The only reason I can think of is that the PH and channel knew that their show was running because of SaRun. They dint have proper script in hand to run the show long ..The only way to keep it going till SPL happened and they launched their new show on Zee tv, was to keep both SaRun in the show.. So they kept asking Barun to extend his contract. But by then damage was done. They had to pay the price of not planning things beforehand.. ASR's character should have started easing out post kidnapping and a parallel lead should have been introduced long back. That time they were busy cashing on SaRun's onscreen popularity.. they dint take a risk back then and paid the price when he ultimately quit the show after SPL.

Only fools let go of a winning horse and the fools were the PH, Channel, actor and directors. NOT US. We fought and fought and stayed loyal because we knew the potential of the show and they did not. So when the creators and enactors do not know their own worth what can the lovers and consumers really do. This show is a lesson in how to botch up everything and then shift blame on the everyone else.

Barun: good luck to him and lets see what he manages to do in Bollywood. Unless he has Shah Rukh's luck, his best shot seeing the track record of TV stars is being a poor man's Rajiv Khandelwal.

hi guys, thinking about the concept of IPK.. it was never a simple romance story.. and i loved the angst in it.. the makers (both the creative team and the production team, as they call themselves) managed to reach the audience's heart with sarun as arshi.. the cliche-d story became new and memorable and emotionally consuming, because of them, the team.

we have arnav who has revenge against the world on his mind, we have khushi who sees the human in every rock-hearted man (and got under arnav's armor), and in fifty episodes, they got a whole generation (and more) hooked on the story.

it was never about a pure love story. it was about the hundreds of forces keeping them apart.. and somehow, i feel that star plus saw how the jodi clicked, and did not allow the creative team to tell the story how they wanted to. the channel wanted a lovestory.. we got romance, romance and more romance where it did not gel with the main story at all... and i think that the blast from the past, about garima being the other woman in arnav's parent's life, deserved at least 30 episodes. it was an important part of the story..

there were fans that happened because 'it is so funny, i like that serial, khushi is so goofy!
there were fans for OMG they are gorgeous together!!
but i was one of the fans of the story.. and somehow i feel that if arhi was not performed by sarun, at least (not as beautifully, not as heart-touchingly.. but still) the story would have been told. and i am sad that the story was not told how the creatives envisioned it.. but i am glad that IPK ended with arhi together

. I will say this, though.. if the story had continued, in whatever ragged fashion, i would still have watched it. i might be bashing it everyday, but i would still contribute to the TRP, because even without barun, it was watchable.. as we saw during the kidnapping track.

for me, IPK ended on the day of the remarriage..episode 353, to be exact. for a serial that promised to be 500 episodes long, it was a bit of a cheat.. and well, thanks to everyone involved, for extending it for another 50 episodes of season 2, just for the viewers to get their daily arhi fix.
