Hey, there...thanks for the post. I completely agree with you. DISH, DirectTV and some of the net based providers who offer desi programming are in an all out war, and STAR India is WELL AWARE of it! If DISH loses subscriptions, it will affect STAR's sponsorships, & advertisers the most because DISH is the LARGEST provider of international programming in the US. There is also stiff competition from Zee & Colors to STAR for the advertising monies. Not to mention, DISH suffered big third quarter losses this past quarter due to lower subscriptions across the board! Every $20-25 we spend makes a difference!! Don't underestimate it!! Email DISH for sure!!
Would just add here: if people are serious about canceling their subscriptions on DISH, here is what they also need to do:
1) If you have an online DISH Network account, cancel your subscription for the channel under "programming"/international, print/save a copy of it for your records on your desktop, and then email it to Messrs. Shankar, Gupta & Singh & Ms. Sharma at STAR India...Their email info is as follows:
uday.shankar@startv.com
sanjay.gupta@startv.com
sanjay.jain@startv.com
parul.sharma@startv.com
2) If you don't have an online account, call DISH to cancel, and then have them send you a receipt showing the cancellation and then follow the steps above...
If you have time after you've done the email bit, call DISH to air your concerns...Speak to a representative and ask for a supervisor or an international program manager and tell them why you cancelled the subscription. That will really create the most impact. Good luck!😊
