erm, no offense but romance has been teh UP of Indias entertainment industry for decades...be it bollywood or the telly shows. Pretty much every show or movie has a romantic edge to it.

and erm, angry hero and bubbly girl is not a new concept either...its a concept 4Lions uses more than anyone else and IPK wasn't the first...

There are countless romantic soaps on indian telly, and Ipk was certainly not the first to have intense romantic scenes between the leads...

no, no IPK created and defined an entire genre of shows, movies, novels. romance was dead, truly!

Ipkknd definitely was not the first show to bring about romance on tv for sure. But it is notable because it became famous despite not having the regular saas-bahu storylines in it.

I sense a general shift into more romantic shows (ahem zee tv), but most of these shows aren't going to gain the mass popularity of ipkknd, simply because these shows also show the same old saas-bahu family crap that most of us here dont really care to see.
