Episode 69: Cause and Effect

Celebrations for the birth of Sri Krinsa are well under way. A power packed episode that beautifully depicted the cause and effects of relationships, situations and a certain connection that increases in strength by the minute...

SO TRUE

Arnav comes down the stairs only to run to run into a sad Anjali. He knows the cause of this face "Jijagi?" Anjali bravely explains trying to pretend its no big deal, "his friend operation is today" ...the pain Shyam causes his wife has direct effect on Arnav, but their trust in this monster is too strong. Helpless when it comes to his sister's marriage, all he can do is put his hand on her shoulder to let her know "Di, mein hoo na (Di i'm here)"

HE IS A TRUE BROTHER

she tries to assure him "hum teek hai (I'm okay)." they both are distracted by a chirpy Khushi who is teaching La "and this is where Bal Gopal wiil reast until he is born." When the dimaag(brain) is not on guard the dil(heart) escapes in her direction and indulges. Does Anjali not see this look on her brother's face while looking at this girl he despises and forgetting his own girlfriend beside her???

I DON'T THINK LOGIC AND IPK COULD EVER STAND TOGETHER.SO ANJALI WATCHING HIM DYING FOR THIS GIRL WAS NOT POSSIBLE

What a look it is, a constant gaze without blinking, till only he is forced out of this moment with a nudge on the shoulder from Anjali. "Do you remember Chotey? when you were 7 yrs old, you put glue in the cucumber"...as Anjali talks of this memory, Sobti's eyes flawlessly show his transport back in time, through his eyes we see how his heart fills up with pleasant memory. 👏 HE DESERVES THAT

He stands there almost numb with this happy memory while Anjali continues, "Mom was so upset, you got yelled at big time didn't you ? Anjali goes on, "do you remember how long it took to take Bal Gopal out of the cucumber?"

Still lost in the memory, Arnav quickly corrects her, "Daant hi nahi, maar bhi padi thi (i didn't just get yelled at, i got smacke too)" (i just want mmmwwwaaa him this minute)...The gimps of this Krisna-like nat-ghat (mischievousness) 7-yr old we see here, makes me wonder of the kind of man he would've been had it not been for the effects caused by the tragedies that shaped his life, and shaped him. The care-free childhood only stayed for a second in his eyes, before he buries it again, its too painful. Would he be helping out in the preparations alongside his mom, maybe joking around with everyone? we'll never know, such is life.

AGREED HE WOULD BE A DIFFERENT PERSON BUT THEN WE DID NOT HAVE IPK

Cant say enough about Barun Sobti's BRILLIANCE here, the range of emotion with his eyes, and the ever so slight smile while he embraces this memory and then quickly wiping it off and he's back to the painful present. "Di i have meeting i'm leaving"

The chirpy girl takes a moment away from her preparations and looks at him, a cute thought to herself "laad governor kahin ka hmm! who know who is off to scare"

CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT SEEING HER

he looks back at her and her increasing "acidity" was visible through out the airy piano notes.

LOL WE ARE GETTING THERE IN THE ACIDITY AND DHAK DHAK

She looks away and allowing him to gain his control back. Before he leave, Anjali insists on gifting him yet another set of "kurta and pajama' again this year,not his style but as always its Anjali's wins. "fine Di, have them put it in my room"...one's mind wanders to that white kurta/pajam he wears next rakshabandan...sigh complet with that red tillak, Lord have mercy on all of us!😉

Bauji and Payal arrive at the RM for the first time at the request of Naniji, the Gupta family's "official" welcome by Mamaji "Raizada parivaar ma aapka swaagat hai." Buaji's presence has a direct effect on Mamijin arrowbaazi and insulting of Laxminagar to poor Laxmi...Buaji seems to have won this one as Mami storms off apalled. As Indi has deemed their relationship that one of love...i can't resist "Iss pyaar ko kya naam doon?"

SAME HERE

I want a special mention for Buaji this episode, always loved her feisty no-nonsense proud and loud character, all so well depicted here. Like ASR, she has strong sense of right and wrong, so when Anjali asks forgiveness, she doesn't just hand it to her "i'll try to understand why you did what you did." then later, she was the only one to have any guts to speak for her niece before Nani intruded. A woman who never lets her economic condition define her and lives with pride, a hard shell on the outside but a hear of gold on the inside. you rock Buaji!

BUAJI JUST ROCKS

This delightful evening takes a turn for the worst with the sound of a doorbell that bring the police into the RM. Finally the reason revealed for La's constant staring at the front door. Khushi's entrance into the RM has been negatively effecting her insecurity. She felt jealous of her to begin with because of Arnav's unexplained attraction and now she was winning Naani over with the snap of her fingers. She caused this situation thinking it would drive Khushi to quit her job.

The inspector asks "Khushi Kumaari Gupta kaun hai? (who is KKG?)" Khushi and Buaji are startled and baffled but she steps forward. "h hum hain." Mamiji who drove La to take such an action shows her cringe worthy mean streak, insulting her with the "torn saari" and "bad sweets" when she was the one that tore the saari and soured the sweets with lemons. Soon everyone learns that Lavanya called them.

Anjali is furious, but such is her nature,not able to say anything to anyone. But not Buaji "Ee hui ka raha hai?" she exclaims Mami ji goes on with worse insults first by referring to her as a servant and then implying that she may steal. L a adds in her 2 cents too "ha, also want to check there are no criminal records" an immensely hurt Khushi can't hold back tears any longer. Buaji, doesn't back down "App kehna ka chahte ho? hamri bitiya ka" but is cut off by La who explains the normalcy of this and how "risks" can't be taken.

LA'S CHEAPNESS AND SHALLOWNESS WAS WAY TOO MUCH.THIS WHOLE SCENE WAS INTENSE FOR EVERYONE AND NANIJI TOOK IT PERSONALLY.YOU ARE RIGHT LA IS A BIT JEALOUS AND AT THE SAME TIME DOES NOT WANT TO BE TRAINED BY KHUSHI

The scene intensifies to higher levels, when finally, the voice of an angel "Lavanya Kasyap!"

Did La forget all about Nani when making this plan? "That's enough Miss.Kasyap! who do you think you are?" she turn to the Inspctor "I apoliigize on behalf of this girl, but there is not need for all this, i know Khushi bitiya very well, she's from a good family, n this house i can't give gaurentee on anyone else but i can on Khushi" in those 2 sentence Nani gives backk all the respect Mami and La had stripped Khushi and her family of.

Certainly not the "clean bold" effect she was going for, La whispers to Mami "all i wanted was check her records, whats the problem with that?" further infuriating nani , she calls the inspecter back and turns the table on La, a very ASR-like think to do😉 and asks to "verify" La.

The writers smartly show Nani's acceptence of Khushi as part of the family and the opposite of La ..."Khushi's guarantee in this house" and "you are a guest in this house"

"Ek minute Nani!" a sexy husky voice is heard, queu the music! ASR is back but is under a slight misunderstanding that this is Nani's doing.

"yeh app kya kehe rahi hai naani? (what are you saying nani?)" before going on, he politely shows cops the way out.

NANI S AWESOME HERE AS I MENTIONED IN IDNI'S POST SHE IS A MINI ASR HERE.SHE NOT ONLY TACKLE La BUT ALSO KHUSHI'S FAMILY TO MAKE THEM FEEL BETTER AND SOOTH THE PAIN WHICH La GAVE THEM

La tries to gain his compassion "Oh God ASR, i've never been so insulted"

"what is all this Nani? why as the police here" angry at Nani, he wanted answers

Gotta love Nani's clarification of the situation, "Don't ask me that, maybe Ms.Kasyab wanted to invite them for Janmashtami"

Arnav realizes his misunderstanding, and gives La an Angry look, she knows she's in trouble so she runs off. Anjali, always looking to make things right "whatever happened was a big misunderstanding, but everything is ok now" lets all go back to normal she says...

but ask poor Khushi and her eyes will tell you different. ..misunderstandings? everything is Ok now? how?

Arnav's eyes immediately shift directly to Khushi, who looks back at him as if telling him, "hum teek nahi hai (I'm not ok)"

YEAP HE WAS ASKING AND SHE WAS ANSWERING WITHOUT KNOWING WHY

This one second reminds me of her running towards him in the hospital lobby and wrapping herself around him, just needing him to protect her, console her.

VERY TRUE SHE RELIES ON HIM AND THE SAME WHEN SHE CRIES ON HIS SHOULDER AFTER SHYAM'S REVELATION

Didn't he insult her with words like "overtime" and "more money" earlier? The thing is he can hurt her, humiliate her, insult her, point finger at her character, but how dare someone else? Even before that hospital scene she had been kicked out of his car, yelled at by him...but at the sight of him in her broken state, she runs to him. Deep within, a trust has been established "

YES I MENTIONED THIS TOO OVER AND OVER THEY HAVE DEVELOPED THIS TRUST WHICH PPL TAKE YEARS AND THEY JUST CAN'T LET ANYONE ELSE ALLOW TO DISRESPECT OR DO ANYTHING WITH EACH OTHER BUT THEY CAN DO ALL WITH EACH OTHER AND THATS WHY THE CONTRACT THING REMAINED IN BETWEEN THEM ON WHICH PPL MADE SUCH AN BIG FUSS [my pov]

aap sab kucch teek kar denge (you'll make everything ok)"... she knows the pain behind all that hurt he causes her and in the process himself "hum jaante hai, hamaara ek aansoo, aapko hazaar baar chot pahochaata hai (i know that one tear from me caused you pain 1000X over)"...har baar. He listens to her eyes complaining, desperately wanting to make everything teek (alright). His eyes reflect the hurt in her eyes.

Everyone goes to the mandir for puja, but Khushi lingers still needing a minute to let out her hurt before putting that smile back on, Arnav catches her and an electrifying "hey hey" moment follows.

WELL SAID

He watches with such concern and care, wanting to go and support her just like he did his Di earlier "mein hu na". She can feel him so she turns around, but he is too shaatir(smart) to be caught so he quickly looks away and starts walking up the stairs, just so she misses him...but he can only walk a few steps before her tears act lilke thorns on his feet to stop him.

BUT HE IS ALWAYS THERE WHETHER HE WANTS IT OR NOT

Can she sense his comfort he wishes to give her? maybe that's how she gathers strength to put a smile on during the puja.

KHUSHI IS WAY TOO STRONG MORE THAN EVEN ARNAV

The beauty of watching this couple, witnessing the effect they have on each other, while they try to figure out the cause👏👏👏
