From what I have seen, I know VPP can play a romantic hero, a boy next door, and the suave and serious businessman really well on top of that he has many more things going for him like being well groomed, well spoken and having a sexy voice (something Barun lacks since he sounds like a boy). Ipk is Barun's best work for sure.
Like I said in an above post. I think it will be very inappropriate if Barun leaves and decides to return in a couple of months. That is just not right and I don't think the channel wants to do that. I feel Barun simply said he is taking a break because he is just confused and is just bad a PR. He is very unclear and it seems that he said all that to keep ipk as a back-up option. Which you just can't do, it's like he is taking his fans and the show for granted. I think either he stays and takes a break for a week or he leaves and never comes back (which I think is his plan disguised as a break).
yes, i agree, barun is very much lacking as a thespian in more than one arena. more often than not his voice is squeaky and he's had horrible dialog delivery from the start of ipk (although now it's so bad it's almost unintelligible). like i said before, he became and continues to be attractive to me exclusively because of his expressive eyes. when he's in the mood to emote with those eyes, i'm able to forgive all his other flaws and get immersed in the emotion being conveyed.
i too think that it will be the heights of unprofessionalism if Barun quits and then later returns. would piss me off to no end. i can understand and wait for him (i.e., tolerate more crappy tracks) if he clearly indicates that it is a break and the exact duration of it. but, yeah, i do agree that it is most likely quitting being disguised as a break - and if that's the case, i have/will lose a lot of respect for him. he simply can't have both.
and, if he indeed is quitting, than as a viewer of the show, i'd like some closure on the arhi story. after that, i'd be happy to watch a generation leap with SI/Viraf.
