She stood by the window lost in her thoughts. This was all her decision, her very own choice. But that did not change the fact that she felt suffocated, unable to breath with the mere thought of what she was doing.
Walking over to the large bed in the center of the room she stood before the jewelry, clothes. She picked up the lehnga from the bed and wiped the tears streaming down her face.
"Khushi hurry up the guests have arrived" came the voice of her mother with a thunderous knock on the door that startled her.
"Almost ready ma" she said holding back her sobs to the point that she began to choke on her words.
She stood in the empty dark room grabbing the Mangalsutra that hung around a delicate neck, however as always she could not muster the courage to pull it away from her body. Slowly she released the hook from the back and was about to fulfill the task that had taken her over a year to complete but it was not meant to be.
She froze as she felt an ice cold touch on her neck. She recognized this touch, his touch.
"Arnav" her voice echoed through the room.
He turned her around to look at her, her eyes shut and cheeks glistening with tears. He moved in closer, cupping her face with his hands. He moved in incredibly close to her lips, his warm breath mingled with the cold air, causing her to tense yet feel more relieved than she had felt in ages.
Saans me teri saans mili toh mujhe saans aayi
Mujhe saans aayi, Mujhe saans aayi
He brushed her lips lightly, gently. But her eyes remained closed.
"Khushi open your eyes" he whispered close to her face.
However she stood there, for she knew that if she opened her eyes now she will never be able to go down to that Mandap and marry NK. She knew that she will never be able to put up the faade of hatred she had lived in the last year.
However, Arnav was convinced that he was not going to give in easy. He grabbed the dori of her choli entwined it in his fingers. Moving her hairs to her shoulder, he placed a gentle kiss on her back.
Rooh ne chhu li jism ki khushboo tu jo paas aayi
Tu jo paas aayi, tu jo paas aayi
She wanted to resist but instead she arched backward feeling this raw passion after what felt like eternity.
He placed his hands over her waist and he hands started traveling upwards till his cold hands finally caused her to open her eyes and twirl around to face him. Her brown tresses fell onto his face.
Kab tak hosh sambhale koi
Hosh ude toh ud jaane do
"NO!" she screamed pulling back. "No Arnav, this is wrong."
"What is wrong?" he demanded pulling her and she flew in crashing against his rock hard chest. She looked into his eyes.
"This is wrong, what happened six years ago between you and sheetal was wrong, what you did to me was wrong, our love was wrong'.."
"SHHH" he resisted preventing her from completing her last sentence.
"TheN why does it feel so right?" he questioned looking daringly into her eyes.
Mujhko phir se chhu ke bolo
Meri kasam kya khaai
Saans me teri saans mili toh mujhe saans aayi
Mujhe saans aayi, Mujhe saans aayi
