anu hi,

thanks so much for this lovely post. you are so right, the way we're going on. it's pretty unthinking and extremely demanding. no real appreciation at all of the hard work involved here.

i belong to a department called creative in an ad agency. i can tell you it isn't easy to make something out of practically nothing. imagination can't be bought in the market. i have to get a couple of ads going every week, come up with a few tvc's and campaigns every year. that itself is challenging and i've come to understand that not many realise what's involved in this process. not a prob, love what i do, that;'s all that really matters.

here, five days a week, every week, the creatives are tasked with producing a 20-minute audio-visual piece, that must be part of a continuing story and a stand alone episode in itself. the mind boggles at the work involved. and the inspiration required. to have got someone like me, a confirmed non-serial watcher, completely hooked; to have reached audiences across the world, young, old, from a variety of language groups and cultures; to have given us more than nine months of episodes with practically no complaints; to have merited the creation of one of the largest online fora of viewers; to have us still hanging on albeit cribbing bitterly; to have been the top rated serials for months; and much much more, the creatives must have got something right.

surely.

and how.

fabulous show. iss pyaar ko kya naam doon. you tell a story of beautiful love, deep, abiding, almost palpable. so transformative it touches and changes us. but with the lightest touch. clever, witty, delighting yet insightful.

thank you, each and everyone of you that make this show. we are lucky to have masters of their craft entertain us every day. sometimes i think, how terribly tough it must be to manage this large amorphous thing called the daily soap and give it direction, meaning, likability, consistency, shape day in day out. without break. sometimes with a mahaepisode too as in this week. then there are the brickbats.

yesterday's chaplin piece, gorgeously shot basketball, perfect portrayal of tension growing, sharp dialogue and b.g. score, and khsuhi so lovely in bizarre pink 👏 👏

looking forward to every second of asr, khushi, love, and more.

of course, if anyone tells me there's no young tycoon in delhi called arnav singh raizada or no jhalli cooky spunky gutsy girl called khushi kumari gupta singh raizada from lucknow, you know what i'll tell them? 😆

Indi dear,

Thanks for the long reply and was really irritated with some of the immature posts and the negativity of this forum from the past few days. Agreed that the present track is very difficult for us Arshi lovers to digest but we do need to wait it out to see how this pans out. I only see cribbing and more cribbing, right from the hate marriage, swami track, kidnapping track, post kidnapping and finally re marriage track. But now all of them feel that those tracks were better. don't want to even go near the Shyam ending track. This has been the history - never satisfied and react even before the whole track plays out. In all this melee we forget that it takes a lot for the team to give us this show that we love to bits and never really appreciate them.

@blue - I really know how difficult it is to be creative as I worked in advertising too. See we have one more thing in common😆

@red - I really liked the basketball match yesterday - the camera angles and direction was just too good. It is not easy for those in motion shots to be perfect. I wonder if anyone even thinks along those lines before they criticize!! Sigh😔

anu,

you're from advertising. yay. so you can understand how awful i feel when creatives are mauled ha ha. i am so glad you wrote this post. all the time, we find everything te.rri.ble.

but we don't leave. even the current track i feel may lead us to some wonderful points in the main tale and certainly lots of love 😳. but yes, there could have been something else, and certainly not sheetal. having said that, thank g for the decision to go with jealousy and insecurity, so with chudail, so with sheetal and aarav, so with a little "exposure" spiking khushi's worry, so with sports and a valid place to show off a well toned body, on to basketball. uff did you see that play of sun on his face, hair, skin, smile? i am barely alive.
these are not just talented directors and creators, they know exactly how to kill me.
