Last night I heard my own heart beating
Sounded like footsteps on my stairs
Six months gone and I'm still reaching
Even though I know you're not there
Khushi sat on the floor, with her back to the bed staring at his photo. There was silence in her room, and ithe silence was broken by her heartbeats. They were so loud...YEARNING for him...So loud that they sounded like footsteps. HIS footsteps... She placed her head between her knees.
SIX MONTHS. SIX MONTHS and he had still not returned... She knew he was gone...he was not going to come back to her...But love...Ah, with love comes hope and pain...
I was playing back a thousand memories, baby
Thinking 'bout everything we've been through
Maybe I've been going back too much lately
When time stood still and I had you
His memories assaulted her mind... Everything they hd been through was shattered into nothingness the minute he had walked out of that door. She let the memories come...She was afraid she was forgetting him...His smell, his eyes, his voice...The feel of his lips against her...
Things were perfect...Their moments had been perfect... She had begun to wonder that how is it possible everything in their lives was going so smoothly...
Come back, come back, come back to me like
You would, you would if this was a movie
Stand in the rain outside 'til I came out
She burst into tears. It started raining out at the same moment... Come back Arnav! Please!
Come back, come back, come back to me like
You could, you could if you just said you're sorry
I know that we could work it out somehow
But if this was a movie you'd be here by now
Just a sorry Arnav...is that too much to ask? You made a mistake; YOU know it. I know it. 'Then what is the problem?!' she sobbed. Come back Arnav! Apologise...ONE SORRY is all I ask for...I am sure we could work it all out
She looked out of the window, wishing for once, that her life was a movie, in case of which he would be here by now.
I know people change and these things happen
But I remember how it was back then
Wrapped up in your arms and our friends were laughing
People change, times change...But love? How can love change if it was LOVE...? Can a fire or passion just die out?! No it could not...She remembered back when things had begun to finally settle down between them. They would spend so much time with each other, that they got mocked and teased by family and friends. They had ignored them, blissful in their own sweet world...
'Cause nothing like this ever happened to them,
Now I'm pacing down the hall, chasing down your street
She ran downstairs, flew through the hall wore her raincoat and tucked her hair under a cap and walked out of the house...She walked determinedly, shivering in the cold rain. She stood in the familiar street, waiting for him to come out; she would go talk to him herself...She paced up and down the street, mentally equesting him to come out...
Flashback to the night when you said to me,
"Nothing's gonna change, not for me and you
Not before I knew how much I had to lose"
Were all his promises empty? Her heart refused to believe it...! It couldn't be! She had seen the love for her in his eyes... She paused in front of his house, looking intently at the window she knew was his. She could see his silhouette, and she also knew he had seen her.
She sighed with broken defeat...He was never going to come back...
She slowly walked back to her house, tears streaming copiously down her face... IT WAS OVER.
She entered her house, locked it behind her and sank to the floor against the door.
Come back, come back, come back to me like
You would, you would if this was a movie
Stand in the rain outside 'til I came out
Come back, come back, come back to me like
You could, you could if you just said you're sorry
I know that we could work it out somehow
But if this was a movie you'd be here by now
She cried, hugging herself...A sorry, Arnav. Is that really too much to ask...
If you're out there
If you're somewhere
If you're moving on
I've been waiting for you
Wary since you've been gone
I just want it back the way it was before
And I just wanna see you back at my front door
She was startled when she heard the doorbell ring. She got up and hastily dried her cheeks.
She opened the door, and was stunned.
And I say
Come back, come back, come back to me like
You would before you said it's not that easy
Before the fight, before I locked you out
She threw herself at him. "Arnav, I am so sorry. Really sorry..."
She had regretted her actions, the day they had fought, but had never felt the need to apologise to him. HE had to apologise to HER. But seeing him there, wet in the rain, standing in front of, broke her down.
After the fight, she was trying to make it up to him and all he had said was 'It's not so easy Khushi' and walked out. Her anger reached its peak and she shut him into the night, screaming "FINE! AND DON'T EVER COME BACK!"
But I take it all back now
Come back, come back, come back to me like
You would, you would if this was a movie
Stand in the rain outside 'til I came out
Both lost track of time as they stood locked in each other's embrace in the rain. He caressed her hair and kissed her softly, both their tears mingling with the rain water. "It's okay. Khushi, I was at fault too..."
Come back, come back, come back to me like
You could, you could if you just said you're sorry
I know that we could work it out somehow
But if this was a movie you'd be here by now
She looked up at him, with glistening eyes, as the raindrops pelted her face. He saw disbelief writ on her face.
He kissed her on the lips softly, whispering. "I am sorry Khushi..."
You'd be here by now
It's not the kind of ending you wanna see now
Baby, what about the ending
Oh, I thought you'd be here by now, whoa
Thought you'd be here by now
She hugged him close...Some how, some part of her knew he would come...
I know it is highly highly crappy...So tomatoes and chappals se... BHAAGO *covers face, puts helmet and flees*
