Barun Sobti cried on the sets? That is a sad state of affairs. I wish he knew people are raving mad at how things have been mismanaged.

First of all i have to say that i am a huge stalker of your posts...really love to read what you write..and almost always find myself nodding to all that you have to say 😊

I have gone through some of the posts here and getting the gist of the 'behind the screen' story and well..surprisingly not so apalled by the machiavellian scheming that seems to be going on. But its the first time I see a production house all out to sabotage ITS OWN progeny. Generally its the other way around...the production house fighting tooth and nail to save its 'baby' and the chanel all out to mutate it beyond belief! This deliberate , calcuated self induced euthanasia is a unique phenomena i see here!

i was past of another forum for the only other indian serial I have ever watched an we had gone through almost a similar process...difference being -of course the channel wanted to change the storyline drastically...bring another powerful character and sideline the original lead character and zabardasti ghusau and third angle in between the much in love couple who had finally gotten together after all the travails and trials and a 'hate marriage'...Bilkul! ( i dont know whether thats a common thread in all the soaps ?Actually it just might be very masochistic tendencies that I harbour that I somehow land up watching such things ) Anyways..we swamped the chanel's publicity sites with our letters, emailed them like mad to save our show...but one fine day we found our all powerful hero drugged and abducted, by some ghonchu type character, to be never to be seen again! Surprisingly it was very easy to go COLD TURKEY after that...it was really sudden switch of emotions from highly anguished to absolute indifference... in a day! I will admit that I am not as emotionally invested in this show as I was in the earlier..but i am counting on my previous experience...it was a lesson well learnt!

The only good thing that came out of the whole mess was that the original writers (who had walked out after the channel took over) gave us the original story they had conceived, with the screenplay, EVERYDAY on IF sharp at 8:30 PM India Time for more than one year after that eventful day! They had a beautiful story to tell and it was really satisfying to read and imagine what the story would have been without any unwanted interferences, budget constraints, BDs...what have you!!! I dont know whether that can be ever repeated again...of course the writers have to do it voluntarily...and in this case maybe A and K need the visual medium to actually come alive...

anyways...just wanted to share my previous experience here and that I really dont know whether the chanel will or will even want to change the staus quo...even after getting bombarded with calls ..emails...

But I am again nodding to everything you have to say about 4Lions...the most pathetic, juvenile, totally unprofessional bunch of losers i have ever seen...there antics are not even laughable any more!

Dear Mr. Shankar;

Please accept this email as a protest of my utter disgust at the way IPKKND has been handled during it's dying days.It has been quite obvious for several months now that the PH has lost interest in this show due to whatever reasons. (The reasons are varied according to the various reports!)

As an international viewer, I would like to point out the fact that none of your shows are as popular as IPKKND, mainly because of the lead cast of Sanaya Irani and Barun Sobti.In fact, I, personally, do not watch any of the other shows. Neither do I understand Hindi nor do I speak it, yet I have been a faithful viewer of IPKKND since the inception of this show. Only because of Sanaya Irani and Barun Sobti.

I have heard various rumors of the reason(s) that Barun Sobti might/is leaving the show, one of them being that Gul Khan had completely changed the script to change the essence of the story. I commend Barun Sobti on this movie. At least he has the integrity to stay true to the course of the story.

I have recently found out, too, that this is not the first time such a scenario has occured! A similar scene has been played out with the show, Geet. (I have no clue as I have never ever watched any Indian shows.)

If this is true, then it baffles the mind that such an ethic is encouraged in an industry fraught with such fierce competition. It is insulting to the viewers. I do not know what is the standard of work in India. However, I would expect that it is not to encourage mediocre work! Or to leave work incomplete. Or to finish the work in a shoddy manner.

Whatever the reasons may be, whatever the rumors may be, if the show is being shut down, then I am writing this email in protest to show my utter disgust at all concerned.

However, in one regard, at least, my suspicions have been confirmed. I will not be trusting Indian media ever again! And definitely, not anything that has Gul Khan's hand in it!

I will always be grateful for the wonderful people I have met on this forum. I have read some amazing peieces of work that have brought me great joy, laughed my head off at the amazing wit and humour displayed here, cried at some of the poignant personal stories people have shared, cursed and cussed the show , the cvs, the channel with great gusto and pleasure, drooled over a man miles younger than me like a teenager, gawped and fallen in love with a woman though I am not gay,

And I have learnt so much from my interactions with the people here.

For all that I will always be grateful to this show despite the sorrows it has brought me.

When I watched the first episode of IPKKND ( my mom wanted me to watch was impressed with the promos) I was not impressed. ''have not watched a single Hindi soap before IPKKND , decided not to watch the show. One evening when called home to talk to Mom and got no answer I started panicking . In sheer desperation called the neighbors residence, Aunty picks up the phone and says, call back in 15min and disconnects ''''''made me mad , anxious. When I call back only to find out all aunties were glued to the TV watching IPKKND. I completely lost it. Mom very politely says, told you not to disturb me at 8pm . That night I decided to watch the show ''''.I saw this beautiful girl drenched in Rain shaking and that was it for me ''.went to my computer and watched all the episodes which I missed. I love this show and will watch it till the last episode.

We have had many ups and down in the past year. I am saddened to see the women who gave us a character like ASR kill him slowly. How can a mother kill her own child when another is born beats me. Why can't she come out in the open be professional enough to tell the audience the truth for a change . I know the industry speaks only one language MONEY but what happens to morals ? How can you look in the eye of the viewers and lie? Well I can go on ''''.

My plea to the PH , Channel is '''''.Please don't use us viewers to massage your egos. You'll may think we are idiots, unfortunately we are the educated masses who have given you your TRp's that's the only reason you'll are in business in the first place. A little about me...

I had not watched hindi serials before IPKKND. I became an IF member because of IPKKND ARHI,SARUN!!!.

I began to hate tv serials, even though I watched Lost , Friend , comedy shows, IT crowd , news, but tv serials had me bored. Actually 1 day i was chaging the channel saw Sanaya Irani thought she looked so pretty (episode 80 on 21th september 2011). Arnav was holding Khushi's hand behind her back. I began to watch the serial on and off. I rely on subtitles and can say that if it were not for the subtitles and Sanaya Irani, I would not have bothered at all.

Sanaya Irani looked so pretty and the angry Arnav looked so wrong for her to be gin with...soon I was addicted. Like any addict, I found myself indulging by finding out everything I could about the objects of my addiction. This lead me to India Forum (I did not even know such portals existed). Now I am an avid reader of the forum too. Needless to say, I never though I would get addicted to a TV serial, an Indian one at that, but I love ARHI , SARUN, IPKKND & as well as the time I spend on India Forum browsing the notes and posts of fellow addicts like SJ, tiya 229, boykzaya,naath bansanti ,euphuria ,madmaxine ,minimuffin86 ,mentalexotica,bhangan,HOH,Angel11,Experrellairmus,ddds,Madhu123, the rain,lyraa99,telefan,romance chick,ccuteaangel and many more (hats off to them, they all amazing, love them all)

As mentioned, I never watched Indian telly before and now I dont have a life without them. In reality, its just IPKKND ARHI<SARUN, as my attempts to watch other Star Plus and Indian serials was a complete failure. Nothing gripped my imagination like ARHI,SARUN,IPKKND. I do not think anything else will. Other serials simply bored me. The chemistry between Arhi & Sarun was missing in them.

I was at the starplus event and met Sanaya onn 30th april along with Rajan Singh. I am not one to spend on tickets at all, let alone expensive ones but I am going to the starplus event on 24th/25th Nov (Birmingham, UK). I could not care less who else is there from other serials, its IPKKND ARHI,SARUN that has my attention. I can safely say that IPKKND (Sarun & Arhi) will be my last serial. I will not watch another drama. Other people may like other serials, to each their own, and I hope they find as much joy from their chosen drama as I find from IPKKND ARHI,SARUN but if IPKKND is rendered down, watered down or hacked by stupid decision making then I for one will not be watching anything else. Actually, I will make it a point not to watch anything Star Plus decides to show and 4Lions decides to make. I am sure I am not alone.

How do I know that? The number of online viewers, posts, vm, youtube followers and millions of hits that the programme gets is evidence that I am not alone.

So what will I do about it?

I am a dedicated fan of IPKKND ARHI,SARUN and cannot begin to put into words the seething anger I have for the way the show is being treated by, ironically, the very people who gain the most from its success and therefore should safeguard its appeal, popularity and, most of all, its reputation. The only analogy that can come close to describing the disgust I feel would be to ask everyone to imagine a young couple who are blessed with a child who is adored and admired by all who come into contact with it. Then, having raised, nurtured and weened that infant the cuple, in plain view of all its admirers, decide to starve it to death while asking all the group surrounding them to take willfull delight in this saddistic voyeuristic act of infanticide. Killing your own baby and asking a crowd to witness. How do you articulate the disgust you feel?

I cannot and it is, due mainly to this, that I present the words of others who have managed to articulate a little of what I feel. Magnify it and then imagine what the strength of my feelings are.

I am going to the event on the 24th (in Birmingham, UK). I bought two tickets and my cousin, another die hard fan, was coming with me. However, after hearing about the planned exit of her favourite cast member and the shinanigans of 4Lions...she decided not to board a flight and make it all the way across from teh States to London. I now have a wasted ticket already (NOTE: anyone who lives in London and wants to join me in her place, contact/pm me. So SJ, tiya 229, boykzaya ,euphuria ,madmaxine ,minimuffin86 ,mentalexotica,bhangan,HOH.Angel11,Experrellairmus,naach bansanti,ddds,Madhu123, the rain,lyraa99,telefan,romance chick,ccuteaangel jonet1234 ,beena14... open invitation. If any of you would like to join me, I'll like to take you...In a way I am a fan of yours too).

Further, if you are in London and have letters, posts etc that you wish to be presented to whomever attends the event from the production house or channel, then I can volunteer to take them and also to hand them in. I for one do not believe that our voices should be ignored. Everyone talks about the power of the viewer and the galvanising affect of social networking... lets demonstrate it.

If you feel the same way then join us and make your feelings known so that at the very least we are not silent saddistic voyeurs in this act of infanticide. We spoke, we wrote ... we made our objections be known.

Lol thanks for the inspiration...thanks for providing all the email ids...😡 i am so pissed with them atm...seriosuly i gave up on indian shows but this one brought me back...and now this is what they do...Barun will have his fans in us where ever he goes its star plus and four lions that will loose them...they all can sit together and chant qabool hai together...soon they wil add the the word galti before their slogan...but all will be lost...

Being a follower of the channel and not being in India is not easy. I have been living away from India for the past 11 years...and to be honest i am not a follower of indian shows...YET somehow Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon caught my eye...not that i watched it anywhere...i have to admit i found out about it because of its immense popularity...and became a follower...this show brought me back to star plus as a viewer...I have never followed any other show...because my conception about star plus was that all the shows are the same...however this show broke the myth for me...

Today i hear news about Barun Sobti leaving...i also hear things which tell me that he has been forced to quit for whatever reason...i dont really know about all that...all that matters to us as fans is that he stays...and that he is given a good enough reason to stay...as a fan its a request...as a member of the fan club this request is representation from over thousands of fans to make him stay...bt as a viewer its more like a statement...u loose him...u loose a lot of fans...these are loyal fans who refuse accept otherwise...please make him stay...HE IS WELL WORTH IT U KNOW THAT...

Frankly speaking given the standard the channel generally keeps up, the show was going down hill for sometime...but was it so hard to realise that even with the crappy storyline it managed to keep its viewers...because for these fans and viewers, this is not just another show...its more like an inspiration and on many levels a way to connect with each other...i mean common just visit sites like India forums or the facebook fanpage...there is a outcry...it is over here you will see the damage that you are doing...

Yes i accept you might work on the theory that the national viewers will eventually move on and that there are so many other shows that are coming up...although that is again a misconception...have you thought of the impact on the international viewers...these are the people many of them non hindi speaking...who have come to subscribe your channel solely for this show...these are the fans that will not think twice to turn away again because the show that they emotionally invested in for so long has an end result like this...

I do not know of the reasons for his exist...but as fans we are not that dumb to figure out that what could be the possible reasons...if you would visit their fanpages you would see how volatile the situation is...I for one am once again ready to turn away from star plus if this is what we get to emotionally invest ourselves in the channel's show...you might think that this is the view of one person but i assure you i also speak for all those too who are so drained and so disappointed from the channel that they refuse to even contact you all...

Barun Sobti lived the character onscreen of ASR and Sanaya Irani of Khushi...you gave these two to us...and we created ARSHI from them...for us star plus is IPKKND...IPKKND is Arnav and Khushi...and Arnav and Khushi are Barun and Sanaya...you take out even one thing in this equation and the whole thing crashes...I had once lost faith in the indian television...and star plus was on my never watch channel list...this show changed it...i came to love this channel again solely for this show...may be that's why it angers me even more...all the time and money invested seems a waste now...please be decent enough to atleast let us know if the Barun will continue or not...and please do not fool us with the stereotype dialogues of taking a long break...dont force us viewers to take a long break from the channel again just like Barun...

ps...if the rumours are true that four lions have run out of ideas for the show then one question who asked them to start a new one on Zee tv when they cant handle the old one...
