONE
Later when goes home he talks to La "whats the problem, you got me tea in the morning, and that too in clothes like that Khushi Kumaari Gupta wears, then you mad a joke of me and yourself in front of my family by proposing to me, you know i don't believe in marriage..". I get feeling here La's silence triggered frustrations of Khushi's silence, He screams "REACT DAMMIT!(😳) answer me! i told you kucch bhi karna par uss KKG ki tara mat ban na...mujhe aisi koi bhi baat dobara nahin sun ni, shaadi ki to blikul nah
THAT SHOWS HOW MUCH HE LOVES HER
i (do anything but don't become like that KKG,...I don't want to hear anything about this again...especially not of marriage)"I was happy to see La demanding some answers, "whats the problem in marriaga? to give a name a relationship?"
He knows she deserves answers which he can't give her, he calmly tells her" i don't want to talk about this again" La gets upset and leaves. His thoughts revert back to KKG, she lefter early but all he heard was her name everywhere. "Khushi Kumaari Gupta, yeh sab tumhari galati hai"(this is all your fault)
HE THINKS ITS ALL HER FAULT
The pressures of marriage suddenly from his girlfriend who till now was a good fit for him because "na usse shaadi mein interest hai na mujhe" (she's not interested in marriage and neither am i) as he told his di before La moved in. In addition, Khushi Kumaari Gupta pushing him into chaos every aspect of his life...no wonder he wakes up with a headache...
HIS HEADACH IS KHUSHI AS SHE AND HER PRANKS ARE KILLING ME
DROOL CORNER!!!!!!!!!!!!
❤️ the inner struggle! Sobti is BRILLIANT! ❤️❤️😳LOVEEE IT
AMI GOOD ONE 👏👏👏 LOVE CERTAIN CONNECTIONS LIKE
Their "taar' of lifetimes shines through in this scene, both feel it to the core. She has always been a part of him the ocean and he has always been a part of her, the shankh...
@Katelyn Finally saw those 3 funny videos. Thank you so much for posting them. They were too good. 😆 The first one, on BDs - the BDs have managed to make their prescence in so many important scenes, unbelievable. BD, BD everywhere, not a single place to hide. Liked that back-to-back bit. 😆
The second one on why Barun was leaving - I genuinely liked the starting bit, with the song 'Ab jaane ki zid na karo' and clippings of ASR leaving. Then, the comedy starts and it was hilarious. I knew there were similar tracks in BHPH and IPK, but never knew the scenes were also similar. I was surprised with the desi girl bit. No wonder, Barun was constantly getting a deja vu feeling 😆. That actually makes a valid reason for quitting. Loved Sarun's yawning clipping, never saw it before. 😆 Poor guys!
The third one, fake interview - as soon as the lady started talking I started rofling 🤣, because you said that u imagined that reporter to be me and I thought no way that accent could be mine. 😆 I was also imagining the reaction of my family if I spoke like that. 🤣 Ok, but seriously, hats off to the lady who made this. Superb editing of the audio clips. Very interesting questions and answers. Loved it.
That is a fantastic suggestion, Horizon! BFTP deserves to be a sticky post ! Indi, Durga will you take it up?
while on songs, there's a character and a song that hugely reminded me of our natty, crisp man of few words asr, with that other side words can't quite describe. james bond in skyfall. ok, do not laugh. okay?
as i watched daniel craig come alive as double o (i feel daniel c suddenly turns really hot whenever he plays mr bond, he's lovely otherwise, but as bond he gives me a high, absolutely), my mind kept seeing asr, in fact, barun as bond. 😆. and the song was just completely asr to me. sexy, hot, passionate, a man ready to die that you want to make live. who knows he can rise above all, even that skyfall. if you've seen the movie, where he takes the shot and plunges many metres to his "death" i felt asr caught in the middle of the plunge, the echo of "ma" cradling him there permanently... yet he stands tall.
this is the end
hold your breath and count to ten
feel the earth move and then
hear my heart burst again
for this is the end
i've drowned and dreamt this moment
so overdue i owe them
swept away, i'm stolen
let the sky fall
when it crumbles
we will stand tall
face it all together
let the sky fall
when it crumbles
we will stand tall
face it all together
at skyfall
that skyfall
skyfall is where we start
a thousand miles and poles apart
where worlds collide and days are dark
you may have my number, you can take my name
but you'll never have my heart
let the sky fall (let the sky fall)
when it crumbles (when it crumbles)
we will stand tall (we will stand tall)
face it all together
at skyfall
where you go i go
what you see i see
i know i'd never be me
without the security
of your loving arms
keeping me from harm
put your hand in my hand
and we'll stand
let the sky fall (let the sky fall)
when it crumbles (when it crumbles)
we will stand tall (we will stand tall)
face it all together
at skyfall
let the sky fall
we will stand tall
at skyfall
oh
like bond, i feel asr was created with a few clear strokes but a lot was left to the actor's ability to make him real, give him little things that will make you sense his being. many actors did mr bond, but no one got him quite like mr connery and mr craig. had the first actor for bond not been sean c, i wonder if the myth of double o could have been created or sustained, and now daniel c is giving him a note of emotion that perhaps it was time to give him. i just love it. if asr had been played by some other actor, i wonder if we'd be here like this gana bajaoing and losing sleep.
Yes Indi, a writer creates a character but a good actor gives him a personality, breathes life into him and make him stand tall like only he can. Sean Connery was one such actor and yes, Craig too. What Connery and Craig did to Bond, Barun did alone to ASR! No one wanted to see another actor as ASR! And BARUN AS BOND! That will be the last nail in my coffini! Thanks! Love the song.
