I just loved this scene, one of the very few when ASR is embarrassed and discomfited

Dear arshicritic, can I be honest? I am a bit disappointed that you, as a writer whom I liked lately for the composed, neutral depiction of scenes, are also mocking LM like many on this forum! I don't think any/ many understood what he meant. He never said Barun is not talented. He, as some one who has the passion for what he does behind the camera, was describing the technical details of a scene. Not sure whats wrong with it. We may not understand the technical jargon but as a fan of ASR/ IPK, I thoroughyl appreciate all the details added to a scene to elevate it to the next level.
Ex: We all loved Guest house track. Watch this scene from 5.19. How the blue/ grey hues added to the overall impact of the scene.. how the camera was shown from behind the orchid pot.. ..how at 4:04 his eyes were shown in close up and then his face.. yes Barun has a beautiful face and eyes.. but it should occur to some one behind the camera to focus on them. ..how that is responsible to convey to us HOW DEEPLY ASR was LOST in Khushi's thoughts... all the fine details that sorely missed later on! At least for me these are responsible to fall in love with ASR that I defended him through thick and thin!
I was watching the latest SLB serial, and watching that male lead and note the conspicuous absence of any close up shots and hence the lack of intensity in a scene. Isn't Aishwarya Rai out of this world beautiful and a good actess. Then how was she the best only with SLB?
About that scene you mentioned, the entire Sangeet track is so intoxicating that we feel as if we are the ones falling in love.. of special mention of a small gesture is how he leans against the door when Khushi turns back in that room saying "hume koi farq nahin padtha" after their dance! Just heart stoppingly manly... again a director's thing... may be LM .. may be AK.. who ever.. kudos!!

I love your honesty. I do not deny that good direction are essential to a good show, and a director is vital to the success of a show.

However, while I feel that one does not substitute the other, and both an actor and a director make a good scene/show, a good actor can still hold the viewers together, inspite of directorial flaws, a bad actor can sink the show so badly, that no amount of good work from others is visible.

LM is brilliant at what he does, he was one of the reasons why IPKKND was what it was, all credit to him, but he has to acknowledge that it is the actor who showcases the work of the team in the background

Btw, I feel suitably chastised and rightly so!

@ Red: I am sorry that you feel that way... but no intension to hurt but only my passion for IPK/ ASR/LM speaking out!
@Bold: For me, all the ASR/ Barun pictures on his FB while the show was on spoke enough for his love both for the actor and the character. So didn't feel any special need of him to do that again.

Come on just joking, but ya I was taking cheap shots at LM and that was uncalled for here, so thank you

I am always cribbing about needless bashing and here I was guilty of the same,

An honest confession - I didn't even see/read LM interview!

But you know, seeing barun in IPKKND, playing Arnav is a fab experience, I feel we are blessed to have been part of a show that was so enthralling and enchanting and it was ASR and barun that were a large part of the experience for me.

So anything that trivializes his portrayal of ASR bothers me.

We share the same passion here!
