Anyhow from what I have seen, TV actors only get one big TV show, after that it is all small shows or weak characters. So doubt, after IPK, he will get a big role again.

Also he has timed his departure perfectly. By Dec, his movie release is closer & also he has a another movie in hand. This is the perfect time to quit. If he does not accept & IPK also ends, then what will he do?
