As far as I know..such negotiations happen with every actor and every PH..and these are supposed to remain behind closed doors...Even if the news comes out..Best option is to deny all the rumours and keep mum until everything is resolved..

But what do we get here??An actor..as usual is trying to save his stand...and saying "I'm NOT leaving.."Well and good!!But instead of supporting him and putting a FULL STOP to all the ruckus...the PH and a few people accelerate the rumors...And create a never ending confusion...So you put the cart before the horse...and instead of pacifying all the agitation..You add fuel to the fire!!So now...due to some utter non sense actions..If the news has come out in public..Then the PH needs to take a stand and clear the confusion!!

But all they do is muddy the waters!!

I don't know about Gul. But given how media savvy most business houses are, they do not give out news so easily. Plus there is something called not burning bridges. You build trust (viewers, sponsors, sources, and such) and you carry your trusted base across. I think this PH is losing it.

I for one may just end up thinking they might do ramanchi like they did with IPK if I get to see another of their serials. And just not watch simply because I do not want a mess. Bad publicity.

The same goes with journos too. I mean indirectly you are dilly dallying with the news they publish as well, right? Say, if I were with TOI, I would not believe their news to publish it because of their history, because it would ruin my credibility!

Given the way Barun has handled this so far, he seems to be a man of integrity. So I hope things work out fair for him.

Why does the PH not say anything to clear up why its position is at odds with the channel and with the actor?

Why has the PH closed all avenues of communication with fans wanting clarification?

Why leak negotiation details when you have made the actor and the channel adhere to widely practiced business norm of keeping negotiation matters out of the public realm?

The PH is trying to do something here - where are the other journalists to report on this? very interesting choice of journos isn't it, - and it is not to provide clarification, it is to muddy the waters.

I had a few things to add :

1.I strongly believe this is a scripted sensation. As bad as it sounds, what else do you think could create more sensation than Barun Sobti + leaving IPKKND. 😆. Not only that, also think its the hype that partly helped increase TRP. Knowing the impact THAT has on THIS forum ;)

2.I wish you asked a question like WHICH PH would do all this? I would love an answer to that. The PH who granted a 40 day sabbatical to the actor AND had him back even when another PH of the same channel sued another actor for simply signing another show on a rival channel. Mr. Sobti here signs a film, AND he's safe!! That should speak volumes on his professionalism, commitment and most of all, The PH's dependence on him to a toxic extent.

3.I was shocked Sobti didn't quit TV immediately after he got the movie offer. Not as a Sobti fan, but as an observer. Generally, a TV actor would do that. Take Sushant for instance. He quit a popular show like PR, which had 6+ TRPs when it was peaking. Like duh, IPK isin't even close that way. to note - Sushant quit PR even before he started work on the film. Sobti finished the film and I haven't an inkling of a clue, what he's still doing on the show.. So, there you go, its called playing safe and smart.

4.Barun Sobti has given to ASR as much as ASR has given to Barun Sobti. Very few people get that, and the ones who do, get the point of this exercise.

Very heart-felt and written post.. idc if it sounds sensible; that's not the point of around 99% of IPK-IF posts anyway. :))

As for the PH, they have a whale of a problem. We know they are not in their element when negotiations happen. We saw it when Daljeet was negotiating, we saw it again during Barun's brief absence at the time of kidnap track. The PH was not forthcoming with details or appeasements. They wont do it. Its not in their DNA. I think they are either too scared to admit or dont think its important.

Either ways, shows change, people change, actors move on. I am surprised folks would want to blame an actor when he/she negotiates his/her role. I said this when Daljeet negotiated her role and I say this again.

I agree, a simple, sincere statement from PH admitting that negotiations are underway and they will update the fans as soon as possible would make tons of sense. However, I wonder if there is a gag order per SP rules on PH and actors when negotiations are underway. Barun said he is not leaving. He was right, he is not leaving right at this minute. It does not mean he wont leave EVER. That is his prerogative as a professional.

PH is making sobti a scapegot by putting all blame on him...to stay for such a PH is suicidal for his career...IPKKND is a show with great potentuial,gud actors..but only spoiled by PH and channel...i am in forum only becz of ipkknd only...
but if we r true fans of BS,we should respect his decision and stand by him...
[though for me if he leaves its heartbreaking...i wish he stays back...but for whom?not for this PH or the bashers who took stones before knowing truth...but for true fans..]

I have a feeling that its a deliberate attempt by the PH to make Barun lose his credibility and fanbase with the audience so incase he leaves, the new actor is relatively easily accepted by the people. But in all this they are simply ruining their own image, which they do not seem to care about. Barun is a fine actor and a considerable proportion of the success of the show is because of him. I say this as an unbiased fan because he made me fall in love with the show along with Sanaya. So much that I was compelled to watch it from episode 1 after I missed whole 1 year of the show. So the PH as well as the channel owe a lot to him and this is not the way to acknowledge his contribution even if he leaves.
