As you say, Staf.
PH has never clearly defined why:
- Arnav has a 'dark' past
- Anjuli is so elf-centered and too-sweet-to-be-borne
- Shyaam wants what he wants
- Daadi
Arnav:
Past is 'dark' when one is responsible for it; eg. a past felon, someone who 'accidentally' killed others, casued harm to a community/village/town, was a traitor to country, etc.
It is 'tragic' and 'sad', however, when there is tragedy in the past without one being involed in it, such as with Arnav. It is certainly not 'dark'.
Gul Khan needs a course in English semantics and idioms.
Arnav is definitely NOT a 'dark horse'.
Anjuli:
She's lame. We got it. Moving on. Why else is she the way she is?
Left at the altar with parental suicide/deaths would be traumatic; yes; and certainly the reason for her to cling to Arnav, but it still does not account for her saccharine nature. That verges on psychotic.
Only sociopaths are that sweet.
As to all is good if and only if she is happy...well I guess that is her nature... to be self-centered.
Shyaam:
Who is he? What exactly is his agenda? -
- Khushi? - Arnav's wealth? - Revenge against slaps? - Anjuli and control of her money? - He'd been married for 3 years before Khushi entered the scene; apart from her, for all the other reasons why wait so long to make his moves? And if so, is there ANY reason, apart from greed, for it all?
Daadi:
Quite covered by enigma.
The less said the better.
But still, these and many more have had character sketches so poorly etched its laughable the show still continues.
- how is Paayull important to Khushi?
(once married, she had Khushi have not seen any bonding or even been together)
- how is Akaash important?
(after marriage, all he does is yes and no.)
- maamamji?
As for believing a person who up until now has been shirking her responsibilities for 14 years, and then has been denouncing his affianced wife to all and sundry, I guess this is the famous Mullik genes.
As you observe, Naani and Maamaji and Akaash are quite calm individuals who examine things before believing int heir veracity.
To believe a vitriolic woman over a photograph and then be all broken up about it...PUHLEEEZ.
