I too am proud of being part of the solution that SAVED the memories of this beautiful show IPK! I am happy that I was part of the group that did NOT let SP and PH just drag this show to just make money! Did NOT want this abrupt end! Wanted a proper ending, and had they decided to end the show in December, they could have closed all the tracks and given us a good ending! But they decided to do something else instead!
PH's heart was not in it for months! They were only keeping the show because of SP! I objected to THAT! Because there is no point continuing to do something you dont beleive in just to make money! I KNOW that is how the real world works, coz I am part of the real world too! But sometimes there IS a place for idealism! THIS was one of those places!!
It was clear that things were going wrong for many months! Barun's decision to quit was just the final blow and the catalyst to what eventually took place! There must have been a VERY strong reason for his decision! This is someone who was convinced to continue the show while shooting a movie! He showed a lot of committment at the time! The show had been running nearly 1 year at that point! So he could have left, but did not! I remember how happy he looked at the 1 year anniversary party!
In DIRECT contrast, I saw him hanging back and just talking to LM in one of the photos from the 350th episode cake cutting! It was clear that this was the time that things started to unravle with him! Because soon after that we got the "Leaked" news that Barun gave notice via Gul's good freind "Zee_News"! The way that that whole situation was handled must have made Barun's mind up for him and he must have decided that he must STICK to his guns, and leave at the end of the notice period! I think that is why when SP tried to convince him to stay, he probably refused!!
I know people out there BASH most of us as "Phangirls", but I am the furtherst thing from a fangirl there is! I am a married, career women with a child! I do NOT have time to be anyone's phangirl! However, I was a FAN of IPK, ARSHI and SARUN! I did not want the magic created by ART to end because of commerce! I think in this matter I made the RIGHT decision to pressure SP! I wanted ART to triumph and I wanted to see Khushi and Arnav together at the end! NOT parted either by death or something else!
I think it was easier for us to pressure the channel coz we KNEW that the show was probably going to end in Feb anyway! So WHY ruin the story just to finish it in 2 months? Why not finish it with the story INTACT? Just coz SP didnt have another show to replace IPK right away, was not a good enough reason to mess with the story! Sometimes the integirty of the story matter more than anything else!
I think SP made this decision coz they realized the power of the viewer! They made a BUSINESS decision! Short term PAIN for long term GAIN! They kept the goodwill of a LARGE audience that will now continue to patronise them! If they had not put that DISCLAIMER would have won them more friends! But I will be thankful to them for respecting the audience sentiments in this one!
We were promised a "Star Crossed" love story of two unlikley people who connect and become one for all time! THAT is what I wanted to see! I did NOT want to be cheated of that! I was right in wanting what I was promised!
