Karan Singh Grover was first choice by 4lions to play ASR, but could not take up role due to personal issues. But if he had taken up the role, how do you think he would have portrayed this complex character as opposed to Barun Sobti? Please do not make negative comparisons between the two actors and no bashing or crude remarks. This is purely an artistic discussion and analysis of different acting styles and personalities. As ASR is someone we love dearly, it would be interesting to see how different actors would portray it, just like how diff actors have portrayed James Bond. Would love your input thanks.

No need to be making such a post either it will only lead to a big warzon what's done is done Barun Sobti was our ASR and will remain our ASR.

KSG is doing a good Job as Asad currently.

there is no need to bring ksg here he is not related to ipk. i dont like to compare anyone but for me barun as asr was is and always be perfect.he did his job to the t😃 i always connected to asr more cause of him .

it would have been a disaster!

Not that i don't like him, but his eyes/looks are not appropriate for ASR.

He has a childish look. he can at best make it romantic... but not intense and deep like BS

BS cann show thousands of expression by his eyes..

LMJi would have been at loss as KSG side profile does not do much for the screen.

For me Barun did a wonderful job as ASR because we now know his own personality is completely opposite and different from ASR. He had to do more work to transform himself at work everyday into a different persona because he is not acting himself. I believe that requires a lot of effort as barun in real life is fun loving and cheeky. Karan in real life is more intense and moody, so if he was ASR, he would essentially be playing himself. Just my two cents.
