Here is the email I sent:

Hello -

I have been a loyal dish network subscriber for many years now. About a year ago, I added on StarPlus programming for the soul purpose of watching Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon with Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani as leads. However, some recent politics and games from the Production House, 4Lions have come to light where Barun Sobti has been removed from the show.

It is extremely disappointing that Star Plus could not manage dissent from Production House that was intentionally out to ruin and close out a popular show.

The Production House, 4Lions forum32.com stated in an open letter announcement that they have run out of story lines and asked the fan base to help was just one of many recent instances that left an entire audience wondering how unprofessional and uncouth 4Lions has become.

An entire ensemble cast recognized for their talent world over is let go and no one from the Channel deemed it fit to investigate and probe into the matter.

As an ardent fan, a recent interview that was released showed a last minute ploy by 4Lions to burden the blame on Barun Sobti. So engrossed have we been with the the cast we never miss an expression, not to mention all the preplanned leading questions. The end result on the receiving end was that this was scripted.

If there is any means of salvaging this show with the current cast and story line, please we beseech you to work together and find a solution right away. Even if that means replacing the current Production House with a more notarized one. Otherwise, we have no option but to unsubcribe from the channel StarPlus.

Hey, there...thanks for the post. I completely agree with you. DISH, DirectTV and some of the net based providers who offer desi programming are in an all out war, and STAR India is WELL AWARE of it! If DISH loses subscriptions, it will affect STAR's sponsorships, & advertisers the most because DISH is the LARGEST provider of international programming in the US. There is also stiff competition from Zee & Colors to STAR for the advertising monies. Not to mention, DISH suffered big third quarter losses this past quarter due to lower subscriptions across the board! Every $20-25 we spend makes a difference!! Don't underestimate it!! Email DISH for sure!!

Would just add here: if people are serious about canceling their subscriptions on DISH, here is what they also need to do:

1) If you have an online DISH Network account, cancel your subscription for the channel under "programming"/international, print/save a copy of it for your records on your desktop, and then email it to Messrs. Shankar, Gupta & Singh & Ms. Sharma at STAR India...Their email info is as follows:

uday.shankar@startv.com
sanjay.gupta@startv.com
sanjay.jain@startv.com
parul.sharma@startv.com

2) If you don't have an online account, call DISH to cancel, and then have them send you a receipt showing the cancellation and then follow the steps above...

If you have time after you've done the email bit, call DISH to air your concerns...Speak to a representative and ask for a supervisor or an international program manager and tell them why you cancelled the subscription. That will really create the most impact. Good luck!😊

Thank you much @TM. I've been meaning to call dish network n tell them my concerns. So thanks for the heads up.

Will do, the way I look at it, an individual's behavior can be overlooked but an institution's like Star Plus cannot be as they are answerable to many subscribers.

Hello,

I have been a customer of Dish Network for a very long time. I mainly subscribe to Dish for Star Plus. Recently, Star's behavior towards its audience has left something to be desired. They have been unprofessional and misleading. There is a show called Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. The fans have asked them over and over again to retain the main actor, Barun Sobti, but Star has been uncooperative and has lied over and over again. Without Barun Sobti in the show there is no reason to watch Star Plus and hence there is no reason to subscribe to Dish Network. If Star Plus continues its unprofessionalism then I will be forced to cancel Dish Network and switch over to Cablevision. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
A Disgruntled Dish Subscriber

Loved it. Short and precised. Thanks.

If you add CC to all sponsors would be much better. Thanks.
