Devi Maiyya pays Khushi Kumari Gupta a Visit

Hilarious Found in the main forum

Devi Maiyya (DM): Hello, Khushi.
Khushi Kumari Gupta (KKG): Oh my Devi Maiyya! How nice to see you after the longest time. But why are you here? Is there a problem?
DM: That depends. But I admit there might be some trouble brewing.
KKG: Oh! But I am so glad you are here. Wait, who is in trouble? Can I help?
DM: *sigh* No, Khushi, you can't help everyone, you know?
KKG: Yes, I know that. But it is not a bad thing, is it, to help humanity in general?
DM: No, it isn't. I daresay it is often charming, sometimes noble and on occasion misplaced.
KKG: Are you referring to something I did?
DM: Hmm. So tell me Khushi, how have you been? You remembered me a lot on Friday.
KKG: Oh ya, my Devi Maiyya, I am faced with a most peculiar dilemma.
DM: I have an idea, but go on.
KKG: You know how much I love and care about Anjali Di..
DM: *rolls eyes*
KKG: But DM, I bet you love Anjali Di too, don't you? Then why do you trouble her so?
DM: As a matter of fact I do. You and she are the most important women in my life.. in fact,
KKG: Wait. That is what my husband says.
DM: Husband? You mean Arnav Singh Raizada?
KKG: Of course, DM, who else? You were the only one who saw us get married. How can you forget?
DM: I thought you were the one who had forgotten..
KKG: Well, it is all so confusing. Then Naani said that thing about Krishna and Radha not doing pheras and I couldn't stop thinking about it.
DM: Why did Krishna come in between all of this?
KKG: Oops! Don't be mad at me, DM. I don't want any misunderstandings between us. You are still my favourite God.
DM: *smiles* It is okay, Khushi. I don't mind. So why are you still wearing sindoor and your mangalsutra.
KKG: I.. I don't know. Should I remove it?
DM: Do what you want, Khushi. I can't tell you.
KKG: You are judging me because of this remarriage thing, aren't you? You are not with me on this, I know it.
DM: No, Khushi. You are my child, I am always with you. Plus, I am God, so I am always with you by definition. And you know what, I support your remarriage or completion of wedding or whatever. I think this is one of those rare occasions when you have asked something that is for YOURSELF.
KKG: Umm, I do loads of things for myself.
DM: Such as? When was the last time you faced a "peculiar dilemma" and took a decision that benefitted you?
KKG: Nothing comes to my mind right away, but I bet there are tons of such instances.
DM: Didn't your parents ever tell you as a child that – God helps those who help themselves.
KKG: Nope. Firstly, that sounds more of a biblical reference. And plus, we are from Lucknow, you see.
DM: Sorry?
KKG: We are very polite, it is always pehle aap-pehle aap.
DM: *shakes head* Anyway we moved off the topic. So what is the peculiar dilemma you are facing?
KKG: Di as you know is in a bad place now. Because of you actually. Why did you take away her baby?
DM: Karma.
KKG: You cannot pass the buck like that.
DM: Humans do this passing the buck thing. Man proposes, God disposes, remember?
KKG: That is what I once told Arnavji, aap jo bhi karte hain Devi Maiyya khud aap se karwati hain.
DM: I remember. The day you got engaged to him.
KKG: I did not... I guess, I did. BTW were you happy when he came to the temple the other day?
DM: He came there for you. You told me so yourself.
KKG: Yes! *grins* But are you happy anyway?
DM: You are happy and therefore I am too. So what about Anjali?
KKG: She is miserable. She won't eat.
DM: But she did. A lot, in fact.
KKG: She is sad. You must admit that her life has been plagued by tragedies. Parents suicide, cheated by husband, deformity and now this loss of a child. How could you kill a child, DM?
DM: I did not.
KKG: Then who did?
DM: Oops, spoiler alert. Can't tell you.
KKG: Hmmm. So the other day I saw Shyamji sneaking out of Di's room. And then I realised that Di was happy only because she met him. Which is why she ate and was somewhat normal for a bit. So I was wondering if I could convince Arnavji to bring back Shyamji.
DM: Why do you call him Shyamji? What is the ji for? Is this also a Lucknow thing?
KKG: Yes. And also a Star Plus thing. But tell me DM, what should I do?
DM: You already know what to do.
KKG: Why are you being so unhelpful? This is exactly like those times when Amma says, do what you want to do, when she wants me to do exactly what she wants, but won't tell me what it is.
DM: Well, not for nothing am I the Amma of all Ammas.
KKG: Di's happiness is important and it is possible that Shyamji has changed, right?
DM: Khushi, when was the last time we met?
KKG: What? Why do you ask?
DM: Just answer my question.
KKG: Lets see now. Oh yeah, when I patched up with you during Arnavji's kidnapping.
DM: Ah! So you remember?
KKG: Of course, I do. Those were tough times.
DM: Yes, you did cry a lot then.
KKG: Yes. Even Star Plus was proud of me. But my husband and soulmate was kidnapped, what was I to do?
DM: Right. So who had kidnapped your husband?
KKG: Umm. You were the one who gave me the sign, of course it was Shyamji.
DM: Was just checking, I thought you might have forgotten.
KKG: How can I forget? He tried to kill me and my husband, he held my husband captive for days, didn't let him change clothes, tried to usurp the family wealth. I don't want those days to ever come back again.
DM: Safe to say, nobody does.
KKG: True. But the good thing was that Arnavji and I realised that we loved each other..
DM: ...dammit.
KKG: Yes. Plus, we realised that we had this fabulous other world connection and could talk to each other without being around each other.
DM: *smiles* Now stop showing-off. So Shyam was the bad guy. Not for the first time, yes?
KKG: As in?
DM: Did Shyam try to harm you in any other way?
KKG: Of course, DM, you know EVERYTHING. That engagement under false pretext, that stalking, the inappropriate touching and for being responsible for the biggest misunderstanding between me and Arnavji.
DM: Hmm. And yet..
KKG: And yet, why do I want to bring him back. That is what you want to ask, right?
DM: You know me well.
KKG: But, DM, in this moment I can only think about Di. Her happiness and her well-being, which one must accept, lies with Shyamji.
DM: Who in the past has been a cheater, a stalker, a kidnapper and a murderer? Hmm.
KKG: You are God. You are supposed to forgive humans.
DM: You are human, you are not supposed to forgive people so easily.
KKG: He may have changed, right? People reform. Sometimes you need a big upheaval. Maybe losing this child was that life-changing event for Shyamji.
DM: So you think he is no longer a threat to you and your family?
KKG: Do you know something that I don't?
DM: It is possible. But based on everything you know, would you give him another chance?
KKG: Would you?
DM: I asked first.
KKG: Fine. I would. For Di.
DM: So you think it is possible for a guy like Shyam to change? Are you kidding?
KKG: You sound just like my husband.. I mean Arnavji.
DM: So he doesn't approve of this idea, does he?
KKG: Come now, DM, you know EVERYTHING.
DM: So you have decided to defy your Arnavji's wishes and bring back Shyam?
KKG: When you put it that way, it sounds a little bad.
DM: Not judging, Khushi. But you do realise that you might be putting your own relationship on the line, right?
KKG: Arnavji will be mad for a bit, but when he sees a happy Di, he will understand.
DM: I hope so, Khushi, I really do.
KKG: DM, please say something more comforting than that. BTW did you come because I called you on Friday.
DM: Nope. I came here on behalf of the fangirls.
KKG: What? They hate me again?
DM: More like ...ummm.. they are baffled.
KKG: There is no pleasing them, is there?
DM: Well, you could perhaps take a pair of scissors and give your Arnavji a haircut. That will please them and fetch you some approval points.
KKG: What the! My Arnavji is uber handsome as he is.
DM: That he is. Plus, love is blind.
KKG: Gods can be sarcastic too?
DM: That is the good part about being God, one can be anything. Anyway, I am off to meet Child Bride.
KKG: What? Why?
DM: I have many daughters and somehow they all need my help at the same time. Take care, kiddo. And stay vigil. Remember to invest in a couple of pepper sprays. You are going to need it.
KKG: Wait, wait.. don't go. What does that mean? What do you know, Devi Maiyya?
DM: Sorry, can't tell now. All in good time, all in good time. Just remember, it is okay to watch out for yourself too. See you around.

ROFL Don't know what the book refers pls explain or shall I google it 😲

THE CHANGE: WOMEN, AGING AND THE MENOPAUSE is Germaine Greer's explanation of why our culture is still in the Dark Ages with regard to the changes taking place in a woman's body once her reproductive cycle ends. As if on a crusade, Greer attempts to enlighten women and men on what has thus far been a natural and unavoidable stage of female growth traditionally met with fear and confusion. Greer draws on medical, historical, anthropological, literary, and cultural sources coupled with personal insights to build her case. She explores current treatments which have earned public attention such as hormone replacement therapy, as well as alternative and nonmedical approaches to relieving menopausal symptoms, such as hypnosis, aromatherapy, and herbal preparations.

Much of Greer's source material seems ironic in our modern times, as women were traditionally treated like objects whose usefulness ceased when their reproductive years closed. She proposes that today's youth-driven society may not be prepared fully to transcend this archaic attitude, despite the youthfulness and accomplishments of such mature women as writers Karen Blixen, Colette, George Eliot, Willa Cather and Stevie Smith. Greer also cites the vitality of courtesans such as Louis XIV's lover Madame de Maintenon, Henri II's mistress Diane de Poitiers, and the seventeenth century Ninon de Lenclos, who influenced Parisian society for more than thirty years after her menopause.

Greer postulates that historic and literary images of crones, traditionally mythical or tribal wise women, should inspire today's women as they near menopause. Women have been considered caretakers of occult knowledge throughout the centuries, growing more powerful as years pass, whereas modern women's spirituality is most often subordinated to their need for male approval. She suggests women can change this for themselves by seeking the company of female peers while educating men that growing older brings freedom rather than loss. ROFL i hope it helps... ROFL
