Maverick, excellent post buddy.
I'm tired of hearing this excuse..."you don't know what happened." Excuse me. We have brains, we can put two and two together...not everything has to be spelled out. It's no coincidence that ever since Daljeet renewed her contract, the entire show has changed its direction. She's had more screen-time in the past couple of weeks than she did for the past one year.So of course it is due to her new contract and not because the story demands it...do they think we are so stupid as to buy that excuse? They are giving her the lead role she was "promised". They were smart to reduce her role in the past...as this show wouldn't last a year if she got more screen-time with her limited acting skills. Now its already ruined so let her do whatever she wants. However, it was not very smart to mislead her into thinking she would be a lead on a popular Star Plus show. She is not of that caliber, as we can clearly see now and they should have seen it back then. She was tolerable in the past only because she had nothing to do but stand by and smile. See her in complex, emotional scenes and you want to CRINGE.That's my criticism of her acting. Now coming to her drama off-screen.She leaked rumors about quitting to leading websites and used that publicity stunt to gain the fan's sympathy and support. She even told fans to keep sending in their messages to her and the PH and they will try to work something out. The worst part is that she had the nerve to roll her eyes at the same fans in a Rangmunch interview later because she couldn't handle their criticism. I guess she loves to hear from fans only when it is in support of her, similar to Gautam Hedge. They all need to take lessons on how to handle audience feedback.Anyways...obviously the PH saw the fan reaction and it influenced their decision to give in to her demands. Otherwise, they were planning on letting her go as she was serving her notice period like Deepali is now. The difference is, Deepali didn't resort to any cheap publicity stunts to negotiate a better deal. Sure she is off the show but at least she is not hated by a massive fan-base. We have given her more love and respect this past week than ever before. I hope she gets her own show like Sana Khan did.Daljeet may have "won" in negotiating a better deal for herself at the expense of this show but what was the point of this increased screen-time and scenes when no one is even appreciating her now? I'm sure the makers are aware of how frustrated viewers are with her and they will soon drop her storyline just like they dropped the DKS storyline a while back. So her 15 minutes will be up pretty soon anyway...I just hope it was worth it.Finally, the way threads on Daljeet are handled in this forum is baffling.I recall topics in the past about how Sanaya is on steroids or how she has no manners...those were offensive. The topics saying Sanaya's expressions were off in the hut scene were not offensive. You can agree or disagree but it is valid discussion. If I remember correctly, those topics were never closed, as they shouldn't be.So why can't we criticize Daljeet's acting or off-screen drama? Her actions have directly affected our show, quality and TRP-wise. So we have every right to express our frustration with her, the CVs, or whoever. If Sanaya had negotiated a deal for herself, putting her own selfish needs above the show and it negatively affected the show, she would be fair game for criticism too.
