I'm copying the portion today the CVs portrayed on the screen.
Now let's go back to the plant simile again. Another characteristics of Hydrangea is that it does not really need it's support tree because it has the capability to get it's basic necessities like food, air, water and light from the environment. But if it grows up clinging to another tree, it needs it's support to stand. If you separate that tree, it will fall.
Anjali grew up with Arnav as the support tree. When Shyam came into her life, she extended her branches and clung to him too. When Shyam was away, then Arnav was there to cling to... When Arnav was busy at work, she had Shyam available to cling on to. It worked perfectly.
She needs someone to hold into fast. Even though the entire family is by her side, she still needs her main support.. Just like a Hydrangea growing between a wall and a tree, needs the support of that tree even though the wall is bigger and more solid.- Today when the truth was being revealed and her support seemed fragile, she screamed to stop it. Because her happy bubble was being destroyed. She could not pretend to not understand the situation anymore. But I was proud of Arnav today. He did not stop the truth from being revealed. He did not fall weak when Anjali protested.(This also I mentioned in Arnav's character analysis)
There is another funny similarity between the plant and Anjali. Hydrangea can also grow if you just put a stick by it's side. It does not necessarily need it's nutrition from the support structure. It can produce it's own nutrition. Now think of that stick as reality. If she ever had a chance to face the reality/life, she could have stood on her own. But her family, including Arnav, did her a huge disservice when they did not let her reach her full potential. Now she is just a clinging vine and an incomplete woman who has no identity of her own except Arnav's sister and Shyam's wife. She needs her illusion of a happy life to live and she is willing to do anything to maintain it. If you think about it, It's pitiful, really...
I can't claim everything would be hunky dory if Arnav comes clean with the complete truth. That's upto the CVs to portray. But it will force her to face the reality. It's very difficult to understand, if after being protected against reality for so many years, she will be able to take it or not, but it's the only way left in this situation.
As a wife, she has a right to know the truth about her husband. The family members including Arnav is taking away her right in the name of protection. She has asked over and over for an explanation and all the family members do is give her medicine and make her go sleep. She deserves an explanation and needs to be treated as a grown woman and not like a little girl who is incapable of understanding or facing the realty... - May I say, BINGO?
